Robert M. Drake is a very interesting poet. A lot of this book in particular is about the things that we as individuals thank about all the time with relationships. Are they thinking about how I think about them? Do they still love me? Do they care for me the way I care for them? He hits this stuff all thorughout, but he also makes sure the reader knows that they themselves are worth it, no matter what the past relationships took out of you. He talks about being broken, but only because you give these pieces of yourself to other people and they don't return the piece or the caring part of you never recovers. Drake is so good at explaining what we're all thinking. I love how he describes the want we're all craving on the inside. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

This is the first poetry book I have ever read from cover to cover. I found R. M. Drake on Instagram, and something struck me the moment I saw the first post. I was an instant follower and it didn't take me long to realize I needed a copy or two of his latest works. I'm a bit behind in reading them, that's the sort of year I've had. But they're beautiful. They are just the right mixture of broken and beautiful. His poems are bone-deep real, and yet somehow still filled with a dreamy hope that I had longed for since the first post. Thank you, R. M. Drake. Never stop writing! The world, and I with it, needs your voice.
