About the author

Lady Monika Wiśniewska was born in Grudziadz, Poland in 1979. She studied to be an English Teacher and received a Master's Degree in EU Economic Relations. In December 2004, shortly after Poland entered European Union, she travelled to England in search of a better life. She started working at the bottom of the career ladder but gradually progressed to senior-level positions in global companies. In 2018, she wrote her memoir 'Polish Girl; In Pursuit of the English Dream', where she shared her experiences as a Polish immigrant in England and her reflections on different areas of life, mainly love life, from her 13-year adventure. Her memoir is a spiritual journey through various types of relationships to eventually find unconditional self-love in hope that the readers embark on their own journey to self-discovery.

Following the success of her impressive début in the world of writing, the author has moved to a totally different genre for her second literary outing, following the autobiographical “Polish Girl – In Pursuit of the English Dream”.

Inspired by nature and the forests of her native Poland and present surroundings in England, she introduces us to “Deer Wonderland Kingdom”, in a fantasy novel centred around the character of Rupert, a young and handsome prince and heir to the throne. If you think of Grimms' fairy tales and mediaeval adventures, you will already be on the right track.

Following the accidental slaughter of a prize deer in the forest, Rupert is sentenced by Forest Mother to be turned into a giant oak tree. As he comes to terms with his apparent fate and seeks to reverse the spell he has been put under, he meets a variety of animal characters; Leticia the squirrel, Olek the mandarin duck, Louisa the badger, Runo the wolf and a host of other animal characters and families, each having their own unique style and sense of humour. Rupert also meets the beautiful and stunning Amara, and their love story is a central theme as the story develops.

The book is a thoroughly compelling read, with unexpected twists and turns in story lines and character building. A whole range of emotions is explored through the characters and their actions. I thoroughly recommend this enthralling roller coaster ride, which mirrors the human condition and experience in an unmistakable fashion. I’m also sure, with the right treatment, it would make an entertaining movie.

I really hope the author considers a sequel, as the potential for development is limitless.

Whether you like or dislike Romance, Fantasy or make-believe, read this book and change your perceptions. I had previously read ‘Polish Girl In Pursuit of the English Dream' and I was astounded by the ‘straight from the heart’ feelings and emotions that went into it. Despite my initial scepticism about whether a fictional book would be as good, I went ahead and bought this book. I read a chapter and initially I thought this isn’t for me - a romantic fantasy? How wrong I was. I couldn’t put the book down from start to finish. I’m a fast reader and I couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough to ‘see what happens next’. Throughout the book there are parallels to real life events, reflections on emotions, and tear-jerking moments that will have you on the edge of your seat - all wrapped up in words that most of us could only dream about being able to write.
I’d strongly recommend this book. Put aside your prejudices and escape to a world of terrifying battles, humour, fantasy, romance, sadness and happiness, not to mention a little eroticism. You will never look at an oak tree in the same way again! I can’t wait for Part 2.
Next time I visit Windsor Great Park I will certainly look out for the oak that inspired the author.

This is a great, original and interesting work with its roots (no pun intended) in European fable and a heady mix of romance, fantasy and humour. It is the proverbial ‘page turner’ and the writer draws you into her magical world where the meaning of true love is re defined and delivers a stronger still message on loyalty, honour and love. It is a great work and deserves wide appeal. 5 stars ⭐️

Beautiful book I must say, I had to be open minded to read it because initially I wasn't sure I would like it but omg what a stunning, spiritual, creative, emotional and full of fun and wisdom story. I bow in front of the author.I read her masterpiece Polish Girl but this is something else... this is unlike anything I have ever read. The book to love, enjoy and learn from. I am looking forward to my visit in Windsor now and finding tree love with the oak that inspired the author. Well done Monika, you are amazing! I want more!!!

Fantastic story, really enjoyable, surprising and thought-provoking, unlike any other, reminds me of classic fairytales for adults that have been unfortunately forgotten with strong morals for the readers which we all need nowadays more than ever, what is good, what is evil, what is true love and what is karma... all I can say- read it if you want to be transported to a magical world and feel what it's like to be...a tree. Great job by the writer to describe it and the ending is...very surprising. I love Prince Rupert and I will from now on look at trees, especially oaks in a different way...also a very spiritual story.

Jestem fanką twórczości pani Moniki po przeczytaniu jej prawdziwej historii Polska Dziewczyna... bardzo chciałam przeczytać jej nową książkę i cieszę się, że mi się to wreszcie udało. Jest to tym razem fantazji, bajka dla młodzieży, dorosłych, która muszę przyznać zaskoczyła mnie. Jest napisana z perspektywy mężczyzny- Księcia Ruperta, który został zamieniony w starego dęba i musi znaleźć sposób, aby się z niego uwolnić. Nie jest to jednak łatwe, a przygody jakie go napotykają są fascynujące, zwłaszcza, że zakochuje się on w pięknej Amarze mieszkającej w lesie. Nigdy tak się nie ubawiłam widząc, jak on chce jej zaimponować, aby się w nim zakochała- bo przecież jak? Skoro on jest...nieporadnym drzewem a ona człowiekiem... Wszyscy bohaterzy tej przygody są bardzo interesujący, a zwłaszcza Matka Lasu i książę Henri, który staje w konkurencji do serca Amary. Dawno nie czytałam książki tak szybko, aby przekonać się jak się skończy i nie zdradzę jak to będzie, ale musze powiedzieć, że mnie zakończenie bardzo zaskoczyło... jest to tak jak poprzednia książka pani Moniki bardzo uduchowiona, pełna przemyśleń o życiu i miłości książka, która odpowie co to jest prawdziwa miłość. Mam nadzieję, że autorka napisze trzecią książkę, gdyż uwielbiam jej historie. Polecam z całego serca

I love Prince Rupert! What a wonderful story with so many funny and tragic moments just like in life... I wasn't expecting to much of it but the way Ms Wisniewska writes reminds me of Cohelo because of so many reflections on life, love, human or tree... existence. It's a remarkable simple but at the same time complex story. I loved her first book Polish Girl and this one is just as good. I highly recommend it

“Finding Tree Love” is quite a departure from the author’s first book. This truly is a new Fairy tale; I could imagine it becoming an animated film with the animals and trees taking important roles in the story as much as the humans! A story of loss and love and finding life’s importance over privilege. Naturally Good vs Evil. And with a twist in the ending! A most enjoyable escapist adventure.

This is an enchanting adult fairy tale inspired by the beautiful countryside of Windsor Great Park. Prince Rupert was a victim of a spell which turned him into an Oak tree after a tragic accident. The story has a supporting cast of a variety of different animals. Rupert also falls in love with the beautiful Amara. He must adapt to being part of the forest. Can he free himself from the spell? Will he find true love with Amara?. This is a romantic fun book with a little eroticism. Also an important moral message. Also available in Polish.
