A quick, light, simple way of approaching productivity from the co-author of one of my favourite books ever, and the one that’s changed my life the most, GTD for teens.

It’s so beautifully and enjoyably written. In truly bite-size chunks, it presents the knowledge you already know through reading GTD but in a deeper, more profound way. You can really tell that Mike gets this. Lives this. Breathes this.

What I found quite profound was his advice to ask the deeper questions. Once you’ve answered the question of whether something is actionable (yes or no), he encourages you to ask, ‘why am I saying yes?’ ‘Why am I saying no?’ ‘Why am I saying yes when I want to say no?’ And boy do I do that last one very, very often, yet I’ve never stopped to ask myself that question.

If you’re interested in productivity at all, I’d deeply recommend this book. I finished it in a single sitting, a single morning - no other book have I ever finished so quickly.

This is helpful book, and a relatively quick read. There are many (too many for my taste) illustrations. Some are helpful and I appreciated those, others seem extraneous. But, given how graphic novels are becoming a thing now, perhaps this will appeal to a new generation.

Mike Williams has been associated with David Allen and Getting Things Done (GTD) and he clearly knows what he's talking about here. This book essentially takes some of what's in GTD and distills it into short chapters (only a few pages each). He makes extensive use bullets and, as I mentioned, some of the illustrations are helpful.

I highly recommend the book and think it's one that may well find its way on my "reread on a regular basis" list because I doubt I will get it all right the first time.

I don’t consider myself much of a professional development or self-help reader, opting instead to dive into fictional worlds when I clock out of work and dive into a good book.

That said, I love THIS professional development book.

It’s fun. It’s clear. It’s creative. It’s concise. Above all, it’s effective at communicating simple tools that help people regain their time through streamlined organization and a bit of brain wrangling.

Hooray for regaining some of those precious 24 hours in the day!

Quick and easy read. Graphics are fun. Nothing new or innovative in the content. Tips on getting organized and and daily structure.
Like anything, it’s about sticking to a system that works for you.
