I loved this book! Caleb Ward is very creative; the character building is amazing and I loved the life lessons we can all learn from each character’s story. God loves us with all of our imperfections.. and remember 🎼🎼”what a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and grieves to bear! And what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!”🎶🎼
I bought the physical book a few months ago, but ended up giving it to my sister when I was about halfway through. I knew I'd want to finish the story eventually, but needed more time. The book translated well from print to ebook. I appreciated the complexity of the storyline and characters. You see the story from multiple time periods and I appreciated how the author builds suspense by going back and forth between the current time and the history of the current civilization. I liked the different characters we got to zoom in on and how they grow in unique ways. I would recommend this book for a teenager, though there is some violence.
Downfall is a new world with old realities that any Christian would find easily relatable. Many times throughout the book I had to pause and reflect upon my own life as I connected with certain characters in less than flattering (but convicting) ways. Ward does a good job of setting up a captivating fantasy backdrop in which important questions about faith can be asked and answered.
I am eagerly excited to read Book 2 when it comes out! The short stories on the website will have to suffice until then!
This is a good, clean fiction fantasy read. It is packed with action and dialogue. You can tell the author did his research and put a lot of thought and effort into making the story work. I would definitely recommend this book for a action packed read that is exciting for the reader, and also brings spiritual truths to life.
This is a great story, with relatable characters, and a timeless plot peppered with fresh unknowns. Caleb has done a fantastic job here and I'm excited to a see what happens in the next installment.
After reading Downfall, I gave it to my 13 year old grandson for Easter. He loves it and is asking me if there are any more. I told him, "Yes, but you will have to wait." This is great Christian fantasy with real spiritual truth, intriguing characters with plenty of action.
