Fear confronts us on a daily basis, attempting to rattle our faith and uproot our peace. Yet God’s assurance of His presence in every moment and circumstance of our lives gives us a grounded response to fear. In this three-week study, we will read what Scripture says about trusting God to walk with us in all seasons. Join us as we learn about God’s faithful character and how to trust Him in the midst of fear.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE FORMAT OF THIS BOOK: This book includes the Do Not Fear reading plan, along with a written introduction and many other helpful elements throughout, many of which are exclusive to this Study Book. Because God’s Word is living and active, we believe the Holy Spirit is faithful to illuminate our minds as we read Scripture. For that reason, devotional responses to each day’s reading can be found on SheReadsTruth.com and the She Reads Truth app. We invite you to join us there for further commentary and conversation.
She Reads Truth is a worldwide community of women who read God's Word together every day. Founded in 2012, She Reads Truth invites women of all ages to engage Scripture through curated daily reading plans, as well as online conversation led by a vibrant community of contributing writers. This community of “Women in the Word of God every day” represents a long list of cities and countries, a variety of backgrounds and traditions, and countless real-life stories. But there is a commonality that binds us: we believe God's Word is Truth. So we read. Every day we read a new passage together—working our way through books of the Bible, topics that matter, and seasons of the Church calendar. We engage with God's Word and with each other. And we keep coming back, on the hard days and the good days, because God and His Word never change, regardless of our circumstances.
I don’t think of this as a study guide. I thought this would be more of a deep dive and review/devotional of scripture related to the “Do Not Fear” theme. Instead, each day it was a 3-4 selections of scripture followed by the same 3 questions about how the situations outlined in the selections would have been frightening, how they relate to our current lives, and what we think we should do to not be afraid. There were a few pages dedicated to how to best memorize scripture that were really helpful in the back of the book, and I really enjoyed some of the scripture that was selected for the theme.
This is by far one of the most beautifully designed studies! The verses were very helpful and the topics were well chosen. Like always though, I wish there was a more interactive piece to these studies.
The questions are always so, so. I only ever really get a lot out of these studies if I listen to the podcast AND go through the study with someone else. Studying the verses is wonderful, but there could be more journaling prompts, ect to help jumpstart reflection.
Replace the prompts that are there with more intentional ones, and you’ll have me hooked!
"You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world." Do Not Fear. What a timely study given the world's current state. This study focused on many situations and people filled with all kinds of fear. God was always there, protecting, guiding, and using these scenarios to spread His love and grace. We may not like our current situations but God is with us and will never abandon us.
These studies are always a hit and miss affair, depending on one's circumstances at the time and whether the angle taken on the theme gels with the reader.
After a few days, I added in the online commentaries, easily found on their website, and this did enhance the experience but, sadly, this particular study just didn't connect with me at all.
God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
The Scripture readings every day were a good length, usually with a narrative, a Psalm, and a couple other affirming passages. The extras were helpful too, especially “Practicing the Presence of God.”
I loved going through this book. It is full of scripture about fear and how the Bible talks about it. It’s a particular struggle of mine and I will be gathering up and memorizing and meditating on these scriptures for when I start to fear.
Do Not Fear For The Lord Strengthens you, Equips you, Restores you, Sustains you, Sends you, Gives you peace and rest, Is your Refuge, and never leaves you.
Qur’an: Chapter 27, Verse 10— When he saw it wriggling as if it were possessed, he turned his back on it and tried to run away. “Moses, do not fear. Emissaries do not fear in My presence …”
