Ugh...this is bad, really bad. DNF (Did not finish), because I COULDN'T FINISH. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I couldn't even get past chapter 2. If I happened to finish it, I'm sure my rating would be 1 or 2 stars.

The writing is just really terrible and lacks finesse. Not to mention the many errors and misspellings and grammar problems. It's not clear which character is actually talking; author will write one passage about this character talking to this other one, then the next sentence is actually said by the other one and not the first character... See how confusing that can get?!

As for the characters, up to chapter 2, they sure talk and act more like full-blown Americans instead of Russians or even Russian-Americans. 🙄 And they tend to overreact and act+say things stupidly, sorry. The first two chapters feel like the book was written by a teenager. There isn't any substance.

This is the blurb I found, word for word:

Nadia found herself yet again sinking deeper and deeper into the darkness. With her father, Cranos, dying and being underage herself she had to move from Russia to America to live with her Biological Mom who abandoned her with Cranos when she was little. Nadia quickly catches feelings for her step dads while in America, traveling back to Russia with them for her dads funeral only made things worse, made her need them even more.

According to it and the first chapter, Nadia has to leave Russia for America to live with her birth mother and two stepdads, when her dad (Cranos) is killed in a drive-by shooting. She doesn't get along with her mother (Martha) and stepdad Ivan, but is neutral with stepdad Artem. And things are supposed to heat up between Nadia and her stepdads, but since that "interesting" premise isn't alluring enough for me to torture myself by reading past chapter 2, I guess I'll never know or care enough to find out. 😪 I am a little curious and skeptical as to how Martha is able to land two stepdads for Nadia. 🙄 But again, not worth the self-torture just to find out.

Storyline sounds decent, until chapter 1 kills your hopes and dreams. Stay away... 👻
