Rate this book
Every thirty-three years, the raven god Iziran descends into the mortal realm of Thraes to commune with the people of the Visiel mountains. But this time is different. Demons ambush him and an old friend from an era long ago appears. With the help of a mortal, elven woman and the magi of the local village of Nilthil, Iziran schemes a way to save his people and return home before the last midnight, when the portal to his home realm closes and he's trapped within the mortal realm. In the end, the demonic leader gives Iziran two choices: join forces with the demonic leader or die a mortal's death.

Yes!
This is a story I have been waiting for. I was so excited to see that the author was going to write part of Iziran's story. He was a favorite character from her original series, and I am so glad he got some spot lot.

I love Farrah. The point from when she was just a maiden in a village to the turning point where she become this salty/scorned woman is great.
Watching Iziran develop foreign feelings.. ah.
I love it.

Having read GOA before hand, I had a good idea of how this would play out.. for the most part anyways.
I was not disappointed in the least.
I can't wait to see what part these two will play in the upcoming trilogy.

This is a rather nice novella about a God and an elf: I really liked some of the prose used, the author has rather a poetic turn of phrase at times. The God, Iziran, and the Elf, Farrah, were nicely portrayed and I liked the blossoming love between them.
It is a short novella but it felt a little rushed at times. The action was good, but it was difficult to work out why things were happening. I would have liked a little more backstory to it, perhaps.

I am super excited for this new series. I don't know how Farrah and Iziran are going to deal with what's to come, but I for one am excited to see!! This is a great start to what I hope is a series I won't be able to stop raving about.

I recommend you give this a read and be entertained for about 90 minutes. Demons, a little flirting, and a god that just wants to do right by his people.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thank you BookSprout and Savanah James for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

WHAT I LIKED:
This book was not at all what I expected! It is a small book opening you up to the larger story and other books (which I can't wait to read!). I enjoy the way that the meekly human is looking after the god and her kindness causes him to feel some what protective of her.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
I did find the people worshipping the god to be a little too much.. and I am not talking about the priests that live in the temple, I am meaning the townspeople.

OVERALL / RECOMMENDATIONS:
This book is good, and I can't wait to read the rest of them! I recommend this book to all people who enjoy fantasy stories involving gods!
