Where lives are made…Or broken.

Life in the fringe colonies is tough, but to Dante it’s home. Captain of the Xeartais crew, he leads a ragtag bunch of miscreants just trying to survive. But not everyone at the local space station plays fair. When Dante decides to unite several crews in an alliance it causes a ripple effect that will either tip the scales for good or end in ruin.

Kit is running from the stifling life others wanted her to lead. When she arrives on Ephren and runs into the Xeartais crew, she wonders if she’s finally found somewhere she belongs, but she brings her own issues with her, and life in the alliance isn’t exactly safe.

Can Kit and Dante keep the alliance mates safe from pirates, alien threats, and all the usual dangers of a colony, or have they both gotten in far too deep?

With the pirates uniting behind a single leader as well, only one thing is for sure: Those who can fly, must. And every good mate counts.

Read this book and you will be looking for more of her books!

An outstanding story that will be difficult to be picked down. The development of the characters is a treat to watch develop. The story progresses from one surprise to another and catches the readers attention without fail. Now I need to purchase the next book in the series.

Good read

I really didn't expect to like this book. Space pirates who dress like Captain Blood and use swords instead of blasters? But somehow it worked! I really enjoyed reading this book, and look forward to reading the next installment.

A fun read

A bit simplistic with some... improbabilities, but a pleasant diversion nonetheless. No pretentions, plausible characters and a fairly simple plot

Space opera at its swashbuckling best.

In short: wonderful introduction to what is sure to be an even better series.

Kit is a down and not-quite-out cargo hauler, captain of the Jaunty Camper, a ship that her first mate (and entire crew) has purchased on her behalf. It’s unfortunate that his motivations were to keep her working with him instead of flying off to find a new home. She’s caught wind of a place called Ephrem, so she’s off looking for more work to pay for this jalopy of a cargo ship.

Out in the depths of space, Dante is on the planet Ephrem being fleeced yet again by a two-bit hoodlum who controls all the goods and services that land on the planet. He’s sick of it.

Together, he and Kit are going to put the boots to the pirates and in the process, they just might start something dynastic. Welcome to the Aerie.

Space Kit

A 'friend' obtaining a spacecraft that is little more than a badly put together kit for her Kit Jackson flies to Ephren, a space station to join a team she heard of. On the way they are attacked by a pirate but best him. By a series of coincidences she meets them and thus has further adventures.

Entertaining sci fi adventure

The worldbuilding is good, the characters are interesting, and the story is well-written. Kit is younger than I expected, and there are hints of a love triangle (which I don't like), but I enjoyed the story.

Excellent story story

Swashbuckling pirates in space with heroes and bad guys. The story is painted on a canvas of multiple stars and a range of characters.
