On this uniquely forthright and captivating CD program—recorded live—psychic/bestselling author Sylvia Browne addresses the fascinating concepts surrounding angels and spirit guides. Every religion has angels, Sylvia tells us. Different from spirit guides, angels are spiritual messengers who are available to help us if we will simply ask for their assistance. Sylvia goes on to discuss the properties of angels; the true nature of God, good, evil, and the Other Side; and explains how we can overcome guilt, accept ourselves, and thereby understand our own particular “contract.” In the second half of the program, Sylvia leads a meditation that invokes the presence of our angels and individual spirit guides, and invites them to communicate with us. We feel their protection, receive their healing, and with Sylvia’s encouragement, learn how to ask them for the help we desire.
Sylvia Browne was an American author and self-proclaimed psychic who built a lucrative career through books, television appearances, and psychic readings. Known for her frequent guest spots on The Montel Williams Show and Larry King Live, she claimed to communicate with angels, spirit guides, and the deceased, and said she had psychic visions from the age of three. In 1986, she founded the Society of Novus Spiritus, a Gnostic Christian church, and ran a variety of businesses, reportedly earning millions annually. Browne wrote over 40 books, many of which were bestsellers, and maintained a dedicated fanbase throughout her life. However, her career was marked by controversy. She made numerous high-profile predictions about missing persons and criminal cases that were later proven false—errors that drew widespread criticism and scrutiny from skeptics and media outlets. A 2010 study by the Skeptical Inquirer concluded she had not been accurate in any verifiable case. Her reputation suffered further after her 1992 conviction for securities fraud. Despite criticism from figures like James Randi and John Oliver, Browne retained a devoted following. Her vague prediction about a “pneumonia-like illness” spreading around 2020 drew renewed attention during the COVID-19 pandemic. She remained a polarizing figure—revered by some, discredited by others—until her death in 2013 at the age of 77.
I fell in love with Sylvia Browne after first listening to this amazing recording. She is witty, she is fun, she is so down to earth that you can FINALLY relax and realize: no, you are NOT crazy for not being able to keep your mind empty during those two meditation attempts and no, you are not schizophrenic for SENSING with all the square meters of skin on your body the presence of SOMEONE on the back sit of your car.
Yes, your Angels are with you.
And the Spirit Guides, too.
Perhaps, they DO have wings. I was in the gym and HAD to stop tummy-crunches and laugh out loud (for the whole two minutes!!) listening to Sylvia describing how she learned THAT fact. When I was listening to this book for the third time, I was STILL laughing at this and many other revelations from Sylvia.
The guided meditation she shared at the end of this program is my favorite ever for now.
You NEED this audio book, for the sheer example of light hart-ed attitude to life, filled with simple knowledge of existence beyond the veil.
I have listened to this book at least five times and am going to again :)
I bought this for my Daughter as a Christmas gift while attending a live seminar in AZ with Sylvia Browne. She is amazing and has so much good energy. This is a beautiful CD and I have heard it with my Daughter many times. It always brings me comfort and peace. I recommend getting this!
Listened to the audio of this book and found that it's actually a recording of one of her sessions. I found her very funny. Also found some of the specificity of her prayers as an interesting format.
Well, this book was not comprehensive in any way. It is a recording of a live seminar that Sylvia Browne presented in the early 2000s, so I think there was an effort to cram in as much as possible. I didn't really learn anything from this audiobook other than the fact that Browne has an irreverent approach to otherworldly phenomena. As a psychic, she advocated for some things and denied the existence of others, which in the context of her presentation seemed contradictory. This was maybe not the best foray into her work, but I am willing to give her another shot sometime in the future.
