Welcome to my little space out on the web. I'm Kenny Soward, and I'm an author, musician, and once IT guy. I write books in many sub-genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy, including post-apocalyptic, military science fiction, epic fantasy, and horror. I'm influenced by authors such as Stephen King, George R. R. Martin, Anne Rice, J.K. Rowling, Mark Lawrence, Dan Simmons, Robin Hobb, Robert McCammon, Larry Correia, and Mike Kraus.

I love all kinds of movies and shows from Battle Star Galactica (reboot) to the Walking Dead. There's nothing I won't try.

I grew up in Kentucky in a small suburb just south of Cincinnati, Ohio, listening to hard rock and playing outdoors. In those quiet 1970's streets, I jumped bikes, played Nerf football, and came away with many scars.

My grandfather and many of my uncles and cousins served in the United States Military, and my father was a Kentucky State Trooper. Their efforts taught me the meaning of sacrifice and gratitude. I've always had an avid curiosity about the world around me, and I hope my enthusiasm for life carries over into my stories, even the dark ones.

Eruption - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

Kenny Soward and Mike Kraus' epic survival against the odds Fracture series reaches its all-too-shockingly-possible conclusion in Book 5, Eruption, that you simply must not miss!

Geologist Ben Willard seems to be the only one who may know how to stop the US/world-wide lethal volcanic activity. But all Ben, Angel and their fellow survivors want is to get home...no matter what it takes, or who has other agendas.
Far away, Pam Willard and their younger kids face dangers of their own, both from murderous looters - and those hunting Ben. Can they pull through?
If the sun's totally obscured long-term, will recovery from the Apocalypse even be possible?
Can Mankind survive?

Grab your copy today and read all about it - you never know when it might happen for real!

I was not too happy with the last book because it appeared to have the death of a character that I really liked (and appears my worries were premature). This book was very good. The action continues with Ben on his journey, the Willards and friends in Napa and Pam and her friends at the lake. I like Whip becoming more of a prominent character as I liked his appearance in earlier books. I also like Varney. I'm very curious about the identity of the Lassen scientist who went to check on Joe Willard. I think I know who it is, but will have to wait and see. This ended with a big cliff-hanger, so look forward to book 6.

Excellent continuing book in this series.

More anguish and tragedy as eruptions from volcanic ash and poison gases are following the nuclear fallout and fires that are still raging. Mass exodus from states and cities within are happening. But Ben is attempting to make it to his parents where his daughter is.

head jumping

No real character development. Very little dialog, most of which was obvious. Lots of sort-of flashbacks.
Series is going downhill.

Disappointed.

Exciting read, fast moving, teeth gritting and grinding. Explosive, still separated by miles, the family fight to keep themselves safe and well.

Plot Lines as Thick as Volcanic Flakes

What an excellent continued story. I love the intense writing. Each added plot lends a new element to the overall story.
