The O'Sullivan Sisters #2

Gucci Girls Don't Date Cowboys

Rate this book
This city girl knows nothing about kids. She knows even less about cowboys. But when a single dad and royal pain needs help at home, this fashion diva is the only woman for the job.

It wasn't like Lizzy wanted to wind up on the O'Sullivan ranch, heartbroken and betrayed. She certainly never planned on staying as long as she did, and her fashion job back in Chicago didn’t either. Which is why she's no longer just a jilted bride, but an unemployed one too. But what does it matter? Everyone in the small town of Aspire already thinks she's pathetic, and the hottie cowboy with the teasing taunts and sexy smirk makes it abundantly clear that her presence on the ranch is just a nuisance. Unless, of course, he's kissing her senseless...

Kit didn’t mean to kiss the prissy Gucci girl, but impulse took over and now he can’t stop thinking about her. But this attraction is the last thing he needs. Being a single dad to twin five-year-olds is no picnic, but his already hectic life gets a million times more chaotic when his built-in support system sets sail on a cruise. Oh yeah, he also needs to find a new home for his family, all while working full-time and trying not to notice his boss's gorgeous new houseguest. But when things get desperate and the only solution comes in the form of this leggy blonde, he has no choice but to accept her help—even though he knows he's diving headfirst into danger. Experience has taught him that women like Lizzy don't stay in Aspire. Definitely not for cowboys like him. And this time it's not just his heart on the line...

This was a fantastic sequel. I loved the relationship between the two characters and how they both turn into better versions of themselves together. I enjoyed reading the way the heroine interacts with the kids and seeing characters that I’d read about before. I look forwards to the next book in this series!

Gucci Girls Don't Date Cowboys is the second book in the O'Sullivan Sisters series. The first book followed Emma's point of view and her love interest Nash, while this second book is about her sister Lizzy and Nash's best friend Kit. I really enjoyed the first book and was excited to be back, especially after the glimpse we got of Lizzy at the end of book 1 and I happily started book 2.

Lizzy discovered her fiancé cheating on her and escaped to the O'Sullivan ranch where her sister Emma now lives. She loves the big city and fashion and hates the small blink-and-you-miss-it town of Aspire, but as her sister Emma is here and it's far away from her previous life this is where she ends up. While love interest Kit is totally at home here in Aspire, he is a cowboys who works at the ranch and a single dad to two twins. He struggles taking care of them and handling everything them when his parents go away for a vacations. The two couldn't be more different and yet there is a spark between them from the first moment they meet.

I have to admit I struggled a bit with this book at first. Lizzy isn't the most likeable character at first, she comes across as self absorbed and is used to others taking care of her. She isn't very likeable and I didn't like how she could be a bit rude and judgmental about this town. She's a complete mess when she first arrives in Aspire. I did like Kit from the start and I was hoping I would like Lizzy more as the book progressed, which luckily turned out to be the case. Lizzy's life has fallen apart and now she has to think of what she really wants from life, with words of wisdom from her sister and Kit she slowly figures out who she wants to be and what really is important to her.

I really liked seeing Lizzy change in this book. Her growth is really great to see and I think all the more impressive with the way she starts out. She stays the same in some areas, like her love for fashion and looking pretty, but she changes a lot in other areas like how she treats other people and also what she wants from life and her whole outlook. Kit has his own struggles with handling his twins without his support network and finding a new house for his family. He doesn't want to fall for Lizzy or get the hopes of his twins up. They both have some growing up to do and I liked seeing their journeys. I would've loved to see a few more of Lizzy's inner thoughts, especially toward the end when her attitude begins to shift.

I liked the romance between Kit and Lizzy, it starts out with some banter and an impulsive kiss and then slows down and slowly grows into more. I liked reading about how Lizzy took care of the twins, there are some struggles along the way too, which were fun to read about. The twins were fun to read about and I liked seeing them interact with Kit and Lizzy. I liked seeing how they grew into a family. There is a bit of tension as Lizzy intends to go back to the city and doesn't like Aspire, but I am glad there wasn't too much drama and I like the way it got resolved.

I was happy to see more of Emma and Nash as well in this book. I always like it when the previous couples continue to play a part in future books. And that was definitely the case here. I liked seeing more of them and also seeing more of how Emma and Lizzy interact. There also is the set-up for the next sister and I am excited for her story!

To summarize: Gucci Girls Don't Date Cowboys is a great second book in this series. I was happy to return back to the small town of Aspire and follow Lizzy and Kit as they find love. I liked Kit and how he took care of his two twins. Lizzy however I didn't like from the start as she seemed self absorbed and used to others taking care of her. She also wasn't very nice to others and even rude at times, but that made her character development all the more impressive as she grows into a likable women who takes care of others and helps them out and finds out what she really wants from life. Her romance with Kit was great to see. I liked their banter and seeing them interact and also how Lizzy interacted with his twins and how they slowly grew into a family. This is a heartwarming sweet romance story with a small town setting and I enjoyed reading it. The set up for the next book makes me curious and excited for the next one!

Second book in the O’Sullivan sister series!
This story revolves around Lizzy and finding herself in Aspire. Things don’t go as planned for Lizzy in Chicago so she runs away to where Emma is which is Aspire. She ends up staying much longer than planned so she also loses her job. She’s feeling very useless and not sure what to do with herself on the ranch or the town.
She ends up meeting Kit on her first day there but doesn’t really leave the house for about a month. When she meets him a second time things get interesting. She goes on a little tirade and to shut her up Kit kisses her out of the blue. She didn’t respond well to it but also can’t get it out of her mind. She can’t get Kit out of her mind.
I loved the character development throughout this story for both of the characters. Lizzy’s sister makes her realize that she may have mourned her wedding more than losing her fiancée. Kits parents make him realize that it’s time to find a place of his own for him and the kids.
This story was laugh out loud funny, sad at some moments, and super sweet and happy the next. I love how Lizzy was with the kids and how much they adored each other. I was also really glad that things could get solved without Lizzy having to go back to Chicago to figure everything out and cause more drama and heartache.
I also thought the ending was great and unique but this family was definitely unique from the start. I’m excited for the next sister installment.

In this second book of the series, Lizzy has taken cover at the O'Sullivan ranch with her life's dreams in tatters. When she receives the telephone call that also ends her career, Lizzy knows that it is time to come out of her funk. Faced with the fact that she has always depended on other people to take care of her, she realizes that it is time to start taking control of her life once more. When asked to help Kit out whilst his babysitter is away, Lizzy has a full-on panic attack, but the five-year-old twins are far more entertaining than she thought. It doesn't take too much to win them over and before she knows it, Lizzy is fully involved in their lives. Kit has had his fingers burnt and his heart broken when his ex-wife walked out, but as his children begin to develop an attachment to Lizzy, he realizes that there is more at stake than just his heart. This heartwarming novel is witty and entertaining, and I love the small-town feel of the book, the attraction between the main characters, and the quirky humor that the twins bring to the plot. I received a copy of this entertaining romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

City girl vs small town cowboy

This was the perfect story and happily ever after for Emma’s sister. I was so sad for Lizzy hearing at the end of the first story about how she wasn’t going to be getting married.

Lizzy moved in with Emma after her broken engagement. She grieved the loss of her dream wedding and the life she built in Chicago.

Kit is the father of two adorable twins, Chloe and Corbin. He lives with his parents that decide to go on a cruise, hoping to help him move forward in his life. Struggling to be a single father with a full time job at the ranch, things are tough.

This story brought two people that normally wouldn’t have anything in common together. It was absolutely beautiful and touching. The author truly made a wonderful way to bring them together. I love the quote she said about how God brings people into your life to fill the space of loss.

I love how this series reminds me of the Barrett boys books in terms of the sisters coming to live at the ranch their father created. It feels meant to be and the characters in this story all deserve happiness!!

Both Kit and Lizzy have come to hard places in their lives. Kit married young and had twins. His wife told him she didn't like Montana and then blindsided him by leaving when the babies were a year old. Now his parents that he lives with and depends on for childcare have left him to go on an extended cruise of Europe. Lizzie was engaged to a handsome, rich man and had her beautiful wedding all planned when she found out he was cheating on her. She took off from Nordstrom Chicago to visit her sister in Montana and has been wallowing in bed for four weeks when her boss calls and fires her.

I not only laughed and cried with this couple and their families as they work through their many problems and trust issues, becoming 'friends,' but I love the improvement in the characters as they grow in virtues of bravery and self-giving. This is one of the hallmarks of Quinn's writing that make her books so good to read!

Lizzy had no intention of having anything to do with the ranch her estranged father had left to her and her sisters. Then she found out her fiance was cheating on her and she went to the one person who had always cared and looked out for her, the one O'Sullivan sister she knows. Kit is very aware that he shouldn't have kissed his boss's beautiful blond houseguest, but at the time he just wanted her to stop talking. When he finds out that his usual babysitter is out of town, the only person who is available is Lizzy, a woman who has made it clear that she doesn't want children.
I loved these characters, I think they're well written and realistic. This is a sweet happily ever after romance with just a tiny bit of steam. I think this is a fantastic book, and a must read.

This sweet Cowboy romance series set in the small town of Aspire has won my heart. Both Kit and Lizzie are both at a crossroads in their lives for completely different reasons. Kit is a single dad to five year old twins, living back at home with his parents who are helping to raise them. Lizzie was engaged to be married, but called off the wedding after she found out her partner had cheated on her. So she retreats to the town of Aspire where her sister has also found love with a cowboy. This was a beautiful slow burn romance between a city girl and a cowboy. Lizzie comes full circle in terms of her self-awareness, you could really see her grow into herself once she got to know Kit's beautiful munchkins. This single dad cowboy was all heart! I loved it.

This is sister #2 in this series. Lizzy is a city girl in heels and does not belong on a farm. After her wedding was cancelled she spent the time with her sister and cried for weeks. I really enjoyed watching her growth, she found a purpose, got to know other people and even found children weren't so bad after all. The male lead in this story is Kit, a flirty cowboy and single dad to twins. He also had his own growth as he was strongly encouraged to move out on his own and raise his children. He didn't expect to also fall in love.
This story was heart warming and I love a happy ending. Can't wait for the next book with sister #3.

I really enjoyed this story! I loved Lizzy and Kit! They were great characters and we really get to see Lizzy develop as she deals with the aftermath of what happened to her life. She has to figure out what she wants out of life and how to be a better version of herself. I loved watching these two interact with each other throughout the book and watching them build a friendship and support system and all of their flirting before they every really took it any further. I loved the antics of the twins and Lizzy's interactions with them. She was soo good, even though she thought she wouldn't be. I loved watching her grow and watching Kit see the difference in her. This was a great and extremely adorable read that held my attention from beginning to end. I truly enjoyed it and can't wait to read the next one.

Solid Single Dad Meets City Girl Romance. This is the second book in the new O'Sullivan Sisters Series, and as such contains at least minor spoilers from the book before (that are obvious due to it being a romance book, nothing really more than that). And yet, while it does contain the overall series mythos to a certain degree... it doesn't really do much to advance it other than a surprising moment at the end to rather blatantly set up the next book. Ultimately this one is mostly concerned with telling a standalone (though set in a common world) romance... and that absolutely works here. It has enough length so that growth doesn't appear sudden, even as it mentions months passing by in single sentences to show time progressing that way as well. In the end, a satisfying romance that does just enough to continue the series. Very much recommended.

Darling story about a girl who comes to stay with her sister on a ranch after her wedding gets canceled.
The groom cheated but actually did her a favor showing his true colors before they were married.
She is a bit lost and shallow but starts to learn about the importance of family while helping out with one of the cowboys twins who need some supervision.
She falls in love with the kids and stats to see that taking care of the kids is enjoyable and rewarding for her.
And their father is a great guy also.
Heartwarming story about family.

Gucci Girls Don’t Date Cowboys

Lizzie is a fashion designer and city girl who was cheated on by her fiancé. After breaking things off with him she goes to her newly inherited ranch to be with her sister. Kit is a Cowboy with two young children who had been left by his ex wife. Can they put their pasts behind them to see the future they could have together?

Lizzy’s stay in Aspire, Montana is supposed to help her heal her heart after her ex-fiancé cheating’ on her. Kit’s life hasn’t been easy since her wife abandoned him and their twins kids four years ago. Can they work together even if Lizzy knows nothing about kids, hates the little cowboy town and is only interested in fashion? Or so she thinks until her interactions with Kit and his kids shows her a new side of life. A sweet story about trust, second chances and finding happiness again.

I didn't realize this was such a clean wholesome romance before I began reading. It was a cute story overall, but I prefer smut in my books.

It also had religion sprinkled throughout but not in a preachy or annoying way. More like, we pray before dinner, go to church every Sunday, and thank god for every good thing that happens in our lives. Also, possibly no sex before marriage? But that part wasn't explicitly stated so I'm not sure. That's what it seemed like to me based on context clues.

Not bad, but probably won't read any more books by this author.

This is book 2 in the o Sullivan sisters series. I liked this one more than book 1 as first was a little slow. I liked Lizzy. Some may not like her drama at the beginning of the book but it made the story interesting and engaging .
Lizzy flees to her sister Emma in aspire after she finds her finance was cheating on her and takes some needed reprieve from the meds that is her life.
Once Lizzy is down grieving her previous life you start to see the real her. The quirky younger sister of Emma with good fashion sense and eye . Along with a big heart and love to pass around.

Kit is best friends to the Forman of the ranch the sisters inherited. Lizzy sister is dating him(book 1). Kit teases Lizzy to get a rise out of her but he has also been heart broken . His ex wife up and left him and the twins out of the blue. He has not dated since she left.

Lizzy helps kit out when he’s on a bind and they grow closer.
I loved the twins personalities and how they bring out the real Lizzy. Lizzy originally said she didn’t want kids but I think it’s because she wasn’t in a relationship where it was possible. Her ex didn’t want them so she adjusted to his thinking to be with him.

You see her warm up to the kids and her true character come out. She finds fun things to do with the kids and cute ways to get them to eat food they do t like because it’s good for them.

I was rooting for her and kit the whole book and loved seeing them both slowly open their hearts to each other and realize they loved the other person.

Loved the ending and it was worth the wait

Sweet romance only a few kisses

Kit and Lizzy made my heart so happy

This story was sweet, funny, and heart warming - I smiled my way through the whole book. Lizzy caught her fiancée cheating one month before her fairytale wedding. Now she’s in the last place she thought she’d ever be, in a middle of nowhere tiny town in the house on the ranch she inherited with her six sisters. Kit is the single father cowboy of 5 year old twins who works on the ranch. With his parents off on an 8 week cruise, he is planning to move out of their house and needs help with his children. While there is explosive chemistry, Kit and Lizzy are the poster children for opposites attract. Despite their big differences at the start of the story, their relationship develops organically as Lizzy begins changing and taking care of Kit’s children. All the interactions between Lizzy, Kit, Chloe, and Corbin were joyful to read. On their way to their HEA, Kit and Lizzy have to both learn a lot about love, trust, family, and themselves. This book was full of all the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, sighing, and eye rolling - but experiencing Lizzy’s growth, her insights, and her revelations about herself gave me the biggest feels. I love that she discovers the “difference between looking happy and being happy.” This story is a masterpiece of words. While this is a standalone, there is an overarching storyline of the ranch and the inheritance, so I would recommend reading the books in order. I am excited about the rest of the series and reading the love stories of the other O’Sullivan sisters.

Gucci Girls Don't Date Cowboys by Sophia Quinn is a nice and short read!

This book was a super quick read for me so it was a nice change of pace. The characters were all likable and interesting—especially our main characters Kit and Lizzy. Lizzy is your typical city girl and fashionista who ends up on the ranch with her sister after canceling her wedding. Where Kit is a cowboy and a single dad who has his own issues going on.

The plot moved quickly but I didn't feel like we missed anything. It hit all the right plot points and some were even more than I expected. There was some angst with the fact that for most of the book, we weren't sure if Lizzy was going to stay. I loved that the author didn't have them move in with each other right away. I think it was important for that to happen with Kit having his history of moving too fast and Lizzy needing to take the time to be on her own after being with her sister the whole time after the wedding was canceled.

The book overall is one I recommend! The only thing that does get me with this book is the title. I can't help but giggle and cringe at it 🤭 But besides that, this book is good if you are looking for something quick and sweet.

Book 2 - Another sweet romance. While the first book I liked the main female character, Emma, much better than Lizzy, this story was still decent. Lizzy was basically a bit of a self absorbed city girl that gets hurt by her fiancé and flees to where her sister, Emma, has just moved. Kit, the main male character has 2 children and doesn't trust relationships since his wife left him when his twin babies were just 1 year old. There's a happily ever after, of course, but as with all mediocre story tellers there's a lack of communication which leads to misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Just like the previous book in the series, there were pages of inner monologue during a conversations where very little was expressed between the main characters and I always find that annoying.

If I could give one criticism to the author, not every male character has the same run away thoughts and not every female character has the same insecurities. Try something new.

But, of course I'll be reading the rest of the series because I'm not a quitter. Here's to hoping there's a surprise in one of them!

One day Lizzy's life was perfect. The perfect job. The perfect man. The perfect wedding. The next, she was heartbroken on a ranch in the middle of nowhere surrounded by cowboys and not much else. Definitely no Starbucks or Nordstroms. In Chicago, she had everything she wanted. In Aspire, she's adorable Emma's pathetic sister. So, why hasn't she gone back to Chicago? And why can't she stop thinking about a sexy cowboy and his two adorable children?

This could have been called the Evolution of Lizzy. Her character growth was spectacular. Her journey from superficial to genuine was rewarding. Kit's journey was a little different. He had already accepted responsibility; he was just stuck and needed a push out of the nest. The two together were imperfectly perfect. As much as I loved Lizzy and Kit, however, the twins made the story for me. Kit and Lizzy stepping up, growing up for Chloe and Corbin made this story special.

After her engagement ends, Lizzy O'Sullivan goes to Aspire to be near her sister and spends most of her time locked in her room. She's a typical city girl and believes her stay at the O'Sullivan Ranch is just temporary.
Kit is one of the cowboys who works on the ranch, as well as being the father of adorable twins, Chloe and Corbin. He has lived with his parents since he was abandoned by his children’s mother, but now he will need to find a new place to live and help with the children.
What none of them expected was that Lizzy would be the person to both help him with the kids and find them a new home. As they spend more time together, feelings begin to surface, but both are afraid of getting hurt again.
I loved the story and the characters. I highly recommend the reading.

After reading book 1 I was hooked. Each book I read I'm just further consumed into this small town romance book series. This is Kit and Lizzy's story. Lizzy is a big city girl all the way and when her fiancé leaves her hanging she comes to stay with her sister Emma and Emma's boyfriend Nash on the O' Sullivan ranch. On the first day she meets Kit who she feels is a smug cowboy despite being a single father of two wonderfully rambunctious twins Chloe and Corbin. I couldn't put this book down and you won't be able to either. I'm off to order the next book in the series!

Heartwarming

I found a blurb about this book on Instagram. I took a chance and it was just what I needed. The recipe for heart break is indecision. The cure is love. To Kit, Lizzy looked like his downfall with a hint of salvation but he was to afraid to make the same mistake twice. To Lizzy, Kit looked like a rugged wisdom with a hint of temptation. Kit finds the courage to make his one and only request, stay.

It's not often I enjoy books without super smexy spice, but I fell in love with twins and kit. Not to mention the character growth on lizzy I'm glad she grew into herself. She still kept her love of fashion but learned so much about how capable she is of other things like taking care of kids, being a supportive friend and family member instead of always being the one that needs support, etc. This was a really cute read and pretty easy if you just need something fluffy.

This was a good book and worth the read. Though I did grit my teeth every time I read “rueful.” 2.5 books in and if I never read that word again in my life, it will be too soon -it just seems like it’s used so much. I don’t get why Emma and Lizzy are still trying to pin down their other sisters if neither are trying to sell the ranch anymore though. It seems like the wishes of the other five don’t really matter enough to force a meeting if those two have no interest in selling.
