Short and sweet.

I read, and enjoyed Lily's Paranormal Detectives series, and thought I'd give this series a read. This episode is a 'setup' for meeting the characters and their world, and is longer than the following books.

Paige is a human in a world of 'hidden' paranormals, and routinely finds herself relying on her analytical mind to get over on her adversaries. With the help of her friends, all of whom are either paranormal themselves, or have dealt with the paranormal world for years, she begins her new career as a private investigator when she fails to pass her test to be a cop because she's 'too nice'.

This series is completely different from Lily's Paranormal Detectives series and is definitely for a younger reader, or someone wanting something considerably less violent than the usual paranormal fare. With that in mind, it's still a definite four star effort.

The blurb doesn't do this book justice, I was hooked from the first few pages and absolute loved Paige, she is a bit quirky but a quick thinker and the police superiors made a big mistake not taking her on. However due to her fantastic skills Sergeant Jonathan King steps in with a surprise proposition and that's where the fun really begins. There is murder, mystery, things that go bump in the night, along with secrets, danger as well as a few red herrings as to who the killer is and plenty of laughs and great characters. I can not wait for the next in the series to see what Paige gets tangled up in next!!

Captain Alvarez might be determined to stand in her way, but Paige might just be on her way to an alternative answer to her perceived calling

A PI with a somewhat mysterious mentor or two, all sorts of complications are likely to pop up. Some might be lethal, but others could be deeper connections

welcome to the world of the paranormal Paige!

looking forward to reading along on this journey with you!

Daunting Darkness is a cozy paranormal mystery book that is so much fun to read. I got this book cause of the cover and let me tell you it was great, I was hooked from the first page and read it so quickly, what a cute book this was. I loved Paige she’s quick on her toes, smart and a bit quirky. She finally had the job she always wanted and PI while on a case to find a lost dog she stumbles in to the world of the paranormal.

Becoming a private investigator, Paige Papillon is doing something she always wanted to. What she didn't know is that her skills at solving mysteries and crimes would lead to a paranormal investigation. This feels like a quick read, even though it is a longer tale, The author does a good job making this tale one to grab for mystery lovers.
