After ending his shift, the worst day of his life, Arata Kishima goes out with his fellow work mates for a pharmaceutical company have a meal at an expensive restaurant and discuss the day's events. While everyone enjoys themselves, he feels the odd one out as he finds it hard to talk to anyone let alone those he works with, and while the others later go on to drink at another bar, he instead goes to a bar on his own.
There he meets a guy, Koshi Yanagi who asks him to go somewhere else to drink, somewhere quieter, but his plans change once he checks the soon drunken boy into Blue Moon Hotel for a wild night of debauched sex, and once he discovers the boy is a virgin, he uses his body all the more finding the sex he had that night was the most satisfying ever!
The next morning Arata pushes him away, denying that night ever happened. Hurt and angry at being used, Koshi turns up at his friend's place, Ten and tells him all about the night. The second shock for him is when Arata walks through the door and discovers Arata and Ten are both brothers, Arata being the youngest!
When he tries to talk to him, all he gets is snubbed, so he decides to teach the boy a lesson. If he does not want his brother to know he has had sex with him, then he has to become his sex slave!
'Breath' is page after page of sensual, unadulterated love-making coupled with a rewarding story of love at first sight. It is just a pity uke Arata does not feel the same way even though he realises in later pages Koshi cares about him. It is an up-beat story of how two men find love in the strangest way possible – also spicing it up is Arata's brother being Koshi's friend. That bombshell alone ensures their love will endure as what guy would like their own brother to know about their true sexuality, certainly not Arata unless he truly does develop feelings for him at some point.
Funnier also is that Arata unwittingly met him at a gay bar and that Koshi constantly scolds him for not eating before he meets him as his sex slave at his chosen location.
The artwork is as detailed as it gets, the characters drawn in the traditional style by Chifumi Ochi, a new and promising manga-ka who brought fans the steamy series Honey Senior, Darling Junior. Her skill is noticeable by the technique she uses and the general polished look of the art itself.
Undoubtedly a fun and interesting read for those who like to see their yaoi hot and daring.

If the first volume is any indication, this is going to be a great series. The art is nice and the story is interesting. Yanagi is not the most sympathetic character, really he seems to be quite a jerk and I wonder what's going to happen as the story goes on. Glad I had other volumes to read! Definitely a great find at a used bookshop.

I had postponed reading this. I really hadn't meant to do so just kinda forgot about it. I did like this but I felt it was very pushy. I'm not one for rape or slavery yaoi because that just makes it feel weird. This was a bit like that. I'm hoping that they will actually find love and not just this.

I collected the whole set and sold for a nice profit since they were out of print but the books themselves were boring to me and I quite reading the series. Too much smut vs. plot and boring to boot.

One night of drunken debauchery leads Arata to becoming a more or less a sex slave to Yanagi. I have to admit, it takes me a while to even like Yanagi. Lovely artwork.

This is as sexy and sensual as it is cute; and as far as I could tell it's very cute indeed. I like how the two characters get together and how one has to get over being so cautious with opening up about himself.
The fainting due to not eating enough seems like an odd way to show the ukes failings, but his new would be lover just wants to take care of him.
As far as I can tell, this is one of three novels in the series, so I plan on getting the last two.

Volume one was a great start. This one may not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it, and I'm ready to pop open volume 2.
