These books in Richards' series are really good language-learning aids. Short conversations on developing topics interspersed by thematic wrap-ups and lexical points? Yes, wonderful. And the actual conversations are not so dry, though undoubtedly they remain in the blissful and unreal space of too-jolly, too-happy language instructor imagination-land. My one complaint is that the lexical points can be a touch misleading or simplified at points. Otherwise, a great companion to a language learner and a good way to build confidence for an intermediate stage.

Very helpful and atypical approach to language learning! Reading for gist and overall comprehension rather than meticulous linguistic analysis was more effective and enjoyable than I anticipated. I’ve applied this approach to my other French language novels, and I feel my vocabulary and syntax recognition has improved. I’ll look for other books in this series as I pursue French language studies.

Excellent intermediate French text which includes audio from their site. Great subject matter and timely, useful vocabulary. These are pure gold for the long intermediate phase to fluency.

J'ai aimé lire ce livre. On se sent réussir en apprenant cette langue avec ce gere d'ouvres. Et les informations courants.

For me, the chapters are the perfect length (short) for my A2ish level. Each chapter is setup as a conversation between 3-4 people about various climate change topics. It was a bit cheesy, but really easy to read at an A2 level and reasonably interesting 🙂

I also bought the WWII book from the same series and I hope they come out with more!
