When a fairytale character is gifted a knife which can cut through anything, she uses it to escape from the pages of her book—only to find that the real world is just as cruel and unforgiving as her own.
Three years later, Harrow sets out to track down the reclusive author of her book, Tales of the Harrowed, in order to find her way home. Her plans soon change when she realizes that she is not the only character to have stumbled onto the streets of New York—and that they do not intend on leaving the story unfinished.
But Harrow is through with letting other people determine her fate. She has never been a damsel in distress; only . . . she’s not certain if that leaves her as the hero or the villain.
