Annalise is desperate for a baby but is unwilling to give up her freedom to take a mate.
Hiring a stud is the next best option. She can get what she wants, then send the alpha on his way.
Unfortunately, life can never be as simple as she’d like it to be. When all she wanted was a male to do his duty and disappear, how did she end up with the one who values family above all else? Who sneaks his way past her barriers and makes her question what she claims to want…?
Will the alpha be able to stick to the contract and leave behind the family he helped create, or will Annalise find a way to get her Happily Ever After after all?
Wife and mother of four, my days have been reduced to begging for the littlest to sleep so I can have time to write my books. I'm blaming my reduced schedule on Cupcake. I grew up on Sci-fi and Fantasy books with some of my favorite authors being Anne McCaffery and Mercedes Lackey. In 2013 I discovered paranormal romance and delved into a whole new world. After reading Omegaverse stories from Addison Cain and Nora Ash, I had the idea for The Omega Prize and decided to take a shot at writing a book of my own. The beginning was rough, it took two months to write the first five chapters, but as my 2019 New Year’s resolution I said I was going to finish the story and committed to writing every day. It didn't take long for the book to begin telling itself, and from there I just kept going.
Most of my books are Omegaverse, but they span other genres like Sci-Fi, dystopian, and historical barbarians. There is even a small-town Enemies to Lovers Romance story in there. They main contain dark elements but I wouldn't call them dark romance since my alphas tend to be a little mushy in the center. I promise there's always a HEA.
I Love this series! I love this take on Omegaverse. What an amazing, sexy, supportive alpha Liam was!! He loves his family and can't imagine not being a part of his children's lives. The thought literally pains him. So to read Annalise break his heart and kick his emotions in the balls every few pages was tough. He worked so hard for months to get her to relax and come out of her shell, and eventually she realized she loved him and needed him. But...it was almost too little too late. I hate overly angsty books to be fair, I have too much crap happening in real life to enjoy being emotionally twisted up for entertainment. I don't enjoy being mad or tearing up every other chapter. Also it might be coming up on my time of the month so I might be extra crabby, just take this with a grain of salt. To be fair, there was chemistry and steam on top of scorching steam so there is that...
Book 3 in an Omegaverse world where Alphas are kept contained, betas rule and Omegas actually lead very fulfilling lives.
Our h is 40 years old and ready for achild, she hires Liam as her stud to breed. What she didn't know was that a pregnant Omaega needs to be around her Alpha, so the h/H have to live together until the baby is born at which point he'd be sent back to stud and she'd keep the baby basically severing all contact.
***** Unfortunately this didn't work for me gor a few reasons
1)The one thing I was leery of with this series was if the Alphas had been hired before, meaning they'd already slept with other Omegas. Regardless of the situation that's not something I want in my head. Here it seems Liam was 2 years into his contract. I say it seems because I didn't quite get confirmation. I don't know if I skimmed and so missed it but pertinent details I didn't catch which bugged me to no end. While I wasn't a fan of the fact that he may have been hired before thankfully this author left out all details and there were no disgusting comparisons
2)The h, now I get that she had issues and wanted her life run a certain way, but she stayed stiff and cold way too long. I needed that shell cracked much earlier. By the time she thawed I didn't like her
3)The age difference in this one seemed big, I can't recall confirmation of the H's age but he felt much younger than her. Maybe it's because she was so self contained while he had a more relaxed vibe but she definitely seemed much much older.
Though this one didn't work for me I'd try this author again
I saw this recommended on a Facebook group and thought I would give it a go since I’m always on the hunt for MF Omegaverse books.
I really enjoyed this! It has a really unique perspective on the Omegaverse, which usually involves Alphas bring in charge of the Betas and of course the Omegas. In this world though, the Betas are in charge and the Alphas are enslaved in camps due to their aggressive nature.
Annalise, a wealthy Omega, who is single and 37 years old decides that she wants to have a baby so she hires Liam as a “stud” for her next heat. There were a lot of great smexy scenes, but what I loved about this book was that Annalise gets preggers early in the book and the whole book is basically just Liam doting on her. It was really sweet.
This unique futuristic omegaverse romance is an enjoyable read & really grabbed my attention within the first few pages. It is the third book in the fascinating “Hired Series” but is complete & standalone. I found the plot to be quite intriguing with a few interesting surprises that is well-described. The two main characters (a independent omega, Annalise) & (a caring alpha, Liam) are strong-willed individuals with different outlooks on life & Annalise is quite determined to hold onto her independence but after some time has passed, she realizes that what she wants is actually not all that she needs. There is: omegas, alphas, drama, some twists, determination, memories, breeding contacts, heat issues, manipulations, demands, vulnerability, heartache, emotional turmoil, compromises, nesting, bonding, contentment, happiness, steamy scenes & a well-deserved, satisfying conclusion.
I enjoy Leann Ryans' "Hired" series immensely, of which Hired to Breed is the most recent she has written thus far. I don't know if she intends to continue the series, but I would keep reading them if she does. The books do not have vastly complex plots, and I happen to enjoy that about this series. Sometimes you just want to read about who these two characters are, just enough about their world to understand why they act/react as they do, and how they come together as a couple in love. You don't always need complicated twists and turns and suspense around every corner. I do enjoy that also but, with Leann's "Hired" books you get the simple, feel-good love story, albeit one that takes place in an alternate society/world. The Hired to Breed world, like the rest in the series, is just different enough from ours to be intriguing. It's familiar and not familiar, and that keeps me glued to the story. Imagine a world where half the men--the Alphas--are kept in "camps" with essentially no freedoms! They seem to be well cared for, and they can choose to hire themselves out for various work, but they are always supervised and controlled. For better or worse, this is their world. In this story, an Omega woman in her late thirties wants to have a baby, so she hires an Alpha to assist her with this. It is a feel-good tale. It is a little angsty (because, of course, you must worry whether Fate will bring them a HEA), and it's very satisfying. Five stars. I would be very happy if the author kept going with this series.
I really love all the books in this series. That's because Leann Ryans really turns the omegaverse trope on its head. As a dedicated overse reader, I truly appreciate that.
I felt so much for Annalise. She just wants a baby so much. She's willing to do so much to get that baby, and it had to be such a painful decision for her, considering what we learn about her past. The more we learn about her mother and what that evil woman did to Annalise, the more I really want to dig her up and kill her myself.
I thought that Liam was a really good man, very steady. I don't think that any of the other alphas we've met in this series would've been able to help Annalise the way that Liam did. He was really patient and thoughtful about the way that he did things.
This is the third book in The Hired Series and while it is a stand alone it is recommended that you read the first two books, however if you didn’t read the first two books like me, not to worry you should be able to follow the story just fine. Annalise is an Omega and she wants to have a baby and her biological clock is ticking and she feels like she is running out of time. So she is going to hire a Stud to Breed, but not to bond with her. She goes to Haven and checks out the available studs that meet her standards of healthy and blond, after some thought she chooses Liam. However Liam is uncertain, since this is going to be a breeding contract he can refuse if he wants to, and he is not certain he wants to accept, since according to the terms he will be giving up all rights to the baby and not have contact with the baby and Liam is close to his family and so he asks for two days to think it over. When the two days are up he has decided to accept, and the next thing is that Annalise is going into heat earlier than expected, so Liam is quickly fitted with he teeth guards so that he doesn’t penetrate her skin if he should bite her and off he goes to her room at Haven. When Liam arrives he finds her working on rubbing one out, so he tells her to come and she does. Then he goes down on her and then later starts having sex with her. A while later she services him orally and they have some really awesome sex for quite a while yet as she is still in heat. Finally Annalise’s heat is over. Then Annalise and Liam head to Eden and much to Annalise’s dismay she discovers that not only does she have to have sex with Liam because her body demands it, twice a week is just not enough and after a while having awesome sex with Liam often and getting to know him she eventually decides that she wants to bond with Liam and they have a very nice HEA.
I recommend this book highly, I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’m so glad I found this author. I’m loving this series of books. There’s an interesting take on omegaverse along with great chemistry and plenty of feels too. Can’t wait for her next release.
I really had to try to pull through with this one due to the female main character. While the female main characters of the previous books were very aware of how wrong their society and the hiring of an Alpha for anything was, this female character although being almost 40 years old, didn't seem to find anything wrong in hiring an Alpha to get pregnant.
It got old really quick that she tried to minimize contact with the MMC and that she felt that she could do everything on her own even though she continued to lose weight. It was also really strange that although having babies was her long life dream, she didn't know how pregnancy would be different for an omega and didn't buy any baby things. What threw me of the most was that the characters never once said 'I love you' to each other and the FMC went behind the MMC's back to get him out of his contract to stay with her in Eden without talking to him before the birth. Although it was what he wanted everything just worked out for her while he was at the bottom of the power dynamic in their relationship and she couldn't even have enough empathy to feel more than a little bit sad that he would never get to see his children and would have to give up his own human rights while in the contract.
It felt like she only stayed in Eden and mated him because she liked the support and wasn't lonely without him. I would have wanted a more self-aware and critical female protagonist for this particular book.

“I’d like to hire one of your studs to provide me with a baby.”
Annalise is nearing, she’s an Omega, has her own business and his thriving and wants a baby. Not having yet found a partner that she’d like to have a family with, she sets up to have a baby on her own.
“Annalise had succeeded in everything in her life except the one thing she’d dreamed of since she was a child. Seeing her nieces and nephew was the highlight of her week, but it was a constant reminder of what she lacked. The one thing she’d failed to achieve.”
Despite her intent on doing everything on her own, Annalise is “betrayed” by her Omega nature and the special needs her kind has during pregnancy.
“My mother hoped I would pursue a career in the arts,” he added, hoping by sharing more about himself that she’d open up to him. “Why didn’t you?” He turned his head so he could look into her eyes. “Because I turned out to be an Alpha.”
In these books the author created an universe were Betas and Omegas live side by side, but Alphas are seen as a danger to the other kinds and are maintained apart. They’re either studs, guards or they live in camps working. It’s not a fair environment for them, but it’s a new point of view in the Omegaverse and one I’ve come to love.
“Liam was going to be sorely disappointed if he thought the next nine months were going to be one long fuck session.”
Well I’m a little torn about this book... on one hand I loved the characters! Their phyque, their hopes and dreams, their demons, the depths of their scars... on the other hand I was rolling my eyes at all the sex scenes in this book. Granted they needed sex for her to be pregnant and apparently to be healthy during pregnancy, but I don’t feel like we needed all those scenes in such detail. I felt like I was reading one sex scene after the other, instead of having some focal points more thoroughly explored, like Annalise’s childhood. Or even Liam’s relationship with his family. In the end this book kinda of felt like a long fuck session.
I do hope the author continues this series. Despite, this one not being my favorite, I really enjoyed the books.
I am a big fan of this author but this one is hands down the best book of this series! I loved the H and h! Annalise has always been alone except for her sister with parents who were less than affectionate. Self-made, financially independent, her primary goal always to ensure that she is at the top of her career and that she stays independent. But as she realizes she's not getting any younger she decides to go through a service to hire an Alpha stud to have a baby that she will raise on her own. Liam has made it out of the work camps and as a very attractive and well behaved alpha is under contract with the center. Liam's background is very different from Annalise who chooses him to be the sperm donor. He came from a loving family with siblings, parents who were involved with their kids lives and deeply saddened when he presented as an alpha and would be taken from them. Liam goes through some serious personal soul searching before agreeing to service Annalise knowing he will have no contact with his child. From that point on this book begs you to keep flipping the pages. They both proceed down a nine month struggle to do their job, Annalise determined to meet her goal, get a baby and raise it alone, Liam struggling with his growing mental responsibilities for his child and the mother of that child. Both developing strong desires and feelings, but 1 hiding from them so determined to stay independent the other becoming more heart sick because the contract will come to an end. Their struggles are epic, an alpha and an omega pulled by biology and their time together. Ahhh, just 1 click! You won't regret it!
I received this book as an arc and give my honest opinion.
New author and series for me. This book is a standalone and I did not feel that I needed to have read the prior two books to understand the dynamics and background of the book. I love paranormal books and a strong alpha, but in a pleasant twist of the old age omega/alpha saga, this book gives the power to the omega's. Alpha's had been deemed dangerous and are kept in Alpha camps where Omega's can hire them. Annalise an financially stable and independent Omega decides to have a child and selects Liam. Annalise was treated badly by her mother for being an Omega and ignored most of her childhood, whereas Liam comes from a loving family who had to give him up when he presented as an Alpha.
After soul searching and a discussion with his family Liam decides to become the donor for Annalise and once she is pregnant, he will move with her to a camp where he can be free. Annalise is adamant that she will be able to have and care for her baby on her own but as she is forced to spend time with Liam, she realizes that not all Alpha's are bad. The author did an amazing job highlighting and describing the emotions and feelings between Annalise and Liam and their growing attraction to each other.
The supporting characters and relationships between them were realistic and well done. I loved this book; it’s become a favorite of mine and I will read the first two books in the series while I wait for the next book. A must read.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was vivid, with this culture being eerily similar and yet dramatically different to our own. The characterization was competent, with both the hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals, though I disliked the heroine quite a bit for quite a while. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and hot. The heat level of this novel was four chili peppers. The plot and pacing were tight, though not especially exciting. There were low stakes and high angst, which is typically not a narrative structure that I enjoy, though I did in this instance. This novel had the Business Arrangement trope, the Mating Bond trope, and the Loner Heroine trope. The world building was four stars. The plot and pacing were both three stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were four stars. I rounded up and gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, which was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers interested in a creative flipping of the traditional power structure in omegaverse novels. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

I absolutely loved this book, as well as the two that came before it. One thing I really enjoyed was how Eden started just as an idea in the first book, we got glimpses of it in the second, and we saw it blossom into a thriving community in the third. The progression of Eden as an independent society is a lovely parallel to the love that blooms between each couple.
Leann Ryan’s unique take on the Omegaverse, showing the ostracization and demonization of Alphas, mirrors the way our society treats minorities. The shame imparted onto Omegas speaks to the suppression of female sexuality throughout history. These contemporary elements really hit home and provide much more depth and nuance than other Omegaverse books I’ve read. Whether or not these metaphors were intentional, Ryan hit the nail on the head.
It’s heartwarming and uplifting to see Eden embracing people of all kinds as equals, which works alongside this couple to really pull at your heartstrings. The foundation of this book is family, yet it manages to still keep the focus intensely on the two main characters. The ending had me tearing up, this is truly the HEA to rule them all.
Liam is under a ten year contract with The Haven-- Omega Heat Servicing/Breeding. He doesn't really like it, but such is the life of the Alpha in this world. They are mistrusted and looked at as loose cannons which could go off at any time. The irony being, the people subjugating the Alphas are the ones who are bad. In these stories, the Alpha always seems to be a pretty good guy just trapped in a system. All they can hope for is a good omega woman to come along and claim them.
In this story, Annaleise wants to realize a life long dream of being a mother before it is too late for her. At thirty seven she feels her clock is ticking. She picks Liam. Liam is torn though... he doesn't want to be just a sperm donor. Family is important to Liam and the thought of his children not knowing him does not sit well. He doesn't just want to be used for a stud... he has nine months to convince her he's the one for her.
It was good to drop in at Eden, too. The next book is the final book, I'm hoping to see some law changes for these poor alphas.
Annalise is an Omega, wishing for a child. She makes an appointment at an Alpha facility, where she can choose an Alpha stud to become the male to impregnate her. Annalise is not interested in a mate. She does not want to be bonded. She wishes to have a child, who she will love and raise totally on her own.
Liam is the Alpha male that Annalise chooses. What she did not know, is that an Omega female needs the attention of her Alpha choice for the entire time of her pregnancy. Since Annalise runs her life with strict organization and structure, she agrees to keep Liam during her pregnancy. According to the contract, he will never be a part of his child’s life after the birth.
Following this omega and Alpha through their trials, tribulations and excellent growth was absolutely intriguing. I love the way they both manage to work out their own inhibitions in order to live a better life.
I know... I know... I feel down this rabbit hole... AGAIN!
Blame it on college workload that isn't allowing me to focus on good books.
Honestly, though, even if it still is a 2 star, it is not one of the worst OMEGAVERSE books. NOT ONE OF THE WORST, I'VE READ.
It was just romance, from beginning to end, some commentary on abuse, slavery and so and so. At least it's original in the sense that Alphas are the ones trapped and enslaved, which is still not good, of course.
I found the characters incredibly underdeveloped and the plot wasn't much. However, as we know, this book is about smut and the smut was good. Also a halfway decent Alpha. Miracles do happen, this one was incredibly nice compared to the others I've read about before. And I've read a lot of this subgenre already and for me to say this, is truly something noteworthy.
Please disregard the title, though it is a sum up of the story.
I was sent a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. Book 3 in the series this is Annalise's story. Set in an alternate omegaverse world, she desperately wants a baby but not the alpha bonding that normally goes with it. So she goes to a facility where she is shown a list and photographs of potential candidates and has a couple of days to choose which one she wants. She literally only has a couple of weeks before her heat is upon her so she has to work fast not only to choose her "mate" but to get settled into her new accommodations before things go belly up. She chooses Liam but posts restrictions - he's to do the deed then no more contact, he has to wear teeth guards so he can't bite her therefore marking her and he's not going to have any contact with the baby once it's born. Do things go according to plan? Well, you need to read this delightful book to find out. What happens with Liam when he sees Annalise in heat? How does he cope with the restrictions she has placed on him? Is he going to go willingly once the "deed" is done? All makes for a delightful story as only Leann can write. Extreme high recommendation for this author
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and it was great to see how they fell in love over time. The two main characters are so great together - you cannot help but root for them.
One critique - I would have loved for there to have been more sharing and dialogue between Annalise and Liam. I really wanted for her to open up to Liam about her past. I think that would have brought more of a satisfying conclusion.
Lastly, I would recommend this book and the entire Hired Series books. I have read all 3 Books in the Hired Series. I love this take on an omegaverse as it brings about very interesting circumstances for the stories to play out. They are well written with great characters and page turning stories. Can’t wait for more in this series and/or this world.
I didn't realize how much I missed this universe. Considering that I've been re-reading/listening to book 1 should have been a hint. I love how the women in this universe are strong and successful. Like the other two book, our Omega, Annalise has worked hard to build a life for herself. The difference, and something I find relatable, she's an older woman. What she's contemplating on doing is something I've considered doing too. Just not the way she's going to do it, LOL. It just made me love her so much more. Liam was such a sweetheart too, even though he's supposed to be an overbearing Alpha. He's really family oriented despite having been separated from them due to his dynamic. It just made him so much more lovable and sexy as heck. Who doesn't want a man who's family oriented right? Leann Ryans did not disappoint at all. Loved the book, love this series!
This is a great set-up for a story. FMC wants a baby and hires an alpha to help her achieve this goal, but he wants more. He wants to be in the child's life.
Overall, it was a fun story, but probably could have used some more editing.
The different take on the Omegaverse trope is one of the things that makes this series a standout, and this is my favorite story in the series. Liam is more in touch with his emotions and it's not all about control. I love how tender he was and how much he wanted to be involved with his child. Annalise was also different for an Omega. She's older for both an Omega and older than Liam which changed the dynamic of their relationship. It was nice to see that portrayed in an Omegaverse story. The heat and high level of steam was a perfect counterbalance to the emotional connections that were being formed, and made me love the characters so much more. This is a fabulous book that has amazing characters and a beautiful love story.
Bravo Leann you have written another winner. The dynamics through me for a loop at the beginning, this being the first I read in the series. Now I’m going to go read the others in the Hired series (“Hired for Heat” and “Hired to Protect”). With the dynamics being reversed, alphas are subjugated and the omegas are at the top of the food chain. Our omega is trying not to repeat her parent’s marriage. She’s going to do it all on her own. Little does she know she needs to be with the alpha father during the pregnancy to prevent complications. This throws a wrench in her plans. It’s hard to have your life thrown into a whirlwind that you have planned and there’s a hot hunky alpha involved. If you like omegaverse story you will love this one.
I have to say I love this series. You get a totally different take on Omegaverse. The Beta's and Omega's are more in control of the world and the Alpha's are locked up and used for breeding or manual labor. But the Alpha's in this series are still very much Alpha. I think the author really does a great job of showing this off in her books. And I enjoyed how Liam started getting Annalise to show her true self. She was so straight and Liam was so relaxed. And he kept doing things to show her that what she perceived as the right way, was far from what she actually needed or wanted. I can't wait to read more!
3.5 stars for me. Hot, steamy scenes, nice prose, I really like how Ms Ryans descriptive talent with words takes you right into that place and you can see it all happen in your head. Colors and textures and everything in between but the thing that I didn't love was that I didn't get that moment when h and H understands eachother and know eachother for what they are and not just because someone blended in the other routine. I missed the moment when they fell in love. In the epilogue we get that by then they know eachother backstories and yes, they do love eachother but I would've love to read about that instead of routines.
This was an entertaining omega verse book. I really liked the unique take on alphas and omegas in society, it was very interesting to see things switched around. Annalise was a difficult character to get to know, with high walls built around her for protection. Liam did a great job giving her the time and space to get comfortable with him and to show her true self. The two of them had great chemistry, and I hated the thought of Liam being sent back to Haven after the birth of the baby. So the HEA was quite welcome, and Eden seemed like the perfect place for that to happen. If you like an alpha male with a soft side and a spunky omega you will enjoy this book.
This book was 3.5 stars for me. I enjoyed this story of an older Omega and a younger Alpha. Even the breeding was something I surprisingly really liked. What gave it a 3.5 star rating for me was Annalise, the fmc. I found her just to much of a bitch for my liking. Yes I softened to her by the end of the book but her attitude throughout the book annoyed the hell out of me. I understand she was this way for a reason. It was nothing the author did, her character just rubbed me the wrong way. You have to have a character like her sometimes. A big thing for me is that fact that if I don't like an fmc I'll DNF the book, but I loved the story so that made it worth the read.
This series is wonderful, and this book in particular for exploring another perspective on the power exchange in omegaverse. I really appreciate how Annalise is portrayed as being independent, not making her choices because she the situation she is in forces her to, but because she grows as a person and wants to share the experience. Liam is a great foil for her in that he is very family oriented while Annalise grew up without a lot of support. This is more of a slow burn type buildup compared with a lot of omegaverse tomes, but it is definitely worth the read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love this totally different spin on Omegaverse. Betas run the world, Omegas can have successful careers, but Alphas are locked in camps or facilities as soon as thry present. I really enjoeyed this being an older woman, younger man romance too. Dynamic was great, getting to see previous characters were awesome, returning to Eden even better. World building is amazing in this series amd the sex is so 🔥. Like FIRE! Can't wait for more in this series!!
