20-year-old college student, Parker Kelleher, lives in New York with her best friend, Lex, and is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Ryan. But when she runs into Hudson, a senior student at the first rager of the year, she doesn't foresee the trouble ahead.
The Wolf In Sheep's Clothing.
Hudson Saylor-Tyne, a charismatic Law Student isn't like his frat brothers at Kensington. Hailing from one of Manhattan's most affluent families, he has everything at the tip of his tongue. But Hudson has a dark secret. A secret pleasure that gives him a rush. He's always waiting and watching. When he meets Parker, he knows she's the perfect victim.
Parker is thrown into a dark world of drugs and obsession and little does she know that her every move is being followed. Hudson loves a challenge, but he needs to be careful because his dirty trails are leading to his past. A past that no one can ever find out about.
This book was like a documentation of my entire relationship with my ex. I am fucking over it.
Plus I hate Parker (like a hated my previous fucking self 😏). Narcissistic and toxic people like Hudson choose targets like Parker especially because they don't like saying No or taking a firm stand for themselves. They are people pleasers and crave affection.....I am not at all saying that that's a bad thing....just that these characteristics are target qualities for all the Hudson's out there.
The story was good but it didn't have any depth or feelings in it. It was like a train ride with no windows so you go along to the destination but there are no soulful landscapes and thus, no accompanying memories or emotions.
Thank you for sending me a copy of the first 10 chapters to read and review.
Devil within is a dark romance. There is plenty of mystery within the first 10 chapters that I wanted to know more.
Parker is a young woman at University in New York. Her family come from old money and we get a small glimpse of them from what I read. Parker is more A simple girl than her parents the money doesnt bother her and flashyness doesn’t either although it is something she is accustomed to.
Hudson is a young man in his fourth year of law school. He has had a troubled experience in life growing up with an abusive father. Hudson has kinks but i didn’t fully get to know exactly what they were.
There is a part of Hudson that is dangerous and i can imagine that there is plenty more to come from this book.
my only critique would be that it jumps from scene to scene a little too quickly which leaves you questioning if you have missed something. However who knows what the rest of the book has in store.

My Overall Rating is 4 💋💋💋💋 My Passion Rating is 3 💋💋💋
I'm in love. This was a fantastically distrubing kind of read. There was a beautiful mix of insane and sane in the vile character Hudson. A. BRIAR did a wonderful job writing this vile villian. I felt a connection with Parker. She is young and neive 20 year old. Her character rang true with me. The ending gave me chills. Be warned.. this book is not is not a princess fairy tale. It is also not for the faint of heart. It's is for those of us who live in the shadows.
A book I absolutely could not put down. Each chapter entices you to the next and before you know it, you’re finished and craving the release of the second book.
With multiple POV, the author has achieved an incredible portrayal of a man cursed with sociopathy and his way of thinking. Perfectly dark and twisted in all of the right ways.
Of course, what would a book be without a little spice? With hit sex scenes and real problems modern teens are facing, this book has it all.
I also found this book initiating my fight or flight response. With the portrayal of Hudson to be so accurate, my mind recognised Hudson as a threat. I didn’t want the happy ever after we all too often find. I didn’t want hun to hate the entire world except for her. I wanted the truth to be out and for Parker to never have met Hudson. And I hope this is explored in book two
SOCIOPATHS. SEX. SCANDAL

This was a mindf*€k!! I equally hate and love Hudson and I don’t know how to feel about it!! I have to read book 2 to figure this out cause I was sucked in hard and was thrown through the loop.
I really enjoyed this book. I expected it to be darker, but even still I devoured it in a few hours. The story and it’s timeline moved well, and we have some back story, but a huge hint of more to come. The plot and characters are well developed, and it is a great story. One star off as the author could use with some editing of the book, but it’s not enough to be detrimental to the story. Give it a go!

I would actually give this 3 1/2 stars if I could. I love the concept of the story. I liked the writing and everything but there needs to be some editing. Typos, paragraph, POV inconsistencies, and flow were a bit distracting but I loved it. I found the story unique in romance. It’s clear Hudson is no hero and he needs knocked down. I found myself hoping something bad would happen to him. Like I hope his pee pee falls off, that’s how much I dislike him. I’m intended to dislike him, but I’m still invested which makes this well written. Parker is a likable character. She doesn’t follow her instincts and it leaves you feeling irritated but it’s also like watching a disaster that’s about to happen. It’s intriguing and although I had moments where I could shake her, I found myself rooting for her and liking her a lot. Again making this character well written. I’m looking forward to what will happen next.
What an unexpected book! Joe Goldberg meets Hardin Scott, well if Hardin was a psycho, I mean, that good!
This is not a lovey dovey story, this is raw and dark! but not in the typical dark romances sense, this book is twisted, well maybe not the book, but the MMC...
I didn't know what to expect with this book since the reviews had been turned, so I proceeded with caution and I truly loved it! It's a weird book with a very engaging storyline, a FMC quite naïve, but not the typical back boneless innocent girl, she is sweet, but very clear about what to expect with this guy, because she just had her heart broken recently, so this new guy is kinda the rebound so far. And this is when things turn very interesting, because the antihero has no empathy and is morally depraved so you keep wondering what his redeeming qualities could possibly be, and as right now I see none LOL, And our heroine has no idea who she is really dealing with....
This is not a book for the hopeless romantics or those with a fainted heart. As the trigger warning said, this is a dark romance so the MMC is not a walk in the park and this doesn't have a HEA, but a very intriguing cliffhanger!
With this said, I can't wait to dive into the next book!
Some errors in editing and also errors that make the story hard to follow - shoes a few inches too wide for feet? Outside soaking up vitamin C? Stuff like that couldn’t keep me reading sorry. Potential in the story line but also that is not original so it needs to be really well written to hold its own
Woooow. Don’t think I’ve ever hated a villain so much before. Don’t fall in love with Hudson, ladies. 😆
But for real, it’s an interesting take on obsession that I haven’t seen in books too often, which is, the socio/psychopathic lead is 100 percent vile. Attempted murder, cheats, possession, he is truly despicable.
A twisted and toxic relationship. Parker is a young college student who breaks up with her cheating boyfriend only to fall victim to Hudson. One minute he’s charming and sweet and the next cold and ghosting her. There is a realness to Parker and the dizzying back and forth of her relationship with Hudson that I liked
Hudson is a man ladies love. He so handsome, rich, and charming. Women loves him. But Parker she different from other females. She a woman that knows her own mind. Hudson a man that play with women lives, and heart.
For a young indie author it’s good. The steam is ok. But it’s not a romance that’s for sure. More of a psychological twister and if she decides to redeem him in book two it’s going to be extremely hard.
Parker & Hudson ejemplifican una extraña historia de pasión? amor ? ( no se transmite) posible co dependencia? Leeré el segundo libro , aunque el freaking personaje de Hudson no lo merece por ….
First off, please please please check the trigger warnings for this book. This book is the very definition of a dark psychological romance. This book left me wanting more! Parker is a young, sweet, and innocent college student trying to find her independence. Hudson is the most dreamy morally grey love interest. Hudson has many many demons and A.Briar did an outstanding job conveing his character and personality. Their relationship is a complete and total trainwreck I can't look away from. I cannot wait for the next book to come out because I need more of this relationship.
I’ve read plenty of dark romances but this was definitely different. Parker is a great character but Hudson is repulsive and even though he is clearly fucked up from childhood trauma, I wasn’t able to find any redeeming qualities. Book 1 ends on a non HEA cliffhanger
