Like, don’t sleep with your hot employees. That’s a good rule.
At least I was until that night. I blame the champagne and the tuxedo he wore.
There are several reasons why I shouldn’t be attracted to Elliot McPhee.
(1) He’s emotionally unavailable. (2) He’s in his mid-forties—too old for me. (3) He’s my employee. (4) He’s jaded after a disastrous divorce. (5) He’s leaving soon.
But he has gray eyes, and a deep velvety voice…did I mention he looks like Joshua Jackson?
I can’t resist.
It’s just a one-night stand before he leaves.
Except, things get complicated.
We’re talking two bright pink lines complicated.
Did I mention he has no desire to commit?
So, we agree not to try.
Except, we can’t keep our hands off each other.
Then I find out he’s not who I thought.
He’s so wrong for me.
So why do I still want to create a family with him?
Claudia is an award-winning, USA Today bestselling author. She writes alluring, thrilling stories about complicated women and the men who take their breath away. She lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband and her youngest two children. She has a sweet Bichon, Macey, who thinks she's the ruler of the house. She's only partially right. When Claudia is not writing, you can find her reading, knitting, or just hanging out with her family. At night, she likes to binge watch shows with her equally geeky husband.
I have been reading Claudia's books for years, since 2016, and what that means is that I will recall names while I'm reading and be like hey is that Elliott from FOUND, which is now named PERFECT FOR ME, and as I read a little bit more I was pleased as punch to find out that it is in fact him...if you want a good love triangle story I highly recommend reading that book. Elliott didn't get the girl at that time but that's because Fern is who he really needed in his life.
Fern Spearman is a force to be reckoned with, she's independent, strong, loyal, and has the determination of a dog with a steak. You know what that means, I absolutely loved her! I love strong women in Romance and Fern is definitely one of the strongest I've read about in a very long time.
In this next Spearman family story, Fern gets her HEA with the elusive Elliot McPhee. This man has been a mystery since he first turned up in an earlier Burgoa novel. And let’s just say, Fern Spearman isn’t any closer to solving the mystery of Elliot than any of us are, despite their one-night stand and resulting nine-month surprise. And much to Elliot's own surprise, he finds himself longing to come out of the shadows and put down roots.
Fern is the only one of her siblings who doesn’t oversee an empire, but she works harder than any of them heading up the Spearman Foundation. When she meets Elliot, he presents as just an ordinary guy, volunteering to help her with a new neighborhood project for the foundation. As they spend time together, Fern gets to know Elliot, or so she thinks, but eventually finds that there’s A LOT she doesn’t know.
As only Burgoa can do, she takes us on an epic ride with a whirlwind of emotions, keeping us wondering until the end how things will work out. A sweet, steamy, compelling read that kept me hooked from the first page to the last, I have no doubt you'll love Fern and Elliot's story as much as I do!
Be ready for all the feels, all the emotions. Be ready to fall in LOVE!
Elliot oh sweet Elliot! If you’re an avid Claudia reader you’ll know who Elliot is. I am not and will not drop spoilers because you have to meet Elliot in which ever way you discover him. Just know that he is a complex man and finally having his story makes my heart happy! I didn’t think I needed redemption for him until now. I love Elliot in a way I didn’t think possible!
Elliot is a recluse. He helps his family but keeps everyone at arms length! All that changes when he meets Fern Spearman! They were like to magnates always attracting one another but keeping firm boundaries!
One night of pure passion changes both of their outlooks but they have demons to overcome because a future together can even be thought of!!
I really loved both characters equally. I truly loved seeing Elliot grow and learn to forgive himself. Fern was a strong woman and really cared the world on her back so to see these two learn to work together and grow in life was absolutely stunning! I just cant say enough but also don’t want to give any spoilers!
Just be ready to fall not only for the two main characters but also the whole Spearman clan!!
Along Came You is the 3rd book in the Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers series by Claudia Burgoa, but the first book I've read by her. The book is a standalone, told in first person, dual perspective and I didn't feel lost at all having missed the first two. The overall storyline was interesting, it was well written, and I enjoyed the characters, but this book just didn't work for me. I found it to be pretty slow in the beginning causing me to skim a lot. The story progression was a lot different from I'm used to (the first 80% was interspersed over a year time period) and I just didn't care for it. Lastly, accidental pregnancy is my favorite, but the hero only decided not to sail off into the sunset, alone, until after he found out the heroine was pregnant 🤦🏻♀️. I may be willing to give this author another go if the trope is right, but this one wasn't my cup of tea.
Sometimes you don't meet THE one until 20 years later, and you might not realize it...
These two almost seem destined to meet. In some ways they are both taking on the same blame role in their families.
Elliot McPhee--Scott's Hazel's Ex, client of Fitz, built a successful business to support his family but has been traveling the globe taking on volunteer work to avoid being home, prefers people see him as a couch surfing bum rather than a billionaire, loved the girl next door but she wasn't meant to be his. He loves being an uncle but he doesn't see fatherhood in his future.
Fern Spearman--always playing mom to her siblings, even her big brothers, deals with their mother's constant disapproval, disappointment, blame, jealousy, runs the charitable arm of the family business and is starting another but she doesn't draw a salary, takes care of everyone else but herself, she has major trust issues with men because she always assumes they are trying to use her to get to her brothers and the money.
Both of them have been punishing themselves for things they have no control over. Elliot meets Fern purely by chance as he is coming home from one of his volunteer missions and finds himself wanting to do whatever it takes to help her. Perhaps more, even if she is too young. Maybe. But she's beautiful. And is anyone taking care of her?
Fern finds herself thinking about Elliot constantly from the moment they meet. He helps bring her vision to fruition. He also stars in her fantasies every night. Everyone around her sees the chemistry, but Fern keeps trying to keep him at arms length because he's an employee. At least that is her excuse. And he's going to leave any day now. And how does he afford to live where he lives? He is full of mysteries. And hot.
She finally gives into their chemistry. Unfortunately, he leaves without saying goodbye.
But that is not the end. Not only does he find himself unable to stay away, when she's miserably sick with motion sickness he whisks her away to take care of her. Except they soon discover it wasn't just motion sickness. And while Fern tries to do what she thinks is the right thing by him, he surprises her by showing up and being there for her in every way.
As always there are so many intertwining moments in this world. Of course, we have the connection to the Everharts not only with Hazel being Elliot's ex but Fitz is his lawyer. Fern is a Spearman so we have quite a few connections there. But then there are also connections to the rest of Claudia's bookiverse. Finding those Easter eggs as I read always makes me smile.
Spearmans, Everharts, and more, lost love and found love, surprises and secrets, lots of family, lots of friends, difficult mothers, and a happily ever after plus lots of spicy fun and touch of angst (always) and some laughs, I devoured this book!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Along Came You (Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers Book #3) is the book that I’ve been waiting for. Claudia Burgoa has an amazing talent for writing engaging and binge worthy series and this book is no exception.
My goodness where do I even start?! Two words, Elliot McPhee!! This man has solidified a place in my heart as one of my top five favorite Claudia Burgoa characters. I desperately wanted him to get his happily ever after ever since he was introduced in Perfect For Me (Everhart Brothers #3). And finally, FINALLY Elliot gets his turn and second chance at love. But after losing his ex wife (who was the love of his life) to another man years ago, can he find long lasting love?
Elliot is beyond emotionally unavailable for so many reasons. He’s suffered devastating losses, heartbreak and trauma. He wholeheartedly believes that he’s undeserving of love, a relationship or a family of his own. He’s a billionaire but you would never know it since he travels around the world, donating his time and money to help build homes for less than fortunate people. He never stays in one place for longer than a few months at a time and he basically lives out of a back pack. He feels his penance is to give back to others and to make sure that his friends and family members are well taken care of. And he’s willing to sacrifice his happiness for the same.
Fate brings Fern Spearman into Elliot’s life and Claudia Burgoa couldn’t have matched him with a better woman. Fern is the oldest sister of the Spearman clan and a mother figure to her seven siblings. She loves her family dearly and is also selfless by always tending to her family’s needs and putting them before herself. Unfortunately, her perspective on love and relationships is a little jaded as well. When Elliot agrees to work on a project for Fern and the Spearman Foundation, things get heated and complicated between them. Feelings begin to surface and develop. Fiery, steamy and tantalizing moments are shared between the sheets. And while all of this is going on, Elliot has yet to reveal to Fern who he truly is.
I fell so hard for Elliot and Fern and they made my heart explode. Claudia Burgoa has weaved a brilliant and unforgettable story between two people who needed each other like they needed their next breath. I’m not going to lie, the angst worked my last nerve and I was emotionally spent. Even after reading “The End”, they are still lingering in my heart and soul. Along Came You is without a doubt one of the BEST books that this author has ever written, she outdid herself and she gave Elliot everything and so much more.
I’m not sure just how to write this review – I have so many things jumping out at me and it’s hard to pick up my favorite moment, but I think I fell in love with Elliot when he helped Fern when she was sick while being on the yacht. The way he took care of her was so endearing and sweet I just couldn’t help myself. His past has a firm grip on him, he sees himself as someone who will never love again like he loved his ex who was his first love. Or so he thinks because when Fern enters in his life all bets are off. Sure he still tries to stay away and only be her friend but when they ignite the spark it is impossible for them to walk away.
Fern might be one of my favorite characters I’ve read. She was strong, independent, fierce and was determined to survive Elliot if he decides to leave. It was also fun to see how little by little her heart began to open up and see just how much she means to him, and that the HEA is there for the taking.
I’ll finish this review with this; Another book another couple to love 😊

5 Star Review of Along Came You (Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers #3) by Claudia Y Burgoa
Having read and loved the the first two books in this latest series I was looking forward to reading Fern Spearman and Elliot McPhee ‘s story. I know when I pick up a book by Ms. Burgoa that I am in for an emotional, heart warming story with characters that are engaging and whose story you cannot help but become invested in. I love the Spearman family so when I heard this was Fern’s story I couldn’t wait to dive in. All it takes is one night to change the course of one’s life and that’s what happens for Fran and Elliot. After being badly hurt and still recovering from his divorce, Elliott has closed himself off to everyone. Until one night he throws caution to the wind and that is when the complications start. I loved the journey that Fran and Elliot embarked on and although it was rocky at times, it was entertaining. This was a great addition to the Paradise Bay series and I am excited for the next book in the series.
I am honestly dissatisfied. I went into this book expecting an accidental pregnancy trope, don't get me wrong, it is there but barely. The first 20% to 30% is focused on the relationship dynamics of the too many characters in this book. Bare in mind that the story ends at around 80%. Basically Fern the female mc doest get pregnant until half way to the story. What is the point of saying this is an accidental pregnancy book?
Secondly I feel like there were too many characters that it got to a point that I wasn't bothered to remember them. I swear every page had a new character. The is no relationship building between the MCs, the relationship is a bit to hard to believe. The is no tension, no angst, literally nothing. We are shown side characters more then the mcs, it was honestly dissapointing. I mean if I wanted to read a book about a family and relatives, I would have chosen one. Honestly dissapointed.
sorry but I don’t think it counts as a pregnancy trope book if she doesn’t even find out she’s pregnant until halfway through the book. also it was just badly written and executed
This is book three in the series and I am in love with the whole Spearman family dynamic. Elliot and Fern are the perfect compliment for each other. Each one yearning for love but never expecting they are good enough to have it. Blaming themselves for things that happened in their past. This was an emotional read and I was falling in love alongside the two of them. So glad to finally have Elliot’s HEA and Fern was the perfect one to give it to him. Loved the way this one played out. Great addition to the series... another fantastic read.
I was given an ARC but voluntarily chose to review
Elliot's that sibling - the wanderer, the recluse, but the time has come for him to settle down. Why? Well because Fern happens to him. A little bit of subterfuge, not telling her exactly who he is, some time spent together, and the permanent kind of consequences - all play a role in the elusive Elliot finally having the big epiphany needed to stay in one place and plant some roots.
Fern's a Spearman, but she's the one not doing crazy, splashy successful things. She runs their foundation and needs some help. When a guy, a gorgeous guy, happens along and offers help, of course she accepts. And finds love too. But Elliot's not one to stay in one place, so she has to accept this and determine that she'll work those consequences alone if she has to. But she might just have become the reason Elliot wants to finally stay put.
I knew when Elliot finally fell, he'd fall hard, and boy did he. Fern is absolutely the perfect person for him to fall for - with her big, non-judgmental heart, her big family, and gentle but strong nature. I loved these two, and was rooting them on from their first meeting.
Along Came You is the 3rd book in the Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers Book and is Fern Spearman’s story. When she meets the gorgeous Elliot McPhee she does not expect him to be her knight in shining armour who will help her achieve her dream of creating a community for the underprivileged through her non-profit organisation.
Both are committed to their careers and not looking for any form of relationship especially Elliot who is a drifter and does not stay in one place for too long. Fern is also fiercely protective of her family as she has been like a mother figure to her younger siblings since her father died and her mother fell apart.
Working closely together their attraction towards one another grows and it becomes more difficult for them to not act upon it. When one night of passion is shared, they both hope it will be what is needed to “scratch the itch”. However, life has other plans for the two of them and maybe this will be what keeps Elliot from running from his past and ground him once and for all!
Elliot and Fern were perfect together. I enjoyed their story which had the right amount of fun, laughs and spice!
The third interconnected standalone in the Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers series, Along Came You by Claudia Y. Burgoa, follows the story of CEO Elliot McPhee and his best friends younger sister Fern Spearman.
If you're a fan of insta-love, age gaps, friends to lovers, and brothers best friend then this book is for you!
I really enjoyed seeing Fern's interactions with her crazy siblings since they were a wonderful found family who always had each other's backs. I also appreciated that Fern and Eliot shared equal decision-making authority rather than one having more influence than the other.
However, I was underwhelmed with how the story was played out. There didn't seem to be any background information or chapters developing the Hero and Heroine's relationship, whether as friends or as lovers. There's also the fact that the story was way too rushed for my liking; practically every new chapter would involve a time leap of many months, which only served to confuse matters, and there would only be a brief paragraph or two describing what had happened.
Overall, I thought the ending was too hurried, and I would have liked to see more of the Hero and Heroine's journey and how they progressed!
Thank you to The Smuthood and to the author,Claudia Y. Burgoa, for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for an honest review!
This book brought me joy. A sense of closure for Elliot McPhee. A sense that he as finally put to rest the ghosts and pains of his past and found a new purpose. A sense of happiness for Fern Spearman, for finally giving her heart a chance to not only daring to ask for love but receive it. This is the third book in the Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers Series but it focuses on Fern, their sister. A beautiful story of two people that have been forced into parental roles at a young age, and then taken for granted for taking on that role. This leave both Elliot and Fern with scars that become a protective shell where their hearts a blocked from ever being in a situation where it can feel broken or cast away. Two souls that are looking for each other, only to find that their other half is younger or older than the other. Both finding one another at the perfect time in their lives, showing that they are ready to share a life with the other. Claudia has done it again, she has given us a story that will take over your heart and beg to be read and read over and over again.
After being burned by love in the past Elliot is determined to keep his relationships casual and to not be tied down by anyone or anything. When he meets Fern, he is drawn to her in a way he never expected and all he wants to do is lighten her load. What they shared, both personally and professionally, was supposed to be temporary but fate had other plans.
There is nothing that Fern won’t do for those she cares about despite what the consequences could be for her personally. There is no denying the attraction she feels for Elliot so what’s the harm in a little fun before he leaves town. She wasn’t expecting the curveball that life threw at her or the fact that she doesn’t really know Elliot at all.
This is a heartwarming story about love, family and finding your person when you least expect it. Both Fern and Elliott didn’t believe that romance and happy ever after would be part of their future, but they are about to realize that with the right person anything is possible.
Along Came You by Claudia Burgoa is the 3rd book in the Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers series. This is an age-gap, workplace, accidental pregnancy romance and it was so cute! Told from the 1st person, dual perspective it was interesting to see the character’s perspective while I was reading this heartwarming story.
Elliot and Fern have this amazing, explosive chemistry and I loved seeing both of them let go of their respective pasts and break down each other's walls. Like all of Claudia Burgoa’s books that I’ve read there is a large family presence in this book which I also loved. This story is one I know I’m going to be thinking about time and time again because it was so good!
Love this series Love the Mcphees and Spearmans All the feels Intense emotional heartstopping broken gripping love story of Elliott and Fern Ready for more
Merged review:
Love this series Love the McPhee and the Spearmans All the feels Intense emotional heartstopping broken love story of Fern and Elliott Ready for more
This was my first Claudia Burgoa book and I am HOOKED!! I loved this book so much and the male main character is 🥵! The way he was a wondering soul but then proved he could love her and that she is worthy of love! I loved it!! 5/5⭐️
Fern Spearman, director of her family's charitable foundation, hopes to build an affordable housing community outside of San Francisco but is having trouble lining up a contractor to help finalize the project's proposal and budget. After yet another meeting ends in frustration, Fern heads to a cafe for lunch and happens to meet Elliot McPhee, who volunteers to help her. What he fails to disclose is that he's actually the owner of the largest construction company on the West Coast, though he's no longer involved in the day-to-day operations. Instead, he's been doing volunteer work around the world in an effort to outrun the shadows of his past. Even though he never stays in one place for longer than a few months at a time, Elliot can't help being drawn to Fern and extending his stay so that he can be closer to her. Fern is equally drawn to Elliot but won't act on their attraction because he works for her. Besides, she's sworn off relationships after too many bad experiences in which men have either tried to take advantage of her because of her family's money or were intimidated by it. When the time finally comes for Elliot to move on to his next project, he and Fern agree to share a single night together, but it has unexpected consequences. Can Elliot convince Fern not only that he's ready to settle down and start a family, but that he feels more for her than just responsibility?
There were a lot of things I really enjoyed about this book, particularly the interactions between Fern and her siblings and the way they always had each other's backs. Burgoa is so good at creating large, lovable families and the Spearmans are among her best. However, the story itself felt rushed to me, especially near the end. There were a number of big time jumps (several months at a time) with just a paragraph or two to explain what had happened, and for me, that made it challenging to connect with the characters and the relationships they were building. Further, I wasn't a fan of Elliot's overly alpha behavior towards Fern near the end of the story. For example, he informed her that they'd be living together rather than asking her to move in with him. Up until that point, what I most liked about their relationship was that it felt like they were on an equal footing despite their age gap. It was tough to continue seeing them as equals when it seemed as if Elliot was dictating how their relationship was going to proceed and Fern just went along with whatever he wanted.
Even though this wasn't my favorite of Burgoa's books, I'd still recommend it and look forward to the next book in the series.
*Review copy provided by the author. All opinions expressed are my own.
Along Came You is the third book in the Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers. This has been a fun and amazing series to read, and each book gets better and better. I love the Spearman family and their witty sibling banter. They keep you on your toes and you never know what to expect. This was Fern Spearman’s book, and I was so happy to finally read her story. Fern was the oldest female sibling and had to help raise her three youngest siblings after her father died and her mother collapsed. She is committed to helping others and runs the Spearman Foundation. Her newest project was to build a low-income community so when Elliott offers to help, she can’t turn him down. Too bad she is attracted to him which inappropriate since he works for her. Elliott Spearman was running from his past and never stayed anywhere for any length of time. So, he doesn’t know why he sticks around for months working on Fern’s project when any of his employees could do the job. He can’t seem to resist the pull or his attraction to her. I have really enjoyed every book in this series and this one is certainly a book I recommend. It’s a heartbreaking book that will leave you with a smile in the end. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to be available. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another installment in the Paradise Bay series brings readers again to the Spearman family, more directly to Fern Spearman.
Fern has had to become the “mom” of her siblings. She, along with her older brothers take over where their mother left. Truly turning her into the person she has become. Always putting others needs before her own and trying to handle her mother has made Fern to busy to think of herself and what she wants.
Then along came Elliot, a wandering soul that also has his past shape who he is. He gives, but truly never receives. He is punishing himself for something beyond his control and is trying to make amends the way he thinks is best.
A chance meeting between Fern and Elliot causes sparks to fly and a working partnership that truly evolves to something more.
I absolutely love the way that Ms. Burgoa writes her hero’s, when they catch feelings, they don’t run and hide, they are brave and strong and not afraid to show their feelings and what their person means to them.
This story is going to give you all the feels, swoons included! Get your hands on this!
I enjoyed Fern and Elliot's story. Claudia Burgoa is an accidental pregnancy queen. I knew going in that this was an accidental pregnancy book, and then I just kept waiting for it to happen. Don't worry, all good things happen in their own time.
I think my favorite thing about this story is that Claudia Burgoa brought Elliot back and gave him his own love story. We first meet him in her book Perfect for Me, where he is Hazel's first love. He begins this book as a broken man. He runs from his family and his friends to avoid life. Then he meets Fern.
Fern is a strong member of the Spearman family. Along with her older brothers she stepped up after her father's death to help take care of their younger siblings. She has spent her life taking care of others.
Neither of them are looking for love, a relationship, or to start a family. But as most romance novels show us, love will come along ready or not.
This is the third book in this amazing series, and this is Elliot and Fern’s story. Elliot is mysterious, complex, and a recluse, who is jaded after a divorce, and the last things he wants is any relationships, while Fern, is strong, caring, and hardworking, and she takes care of everyone else. The chemistry between these two is combustible and undeniable, and one night of passion leads to a complication neither expected. This is a well written story which is sweet, emotionally charged, and with family, romance, passion, overcome challenges, trust, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Wildfire Marketing Solutions and am voluntarily leaving a review.
We first met Elliot in Perfect for Me (book 3 in the Everhart Brothers series), but you don't necessarily need to read that book to enjoy this one, as things are explained.
"I avoid relationships of any kind, settling down, and commitments. I'm a drifter."
When Fern Spearman and Elliot McPhee first meet, there is instant attraction but neither are looking for a relationship. Fern is busy organising her siblings and throwing herself into the charitable foundation that she runs, and Elliot is never in one place for long. It's clear that they're both in avoidance mode when it comes to their personal issues.
"The way he looks at me, it's like I'm everything he wants and needs from life."
When they finally give in to their desires, their connection and chemistry is sizzling! However, Elliot disappears - leaving something of himself behind - and no one is more surprised than Fern when he steps up on learning her life-changing news, and more so when it appears that he wants her for the long haul.
"Instead of flushing her out of my system, I want her even more than I did while I was inside her, filling her with my soul."
I was rooting for these two all the way. Both had fears and their pasts to overcome. Fern was incredibly independent, but I think she just wanted to be loved for herself. I actually loved that Elliot bulldozed his attentions and care on her. He understood her so well and I adored him for his thoughtful ways and the fact that, as soon he found about the baby, everything he thought was out of reach for him was suddenly so simple and and there for the taking. She was the game changer for him. This was such a gorgeous story, with a bit of family drama, plenty of sibling camaraderie, and I may have shed a little emotional tear, too!
This is the third book in the Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers series and is Elliott and Fern's story. Fern doesn't really have time for a relationship, she's the eldest of her siblings has has always been more of a mother than a sister. Their lives always come before her own, plus she's running a charitable organisation but then she meets Elliott. They have an instant connection but there is more to Elliott than there first seems. He's dealt with loss in his life and after his divorce he steers away from relationships. Almost immediately Elliott knows that Fern is different and when Fern has news for him Elliott has to decide if he's ready to prove his love for Fern or will he walk away forever.
Although I did enjoy this book I did feel like it was rushed, especially towards the end, I would have liked to have seen a little more to their story.
Claudia Burgoa has done it again! I absolutely loved Along Came You; it is an incredible love at first sight love story. It is the third book in her Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers series. Along Came You is my favorite in the series and I am looking forward to reading the remaining books in the series. Claudia Burgoa shows that she is an amazing storyteller and has once again provided her readers with amazing characters. I love all the characters in Along Came You, they feel like family! Along Came You filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, I could not put it down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I love how Claudia Burgoa always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Along Came You is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments that I have come to love and expect in Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Along Came You is a love at first sight love story between Fern Spearman, who runs the JS Foundation and Elliott McPhee, owner of North Bay Construction. Fern and Elliott meet in a local coffee shop. Elliot invites Fern to sit with him. Fern complains to Elliott about how North Bay Construction backed out of her Brentwood Harbor project, unbeknownst to Fern that Elliott owns North Bay Construction. Elliott does not reveal his real identity or net worth to Fern and volunteers to head the project in Brentwood Harbor, a low-income housing plan. As Fern and Elliott work together on the Brentwood Harbor project they begin a romantic relationship. As they spend more time together, things begin to change between them. Elliott never stays in any one place long, so he is anticipating leaving following his time with the Brentwood Harbor project. They share secrets that they have not revealed to each other before. I love the chemistry between Elliott and Fern. I love that both Elliott and Fern were both so vulnerable and that each of them changes because of their love for one another. I love how they share things that they have never shared before, especially the secrets that Fern shares about her life after the vineyard burned and her father died and Elliott shares regarding his relationship with his ex-wife, the accident that he feels responsible for that killed his mother, sister, and nieces and how he has no interest in marrying again. I love all the things that Elliott has secretly does for Fern and her Brentwood Harbor project, but he does not reveal that he is behind everything. A surprise plot twist changes things between them, which included a heartbreaking statement from Elliott. I love the surprise, and Elliott’s reaction to the surprise. I love how everything gets so beautifully resolved between them. I loved Elliott’s proposal, and how it was unexpected. I also love how the epilogue went above and beyond a happily ever after. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Along Came You, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Spearman family, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Spearman siblings especially their teasing that made me laugh. I loved all the characters in Along Came You, and I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Along Came You, who does not love a love at first sight love story? Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
OMG, Elliot is definitely swoon-worthy!! Elliot McPhee and Fern Spearman stole my heart! Claudia Burgoa is the queen of family sagas, and she did it again! This is the 3rd book in the Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers series. This book had everything—it was hot, it was sassy, it was an emotional rollercoaster, it had witty banter, it gave me butterflies, and it will make you fall in love. A love so unexpected, a love so pure you can’t stop reading about it! This book left me wonderfully content at its conclusion.
When Elliot and Fern first meet by chance at a coffee shop, there is instant attraction, but Elliot just wanted to help Fern because she looked so distraught. Elliot is a billionaire who owns the largest construction company on the West Coast, but he would never let anyone know it because he volunteers his time around the world building homes for the less fortunate. Fern is the oldest sister in the Spearman family who acts motherly towards her siblings, organizes family events, and she is in charge of the Spearman Foundation. Not knowing who Elliot is, Fern hires Elliot to help with a project for the Foundation. Elliot is smitten with the sassy, feisty, and obstinate beautiful Fern. Being attracted to Elliot, Fern broke one of her rules—do not sleep with the devastatingly HOT employee. She told herself it was only a one-night stand—nothing more, right! Their chemistry is off-the-charts. There is a reason why Elliot doesn’t want a committed relationship. Will Fern find out the reason(s) why? Everything about Elliot and Fern seemed too good to be true, but none of that mattered until a situation turns Fern’s life upside down. What will Fern do now? Will they get their HEA? Find out what happened—what a conundrum! If you are looking for a story with all the feels, this one is for you. This is a book I can read over and over again. Claudia Burgoa writes a dynamic story about love, forgiveness, second chance, and family. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Along Came You was an unexpected pregnancy quite different from what I have read before and I have to say that I liked the change SO much, besides that It helped me learn much more about Fern, about the beautiful relationship that the Spearman siblings have with each other and with their mother, it was also my first approach to Elliot's character which I loved, and his love story with Fern made me fall in love very much and made me enjoy the book enormously, especially the last half that was a roller coaster of emotions & so worth it.
I think that Fern was one of the Spearmans that we knew the least until now, and something that I really liked about her character was knowing the beautiful and strong relationship she has with her brothers: I already knew that she and the triplets were the ones who had taken care of the rest of their siblings, but until now I hadn't come to understand the importance of Fern as a mother figure for all of them , and I have to say that there was a specific scene between her and Hux from Elliot's point of view that melted my heart and helped me a lot to see this aspect of their relationship. And precisely because of the family situation that Fern had to face with her brothers she has grown as a totally independent, hard-working woman who continues to care a lot about her siblings but doesn't let anyone take care of her , one of the things that I liked the most about his character was his commitment to his work and his desire to help those who need it, which shows his big heart.
Elliot is a slightly more complex character: he has many situations in his past that he hasn't been able to resolve, that have made him distance himself from his loved ones and avoid any type of commitment, however, he's always there for his family when they need him, he is friendly, flirtatious and a very good person. I found his personal story very interesting, I really liked his attitude towards Fern from beginning to end, and the way his character grew throughout the book. In addition to the beautiful relationship that he developed with the Spearmans and the friendship that he formed with them took me by surprise but I quite liked it.
I have to say that at the beginning of the book I had the feeling that Claudia Y. Burgoashowed us Fern & Elliot very separately, I think I missed seeing more of their first months working together and avoiding their feelings for each other, because boy, did these two ignore their attraction for a long time! But when they get to the point where they can no longer help what the other makes them feel, everything was amazing!, their relationship was very fun, sensual, tender and one in which both, Fern and Elliot found what they didn't even know their lives needed, however, Elliot & Fern have many things to solve, he has not been completely honest with her about his life and who he really is, and when they discover the consequences of their nights together they are forced to confront their new reality and make the most terrifying changes of their lives.
Until now I think we hadn't had a complete picture of the relationship that the Spearman siblings had & have with their mother, and with each other. And with Along Came You that changed a lot: I can already say with confidence that I hate the way their mom treats them all, especially Fern, I love how they ALWAYS support each other and how the triplets are the ones the little ones always turn to when they need some advice, besides that now I'm very curious to read Lysander's story and I think I can already say that this family is one of my favorites by the author.

This is book three in The Paradise Bay Billionaire Brother's Series and it is Elliot and Fern's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Elliot is a billionaire, drifter, keeps to himself, has many secret's, a lot of baggage, runs away from commitment and relationships, divorced but makes sure that his family never wants for anything and puts a lot back into the community but he carries so much guilt and feels like he doesn't deserve love of happiness and my heart completely broke for everything that he had been through when all he wanted and tried to do was keep his family together and make sure that they had a roof over there heads and food to eat and now in a coffee shop he meets Fern and she intrigued him and he ends up helping her with her non profit organisation by proving his time and helping her build a community but what he doesn't realise is that his life is about to change. Fern has gone through so much in her life, doesn't trust easily, works so hard, keeps a tight reign on her emotions, doesn't except help and needs to be in control but will do anything for anyone but when she is turned down for the help she needed for her non profit organisation she goes to the coffee shop and that is where she meets Elliot who offers to help her, my heart broke for Fern and everything that she had been through and still going through because of her mother but she still carried on and was there for her family. This Book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and I cried so much with everything that they had both been through but I still couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive and a real page turner that kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what would happen next and I absolutely loved the outcome. The attraction and chemistry between Elliot and Fern was so strong right from the start but as they work together neither will cross that line but Fern can't seem to get a read on him and knows that he is holding back and that he is leaving soon and has secret's but what will happen when they are all revealed. I loved watching Elliot and Fern together and how they grew stronger and started to trust each other and it just showed that with the right person by your side anything is possible. Claudia Burgoa is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of their seats and her story's have so much depth to them and that is what makes you go back time and time again to read her book's and I definitely recommend you read them and you will not be disappointed.
