Sarah Elkhaldy's "How To Set Yourself On Fire" acts as a hand-guide to the oldest past time known to our existing. It explores being and nonbeing with equal affection, often holding notes of a razor's edge that reverb out to the boundaries of infinity before making peace and returning to sender.
One of the best reads of my life! I connected so much with this book. Every note was relatable.. every word that Sarah has articulated has been a retreat for my soul. I wish I could speak the way she does. As a fellow writer, it makes me envious that she has managed to articulate something that my entire being was burning up for. So much wisdom in every freaking sentence. I Loved It! Whilst I was feeling down on certain aspects of myself.. this book definitely helped pick me up. And I am extremely grateful!
Sarah, if you are reading this.. I wish you would write more.
It wasn't what I hoped for. This book did not make me set myself on fire, thankfully. Unsettling. The writer should take a nice holiday somewhere sunny.
