Falcon Point Suspense #1

The Danger with Diamonds

Rate this book
Some secrets are worth keeping. Others are not.

When Lars Hendriks arranges to meet Marit Jansen in Vienna, he is hoping their friendship will blossom into romance. What he doesn’t expect is a surprise visit from his cousin Cole or the loose diamonds he brings with him.

As a CIA operative, Cole Bridger is used to uncertainty, but when his work takes him back to Vienna, he looks forward to reconnecting with Isabelle Roberts, the fellow agent he dated briefly before duty took him away from Austria. Unfortunately, his silence over the last few months has created a chasm he can’t cross without help. He barely takes a step toward repairing the damaged relationship when a brazen jewel heist seemingly links Cole, Lars, Marit, and Isabelle to the crime. The group is drawn into a deadly mystery, and once again, the treasures of Falcon Point are threatened. It doesn’t take long for them to realize they have stumbled upon something far bigger and more dangerous than a simple robbery. And someone on the inside knows it.

Wow! Another amazing book by two awesome authors. The Danger with Diamonds is a companion novel to Heirs of Falcon Point. I was beyond excited to hear that there was going to be another book. I knew that some of the characters still had a story that needed to be told. It was fun to see Lars and Cole again and get to read their story.
Cole was a CIA Operative. He was used to being undercover and working under pressure but he was not used to courting a girl. It was sweet to read about Cole fighting for Isabelle, but Cole also had to figure out how to find his family’s jewels. Isabelle was so cool. I loved how she was able to handle herself and yet she knew when she needed help. Isabelle was hurt when Cole ghosted her but she was willing to put aside her feelings to get to the bottom of the heist. However, as Cole and Isabelle spent time together, they found themselves falling for each other.
Lars was a sweetheart. I really liked him. You didn’t get to see much of him in the last book so it was cool to learn more about him. He wasn’t an operative but he wasn’t willing to let his family’s jewels just be taken. It was cool to see Lars step up and fight. Marit was also wonderful. She was one of Lars’ closest friends and it was sweet to read about them falling in love. Marit had to learn to trust Lars and his family especially as things got complicated. Marit and Lars always had a connection but as they interacted, it grew to more.
It was interesting to read about Cole and Lars and see them falling in love. I loved both of the characters and reading about their romance. They were both unique characters and they made the book fun to read. All of the characters had a part to play that was exciting to see. The characters were likable and I was able to connect with them. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out how this story was going to end. The plot was engaging and I didn’t know what they were going to find out about the bank heist.
The Danger with Diamonds is a must read! It is an exciting suspenseful romance. I felt as if this was the perfect blind of romance and suspense. I am crossing my fingers that there will be more books to come in this series.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I absolutely loved this book! It seriously has everything in it!!! Danger, suspense, humor (like I was giggling so hard over these characters), covert operations, carriage rides, jewels, bank heists, beautiful gowns, penguin suits (ok, just tuxedos), ghosts (not real ones, you have to read Traci's other books to understand that reference), fantastic characters, and two couples trying to figure out their feelings.

Seriously I love this book! I read an early copy and then when the book released, I instantly downloaded the audiobook and listened to it again. I'm thinking about listening to it again soon. These characters are just so much fun! Have you read the first book, Heirs of Falcon Point? You don't have to read it, but honestly, it is soooo good and worth reading as well. It's a prequel novel for this series and sets up who these cousins are and the jewels and so much more! Definitely worth the read or listen (yes, I've read it a couple times and listened to it a couple times already as well-I can't help it, it's that good!!!)!!!

Cole, Lars, Marit, and Isabelle will keep you turning pages, cheering them on and waiting to see what great one liners will come out of their mouths next. And what sweet gestures they might have up their sleeves. I loved that all four of these characters were in this adventure together.

Content: Clean. There are some mild moments of peril. Some fights, some guns but nothing overly graphic. The romance is all squeaky clean with only some kisses.

I received a copy from the publisher, Covenant Communications, via NetGalley. But have also purchased my own copy! All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

I've been looking forward to this book for so long! We first get to know these characters in The Heirs of Falcon Point and what a happy day it was when the authors announced that there was more to come for this family. I love romantic suspense and I love these authors! It's a great combination for me!

I would sure love a TV series or a movie based on this book and this family! I could picture it all that way as I read it. That's how you know something great is happening. This book had a great forward momentum that also allowed for character connection and emotion. There was danger around every corner and some lovely romantic moments. I read through the whole book quickly and didn't want it to end. I hope the next book comes soon!! Love, love, love.

Content: peril, mild violence, kissing

CIA agent, Cole Bridger, finds himself embroiled in a case that becomes much larger than he originally thought. I am glad he has help from fellow agent, Isabelle Roberts, his cousin, Lars Hendricks, and friend Marit Jansen, because he is going to need it!

There are so many things that made this story a page-turner where I felt like I was part of the story that I thought it would just be easier to list them.

Things I loved:

Vienna: the buildings, the history, the food

High octane adventure

Mystery and intrigue

Newly connected cousins

Romance- not just one couple, but two!

A ball with gorgeous gowns and cool stopping bad guys moves

Carriage rides

Roses

Toilet plunger weapon

While this is the second book in the Falcon Point Suspense series, it can be read as a standalone. But, I would recommend you read the first book, Heirs of Falcon Point, for the history of this story. Plus, it is an award-winning suspense that you don't want to miss either.

What an absolute wild ride from beginning to ending! It's fast-paced, has loads of intrigue and nefarious characters, and the romance is sweet and swoony.

Despite being told in four POVs, the narrative is easy to follow and it informs the reader will of everything going on.

I thoroughly enjoyed the European setting, the history, and the family connection to the first book in the series.

Make sure you read the first book before reading this one.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

I have looked forward to reading this book for quite a while. In my excitement, I pre-ordered two copies. I guess I needed to make sure I owned this book.

Lars, Merit, Cole, and Isabelle are the main characters in this story. I met them in the first book Heirs of Falcon Point. This story takes place several months after the first. You don't have to read the first book to start this one, but it is nice to know the back story.

The book starts with a bang when Cole is liberating a hostage in Budapest. He works with fantastic operatives who you get to know in another series by Traci Hunter Abramson. They confiscate a bag of diamonds worth over a million dollars.

Eventually, the characters are in Vienna and are subject to a bank heist where the confiscated jewels and some of Cole and Lars family jewels are stolen. The book is basically non-stop excitement from the beginning to the end.

I loved getting to know the characters better. Cole and Lars are cousins who recently found each other. Their connection and banter are fantastic. They definitely kept me amused. Cole wants a relationship with Isabelle, but he basically messed up his first chance. He hopes for second chances and forgiveness. Lars and Merit have been in the friend zone for a long time. Both wish for that relationship to progress to something more. There were sparks when they finally took their relationship to another level. They encourage Cole and Isabelle to head in the same direction.

The book has a lot of mystery. The group looks for clues to determine who stole the jewels and how they relate to the people in Budapest. There is also the possibility of inside information being passed to the bad guys. I found myself glued to the book to find out how the puzzle pieces fit together.

This is a wonderful book full of romance and suspense. There is non-graphic violence.

Source: I received a complimentary copy. I also have two copies of the book. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

All the stars or in this case diamonds for this book! I love it when reading a book feels like watching an amazing movie in your head. The Danger With Diamonds was that & more. Romance, humor, action, & suspense, this book has it all! There’s also gorgeous jewelry & high fashion gowns.

I devoured this book! It’s the highly anticipated next book in the Heirs of Falcon Point series and boy does it deliver. From the get go, there’s non-stop action beginning with a stake out & stolen diamonds. From there, it keeps building to the exciting conclusion.

Hoping for more than friendship, Lars invites Marit, while the two are in Vienna, to the bank vault while he photographs the precious Falcon Point jewelry. His cousin Cole, a secret CIA agent, also shows up with a loose bag of diamonds he needs to temporarily keep in the vault.

Cole is hoping to rekindle his relationship with Isabelle who’s working undercover at the bank. This proves harder than he thinks. Isabelle was hurt when Cole left for months and didn’t contact her. It’s going to take some pretty grand gestures to win her over again.

The four get caught up in a bank robbery where some of the Flacon Point jewels are stolen, but who’s behind the heist and is there someone on the inside who’s responsible? Lars, Marit, Isabelle & Cole must work together to find the suspects and recover the family jewels.

The romance between these two couples is so good! Carriage rides, romantic gestures, a library I’d love to visit someday, waltzing, and swoony kisses were some of my favorite moments. The witty banter between Lars and Cole is fantastic. I loved Cole trying to teach Lars to dance and the good natured teasing. The action is suspenseful, non-stop, & keeps you on the edge of your seat! Isabelle has some mad driving & fighting skills! There’s also some great side characters in Jasmine & Cass, who Traci Abramson fans will recognize from her Guardian series!

This is definitely one you’ll want on your TBR list! It can be read as a standalone, but is more enjoyable if you’ve read Heirs of Falcon Point. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the authors and publisher. All opinions are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review.

This book takes the reader on a wild adventure with some really great characters! I loved every bit of it. If you haven’t read Heirs of Falcon Point yet, you really should before reading this one. It’s such a great book though, you’ll want to read it anyway!

I loved the way there are four main characters in this book, Cole, Lars, Marit and Isabelle. And you see the events of the story through their unique perspectives. It just keeps the story flowing. And the reader interested in what will happen next.

Cole and Isabelle both work for the CIA. They’ve done a great job keeping their covers. So that even Lars, Cole’s cousin, doesn’t know what he does for a living. Lars is a photographer. And Marit is a model. These four just work so well together. I loved that Cole gets permission for Marit and Lars to help in the little way they each can. And that they help him with his relationship as well.

This book has so much action and craziness in it. You’ll want to keep reading until you get to the very end!

This was a book club read...and I'm not sure if this one would have landed within my radar on it's own.

I liked the overall story with trying to get the diamonds and jewelry back into the right hands. And I liked how the author built upon the relationships. There was a certain balance there that I appreciated. Even though this book was mostly just "okay" for me, I added a star for the story and the characters.

However, the writing felt a little too clinical which made the predictability too easy. I needed more fleshing out....and some twists. Some well placed descriptive strokes would have helped...and I'm not talking about the color of things or the info dumping. All in all, 3 stars.

If you're not sure what kind of book you want to read, The Danger With Diamonds will fit any reader's needs. Do you want romance? You get a double dose of that in this book. How about a little action adventure? Hold onto your hats. There is action in every chapter that keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat. If you like a book full of mystery and suspense, then this book will keep you guessing all the way through. Maybe you're in the mood for some humor? This novel also has plenty of that.

I loved the original book in this series, Heirs of Falcon Point. I thought that there was no way any sequel would be as good as the first. I'm happy to say that The Danger With Diamonds completely blew away that theory. I loved this book so much. The four main characters, Lars, Cole, Marit, and Isabelle all contribute so much to the story. I loved how these two authors seamlessly wove their stories together. Some other things I loved were the setting, carriage rides, roses, ballgowns, robberies, kidnappings, and of course...lots of sparkling diamonds. Oh, I forgot to mention the long, anticipated kisses. **sigh**

You don't have to read Heirs of Falcon Point to enjoy this novel but it will make a more rounded experience. Congrats to the authors for writing such an amazing book. I know that readers are going to devour this book and be wanting more. Don't wait to pick up your copy and start reading this 5-star romantic, action-adventure and be blown away from the first page until the last.

The Danger with Diamonds should have been titled Don’t Many Any Plans Until You’re Done Reading. I really enjoyed the action scenes, mixed with some great romance of the two couples, and their developing relationships. I loved how the authors would change of point of views during the highest peaks of action. It made the book impossible to put down. I think my favorite character was Isabelle. She’s tough as nails, and vulnerable at the same time. Marit was also amazing. So smart and aware, all the time. Don’t get me wrong, the cousins were great too. But I can’t really talk about my other favorite characters without spoilers. This was a great read, full of action, exciting twists and turns and excellent, smart characters.

From the turn of the first page, readers will be on the edge of their seat with this action packed mystery and suspense filled tale. The story picks up where the prequel left off and continues the story of the Falcon Point Heirs, focusing on Cole, Lars, Marit, and Isabelle. The authors are fantastic at weaving multiple storylines and romances throughout the story, making it easy for readers to not only follow the storyline, but fall in love with the characters. "I need a favor"

"This is becoming a habit...”

Before I get started with my review, let me tell these two authors that I am like Cole in this situation & 'I need a favor' (and yes, this is probably becoming a habit with me) but, I NEED MORE of your books!

They are perfection!

These books are unique with multiple authors contributing to the storyline and the writing is seamless.

Absolute perfection, my friends and you really do need to be reading them!

Full synopsis in the comments.

We need to chat about this book and I need all the character spaces I can get!

Let me tell you what you're going to get from this book:

Humor? ✔️

Suspense? ✔️✔️

Romance? ✔️✔️& double ✔️

THIS BOOK IS FANTASTIC! It has been dubbed a sleep stealer-accurate-I couldn't put it down. I loved the dual stories & multiple points of view. The suspense was intense in the best way-keep the pages turning, but let me sleep through the night...at least once you finish the book😉 The romance was top notch, & the little bouts of humor/banter make this a favorite!

When reading this book be aware that you will lose sleep, skip your to-do list, crave viennese food & desperately want to travel to Vienna. You might also be left wanting to practice combat moves & nascar evasive skills.

All of the stars! Two thumbs up!

GET YOURSELF THIS BOOK!

It could be read as a stand alone, but if you haven't read Heirs of Falcon Point yet, do yourself a favor and add that to cart too because it’s FANTASTIC!

Thanks to the publisher & NetGalley for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

Wonderful follow up to Heirs of Falcon Point. For reasons I don’t understand this is #1 and the book setting up this new series is #0. Co-written by Abramson and Bessey this is an exciting international spy mystery. The setting is the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria and I love that I’ve been to many of the locations the characters visit. CIA agent Cole recovers diamonds during a rescue operation and he secures them at the bank where fellow agent Isabelle works. It is also the same bank where the Falcon family jewels are being stored and his cousin Lars happens to be there documenting them. Cole ask Lars to evaluate the diamonds they’ve recovered. Lars is in a fairly new relationship with Merit, a model. All together the next day they are at the bank when a robbery occurs with the recovered diamonds and the family jewelry as the primary targets. The four work together with the help of Ghost trying to figure out who is behind the theft and how it ties to a possible mole in the agency.

Some parts are so sweet and fun and I love there is romance in the air for both couples. Cole and Lars have fun banter between them. And Merit and Isabelle are wonderful as new friends who are equally helpful in solving the case. Everyone gets moments to shine. There is just the right amount of romance, mystery and action. And as I said the locations enhanced by enjoyment as I could envision places like the palace and national library as I read.

This can be read as a stand alone, but I liked knowing the background of the MCs from the set up novel. The original Heirs of Falcon Point was written by four authors so I assume the other two authors are working on the next book in the series following other characters. I will look for more from the current authors and any books that continue this series. This publisher and authors write clean books for language. There is some kissing and minimal violence (shooting and fighting). Thank you to NetGalley, Covenant Communications and the authors for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Danger with Diamonds is book one in the Falcon Point Suspense series. This book is written by Traci Hunter Abramson and Sian Ann Bessey. The characters were previously introduced in a book called The Heirs off Falcon Point, which I have not read but did not affect the story at all. The authors did a good job creating a lot of backstory within the book so that you do not feel left out. I loved this book and did not want to put it down. There is a lot of action and suspense throughout the whole book.

Cole is a CIA operative. He had previously been dating Isabelle. However, with the nature of his work he felt it was going to be hard (and he is just stubborn) to be trying to date long distance. Isabelle works at a bank. She monitors accounts that have suspicious activity on them. Lars is Cole's cousin. He made me laugh alot. Marit is a model and Lars girlfriend. I really liked the 4 of these characters. Cole finds a bag of diamonds while on an investigation. He brings it to the bank and they place them in the safe deposit box along with other Falcon Point jewelry pieces. However, the bad guys that they took these diamonds from, want them back and will stop at anything to do so.

The story has four different point of views, but the authors blend it together seamlessly. The book is set in Europe and I felt I learned a lot about the area and culture. I cannot wait to read the next book. This book will have your heart pounding the whole time.

Thank you to the author, publisher and JustRead Publicity Tours for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own.

A continuation of a book series that I loved the start of, “Heirs of Falcon Point”, and what makes this series so special is the characters and their relationships with one another.
Loved the action-packed plot of this one, it had a solid mystery, and was set in Vienna just a few week shy of the holidays. What more could you want?!?

This is a sequel to Heirs of Falcon Point, I loved how characters from Tracy Abramson's, Guardian series, were also included in this book. This book could also be read as a stand-alone.
I love how unique Heirs at Falcon Point and Diamonds and Danger are, with each author, writing different characters. A hostage situation and diamonds found at the scene, are only the first in a string of strange incidents. When bank robbers, steal the jewelry, of the Heirs at Falcon Point, it is up to Cole Bridger to find out who is behind the heist. A novel that is action packed, loved this book.

The danger and intrigue that permeate this story is as priceless as the stolen treasures it revolves around.

I can't imagine being a CIA operative--I think my anxiety would kill me off before an assassin could. Cole is able to reconnect with Isabelle and has to work hard to earn back her regard. His cousin, Lars, and his (hoping-to-be-more) friend, Marit, are in town as well and this group has to solve mysteries and dodge perilous circumstances at every turn.

I loved the pacing of this book, and the suspense and mystery enshrouding this group. The twists and turns were gasp-worthy and the blossoming romances were tender and sweet. The whole vibe of the book was perfect and I loved immersing myself right into the pages.

This is a thrilling tale that will keep a reader on the edge of their seat.

Content: mild moments of danger/peril; mild romance

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars!! I loved it and didn't want to put it down once I started reading. I loved Heirs of Falcon Point and I'd been looking forward to this book for months, so when life interferred with my reading (as in I had to cook dinner) I was not happy!

I loved the four main characters, and it was fun to see Lars and Cole working together in addition to navigating their blossoming relationships with Marit and Isabelle. Stolen jewelry, espionage, romance, and spies. . .what's not to love? There's also a lot of humor mixed in with the danger. I loved when Cole was teaching Lars how to dance! The authors also mixed in quite a few romantic scenes with some swoony kisses. *sigh* I don't know how they manage it but you can't tell this book was written by two authors. The story is seamless and flows so well. I'm already looking forward to the next book!!

One of the easiest 5 stars I have ever given! This romantic suspense was a page-turner from the first chapter and I loved every minute of it.

Lars (jewelry photographer) and Cole (CIA agent) have already helped to rescue their family jewels at Falcon Point but are now embroiled in a new mystery when some of the jewels are stolen as part of a bigger heist.

I loved so many things about this book!
-the setting in Vienna -I am going to need to visit that library some day
- Friendship between Lars and Cole - so much wit and humor!
-Double romance!! It's like two for the price of one!
- Isabelle's driving skills and fighting while wearing a gown
- The carriage rides
-Diamonds. Lots and lots of diamonds
-So many secrets and plot twists and suspenseful scenes!

Witty, suspenseful, and romantic, this book is the perfect package! I cannot say enough good things about it. If you are a fan of romantic suspense or have read any books by either Sian or Traci, then you absolutely need to give this one a try. You do not necessarily need to read Heirs of Falcon Point to understand this book, you will probably enjoy it more if you do.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but a positive review was not required.

"One kiss. One incredible, earth-shattering kiss and everything had changed."
This was such an enjoyable read! I loved getting to know the characters! Lars is quiet and charming. Cole is daring and focused on his missions, which can make him oblivious in personal relationships. Marit is beautiful, smart and observant. Isabelle is also beautiful, tough and her driving skills literally made me smile. I enjoyed watching their relationships grow. I also loved how Lars and Marit attempted to help Cole as he bumbled while attempting to renew his relationship with Isabelle. The mystery and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat! I thought the authors did such a great job of creating scenes that came to life on the page, and creating characters that were so well developed and relatable! I loved every minute of reading this one, and would highly recommend it!

I was completely hooked on these characters originally from reading Heirs of Falcon Point and was delighted to learn that Traci Hunter Abramson and Sian Bessey were going to continue their stories. The Danger with Diamonds was an adventurous ride that pulled me in from the very first chapter and I was unable to put the book down until the very end. Like Heirs of Falcon Point, the character transitions are so seamless, I would never know this was written by two different authors. I loved the multiple points of view, including Marit's and Isabelle's, whom we saw mentioned in Heirs, but never saw this fully.
The double romances checked the boxes for my romance reading self. I also liked the mix of civilians and CIA agents and the way that all played out. It was super intriguing how the diamonds could be used as payment. I enjoyed the connections to Heirs and Not Dead Yet. I also liked that I couldn't guess who the villain was and I didn't predict how things would shake out.
A great romantic suspense novel, I definitely enjoyed this book and cannot wait for more.
I received an advance reader copy of this novel. All thoughts and opinions are my own. 4.5 stars.

The Danger with Diamonds
Falcon Point Suspense #1
By Traci Hunter Abramson
and Sian Ann Bessey

The Danger with Diamonds is the first book in the Falcon Point Suspense series, but it is not the first book dealing with these characters. No, we were introduced to Lars Hendriks, Cole Bridger, Marit Jansen, and Isabelle Roberts in The Heirs of Falcon Point. And building on that story we are given a wonderful addition to that world with this new series debut.

Lars has been photographing the family heirlooms that were recovered in The Heirs of Falcon Point, and everyone is quite literally in the wrong place at the wrong time. Someone has decided to rob the bank where the Falcon Point jewels are being housed. But the target happens to be diamonds that Cole had to secure overnight in the same bank and the Falcon Points jewels are an added bonus.

Yes, the treasures that had been lost for years have been stolen, and the two cousins, along with Marit and Isabelle, will have to put all their skills and assets to work if they hope to clear their names, recover the jewels, the diamonds, and find out who is the mole within the CIA. And Lars and Marit have to be kept in the dark as to Cole and Isabelle's CIA affiliation. No problem!

The Danger with Diamonds is the perfect companion to The Heirs of Falcon Point, which is a prequel. There is plenty of suspense and a generous helping of clean romance blended well to craft a wonderful story. The talents of Traci Hunter Abramson and Sian Ann Bessey create a seamless story so that one doesn't get a jarring transition between their literary efforts. You can't tell where one ends, and the other begins. Now you don't have to read Heirs of Falcon Point to enjoy Danger with Diamonds but having the backstory is nice so that you'll know who Anna and Tess are when they are referred to. This book is perfect if you are looking for clean-reading Contemporary Romantic Suspense. I highly recommend this book, and it is one worthy of a reread!

I loved the suspense and danger in this one! It's definitely different from the regency romance books I normally read but it kept my interest and I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out how it was all going to turn out in the end!

I haven't read Heirs of Falcon Point yet and this book has bumped it up on my tbr!!

I received an eARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The Danger with Diamonds releases on the 11th of October. If you enjoy a good book with suspense, danger and romance, I recommend you check out this book!

Loved this book! So fun to be back with some of the Falcon Point characters! Suspense right at the beginning and it was fast paced and kept me reading. Loved the amount of romance that kept it light and fun. The setting of Vienna was great. Cole has to be my favorite character. Overall such a good book and I highly recommend! Can’t wait for more in the series!!

An excellent follow up to the Heirs of Falcon Point. I really enjoyed this one-the mystery was great and Lars and Marrit and Cole and Isabella are fantastic characters. I need more of this series asap!

I really enjoyed having the opportunity to catch up with familiar characters from The Heirs of Falcon Point. Cole, Isabelle, Lars and Marit made a great foursome when it came to solving a bank robbery that included the theft of the Falcon Point Jewels. They managed to get themselves in and out of trouble way more than once, and my only disappointment was with the end of the book which seemed very abrupt.

Good book, and great story. But...I am not a fan of the the narrator. She made it hard to get through.
