Sex: It’s Still Worth Waiting For

Rate this book
This book was first published in 1989 and was runner up for the book of the year award. It was rewritten in 2007 and now again in 2021. It has remained popular because it speaks the truth about sex. Is a radical and counter cultural book that calls men and women to purity.

God created sex and knows how we can experience it at its very best. He calls us to wait to have sex while we are dating and, believe it or not, there are great reasons why we should seek purity beyond “God says.”

Yes, I’m calling you to do something hard but nothing of worth or value is ever easy. Alice Cooper says, “Drinking beer is easy. Trashing your hotel room is easy. But being a Christian, that’s a tough call. That’s rebellion.”

So come join the rebellion as we reestablish our standards and learn why Sex is still worth waiting for.

My parents got me this book for me and my girlfriend (at the time). In the moment, I thought it was odd and not the most tasteful thing to be giving us. However, I have learned a lot from this book. My girlfriend (at the time) right after receiving this book broke up with me over things that I had been doing and lying about. I struggled a lot because I allowed things to distract me from my walk and from loving her the way a Godly man should. Say its cringey or weird but this book helped me understand a lot of things that were troubling me and helped me get a better idea of how I need to treat myself, my future partner, the hard tropics discussed in this book (that you don't normally hear pastors or churches openly talk about), and how to treat my relationship with Christ. I really hope and pray that others will find this book and give it a really well-deserved read, not for just self-ish reasons but to better treat and love their future or curent "other half."
