Flynn Michaels lived for the sea and for solitude. Only his call to the Kracken eclipsed his yearning for the pull of the tide. His fellow SEALs are his family, His duty his joy.
Until she crashed into his life. And everything changed.
Savage Predator is a paranormal romance with steamy heat in and out of the bedroom for mature readers.
I started out not sure when I read book one, but now I love this series. I enjoyed this book and the bit of humour infused along the way.
Savage Predator is the third book in the series Masters of the Deep, and is a paranormal shifter D/s tale with a shark and a Navy SEAL who also happens to be a dominant. These men know what they want and expect their women to fall in line.
Flynn and four other shark shifters were born to follow in their father's footsteps to protect the secret of the sunken USS Kracken. He is a dominant man in everything he does, and when one woman gains his notice when she gets too close to the Kracken and their secret, he won't be denied. After one taste, she is his, she is the submissive he didn't know he wanted, and the sparks fly. Devon is used to being in charge as a JAG officer by sexually she likes to have it taken away and Flynn knows just how to stop her mind.
The chemistry is hot and melt the sheets; these men will stop at nothing to preserve their secrets and protect their women from the evil trying to control them.
A wonderful addition to the series, riveting read with great characters and plot
This is a great third book in what has been a wonderfully written series comprising of terrific characters and simply amazing storyline based around well thought out plots. It has been simply impossible to find yourself to be blown away by this series of books and the mind that has brought this series together for readers to enjoy.
Flynn is once again at loggerheads with his beautiful and sassy woman Devon who keeps him on his toes, she is an exact opposite and together they are a brilliant combination and compliment each other, however they also dive each other around the bend on occasions.
Will Devon be able to accept Flynn and the fact that he is a shark shifter something that she had only recently become aware of, they love each other and these two strong characters are simply amazing to read about. They work side by side to see that those around them are kept safe and that their opinions and beliefs are respected and not simply cast aside which is not always an easy thing to do.
You will I am sure find that like me once you begin reading it is impossible to stop until you reach the end of this book so a very late however, equally exciting night reading a wonderful book. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This author continuously amazes me with her awe-inspiring ability to write such enthralling paranormal romances that captures the reader’s attention. Naturally I absolutely enjoyed reading this shark shifter romance & would highly recommend it to everyone that enjoys reading paranormal romances. This is the third book in the series and can be read as a standalone but I would really recommend reading the series to fully understand the underlying storyline. The well-written plot is very interesting and has some very intriguing situations/events. The characters are well-developed with distinctive personalities & portray realistic emotional feelings suited to the unusual predicaments they find themselves in & all of them complement each other very nicely. The secondary characters play excellent supporting roles. There is: a navy seal & fierce shark shifter (Flynn) is sent to Mexico with fellow navy seal shark shifters and rescues a intelligent but feisty, independent young woman (Devon) from a despicable man (Schumacher) then the attractions begin to flare between them, adventure, action, twists & turns, drama, intrigue, suspense, espionage, mystery, secrets, murder, danger, threats, enemies, domination/submission, steamy scenes & a happy conclusion for this couple with a very intriguing epilogue that could be paving the way for the next book in this series.
I never thought Flynn and Devon's connection would be that fast at that level of intensity. I really though there would be more pushback on her part.
I liked that Devon was another strong, intelligent, independent woman who seamlessly paired up with Trinity and Shiloh to create an awesome trio of friends.
This book could be read as a standalone, but it would be much better if read in order. This was the 3rd book, and the layers of the mystery of the Guardian Project are slowly being peeled back in each book.
I am rating this 4.75, only because I have issues, lol. With Devon investigating the Admirals death, with all the security of the laptop and burner phones, with the suspicion regarding so many of the players in the investigation, I expected Devon to stay in closer touch with the ensign that was assigned to her.
This does not detract from the enjoyment of the book at all, but I was surprised he did not come looking for her knowing what she set out to do. Maybe I wasn't judging the duration of time correctly, and one call was sufficient.
While this is a shark shifter romance, with a D/s leaning and a number of steamy scenes, the mystery of the Kraken and the Guardian Project is even more intriguing. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.
This series keeps getting better and better. Felicity Brandon and Delta James are amazing writers who created a unique new shifter romance and I’m amazed how much I’m enjoying reading it. Savage Predator is the latest in the series and it kept me engaged from beginning to the end. I never would have thought I would enjoy reading about shark shifters but I have to admit I am. Sparks truly fly when Navy Jag Devon and Flynn meet when she comes to investigate how and why the admiral was killed. Flynn and his mates are trying to figure out the same thing, so they decide to work together. After one magical night they are falling for each other fast and hard. Flynn who always thought he was going to be a bachelor forever, now thinks he’s met the one he’s destined to be with forever. Devon finds an inner peace and sense of safety and love she never had before. I’m now patiently waiting for the next book in the series. I highly recommend this series to everyone, it has amazing characters and a wonderful storyline.
This is the third book in the Masters of the Deep series but can easily be enjoyed as a standalone. This is a heated shark shifter romance that features Flynn and Devon. The story is well written and very developed characters. The mix of heat, action, adventure, action, suspense, mystery and D/s elements made for an engrossing read. I really enjoyed the connection between this couple.
This is another great read for the series and I loved how full of action and twists it was. These two main characters were fab together. I'm also loving that we're getting more info for the over arcing plot but, safe to say, the mystery continues ;) Now I'm anxiously waiting for the next book to see what else unfolds.
This is book three of the Masters of the Deep series and tells the story of Flynn Michaels and Devon Bradford. Flynn is one of a group of shark shifters, descendants of an original group of five men who sacrificed themselves to protect the secret of the USS Kraken, many years ago. The group of five men are all different kinds of sharks, Mason Lockhart is a Great White, Zak Vance is a Tiger Shark, Logan Merriweather is a Shortfin Mako, Nash Colton is a Bull Shark and Flynn Michaels is an Oceanic Whitetip. They are a tight unit of Navy SEALs who have worked together for some time and must return to the water frequently, to avoid them shifting on land. They were all recently on a mission on a yacht when the Admiral was assassinated. All accounts of their presence has been removed from any reports done by the authorities in Mexico. As has the presence of Trinity Dare, who is Zak’s girlfriend, but also works for Oceanic Adventures under Barry Driscoll, whose yacht the event was on. Only one of the other men in the unit has a girlfriend, Mason, and his girlfriend is Shiloh. Commander Bradford works for JAG and is ordered to Mexico to investigate the Admiral’s death, being less of a perceived threat to the Mexican authorities, but who also knew the Admiral very well. The unit have also been called to Mexico by one of their handlers, Schumacher, who none of the team like, especially after how he treated Shiloh! They are there to ensure the investigation doesn’t find out what secrets they protect nor about their abilities. Flynn normally lives and loves the sea and solitude of his life. Even though Zak and Mason have girlfriends, it is not something he sees himself having, content to pick someone up when he needs a release. But when he catches sight of a woman outside Schumacher’s hotel, he is immediately struck and unable to forget her. She has crashed into his life and totally upends it! She has been trying to tie together all the different reports and witness statements, and figure out why there are so many discrepancies. As she and her aide look into this, any evidence they do discover, then disappears. She finds out about Flynn and his unit being on the yacht, but nothing about their actual secret abilities. He meets up with her and they soon find themselves totally intoxicated in their attraction to each other. She may be very commanding in her work role, but in her love life she prefers to be submissive, something Flynn easily realised. The heat explodes between them and she is soon also pulled into his world, as her investigation pulls her into danger. Her own issues with Schumacher bring out the very protective side of Flynn. The unit’s main purpose and very existence is supposed to stay secret, with only a few outsides knowing part of the truth. Shiloh and Trinity are now on the inside track, something Devon is also brought into. But there are more secrets to be uncovered and danger would come if they were. With an oil company wanting to put an oil rig near the secret location, an oil spill will bring another strong woman to their attention. The secrets of the Guardian Project are possibly known by some dangerous foes, maybe even from the inside. I can’t wait to see what happens to the unit next and if they can discover who is behind the danger to their secrets. Only two are still single and I’m sure that won’t last long in these steamy reads. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
“Savage Predator” is the third book in the ‘Masters of the Deep’ series by Felicity Brandon and Delta James. These paranormal romances feature shark shifters, a concept with bite! The series has an overall story line, and within that each book focuses on a different couple. You can enjoy this book as a standalone and will still be able to understand what’s going on in the bigger story, but I think you do get more out of it in that regard if you’ve read the previous books.
Flynn is usually content with his life. The sea gives him peace, mission and everything regarding the Kracken give him purpose, the other men on his Navy SEAL team are his family and friends. he has no trouble finding a willing partner when he’s in the mood to be with a woman. But very recently he’s been feeling a sense of disquiet; and to be honest with himself, he’s envying the relationships two of his teammates are enjoying. When he sees a beautiful woman across the ground a huge resort Flynn can’t figure out why he’s so powerfully drawn to her – it’s an unfamiliar feeling. Devon is an extremely successful Navy lawyer. Sent to the Mexican resort to investigate the assassination of her mentor, an Admiral, she quickly discovers that there’s more to the terrible event than she’d even suspected … and she already had a lot of suspicions. One thing – one tall, handsome thing - she never expected was to meet a man like Flynn. Her overwhelming feeling of connection to him is unprecedented.
When Flynn and Devon actually meet, the attraction they both felt separately is magnified and their relationship blazes into existence. It naturally falls into a D/s power exchange dynamic … which turns out to be quite the opposite of their respective positions in the Navy chain of command. Even more complicated than that, however, is the fact that Flynn is somehow involved in Devon’s investigation. As the pieces slowly fall into place, the intensity of the story keeps increasing. Multiple twists and turns add to the overall intrigue. The secondary characters are interesting and provide some lighthearted moments. The ending of the book was good, and positions us perfectly for the next one in the series. i never even imagined something like ‘shark shifters’ before this series, and now I’m looking forward to learning more about the next one.

Devon is a lawyer in the JAG. She is sent to investigate the assassination of a Navy Admiral. She quickly discovers that there is more to the story than meets the eye including a group of men that don't appear in the official record. Flynn is part of a super-secret group that is tasked with protecting some very big secrets. He and his fellow shifters want to figure out why the Admiral was killed but they know that they don't have all of the information or resources they will need to solve the mystery.
This is a pretty lighthearted tale of instant love considering it's a murder mystery. If you like lightning-fast love (think a couple of days), then you might like this. There are elements of a bigger mystery that are introduced and I'm sure will be worked out in subsequent stories.
Devon is submissive. I wish the author had worked in Devon's history before Flynn and Devon just make assumptions about each other and they turn out to be right. If they had been wrong, there could have been some serious issues. This story is part of a series and I feel like I was missing a lot of little bits and pieces since this is the first story I've read in the series. Devon just accepts that Flynn is a shark shifter as if it's no big deal. I thought that was odd. What happened to Ensign Carlson? I don't want to give too much away but he's kind of left hanging while Devon does her own thing.
This is a contemporary romance/mystery set primarily in Mexico. Overall, this isn't my favorite story by these authors. I will read more in this series because I would like to know how it's going to be wrapped up.

After reading this book, I just know the next book is going to be great because this book did not disappoint. Flynn and Devon have a connection as soon as they meet. The mutual attraction is there right from the start. Flynn knowing beyond a doubt that Devon is his mate, and he will stop at nothing to get her. Luckily Devon feels the same even though it could conflict with her superior role in the military as a JAG Officer. As the two explore their mutual steamy attraction, they are also, along with the other shark shifters and mates, trying to unravel the mystery of the Admiral’s murder, the Kraken and the Guardian Project. All three are connected but something more is going on. And while we do not find out what is going on in this book, we learn more about our hunky shark shifters, how they came to be and what their mission. The writers provide just enough information to keep you waiting impatiently for the next book. The plot thickens and the overarching story line keeps getting better and better. A very good story, full of heat and suspense. What more could you ask for?.

Flynn, along with a secret group of shark shifters, is an Oceanic Whitetip Shark whose sole purpose is to protect the secrets hidden within the USS Kraken.
Devon entered Annapolis right after high school. She immediately attended law school and quickly graduated from Officer Training. Now, she is being asked to fly to Mexico to investigate the death of Admiral Warrenton. Once she arrives in Mexico, Devon is unacceptably waylaid by Schumacher, the same man the shark shifters distrust immensely.
Flynn is immediately fascinated by Devon. He is hoping for a one-night stand. Since Devon is completely, surprisingly, interested in Flynn, she allows her submission to react to his dominance and they find their attraction is way more than either of them expected. WOW! Their connection is Hotter than Hot!!!
The problem faced by the shifters and Devon is to try to determine what Schumacher and another deviant, Eli Green, are working on.
This is an exciting, dangerous and intriguing story. I love the way Devon allows her submission to immediately answer to Flynn’s overpowering dominance. They both have dominant day time personalities, but when they interact outside of work areas---WOW! I cannot wait to read more.
In this third book about a SEAL team made up of shark shifters, the murder of Admiral Warrington makes the head of JAG sent Commander Devon Bradford to find out what happened. None of the documents about the shooting, allegedly by a terrorist, including who was there, the catering guest numbers, and security aboard didn't add up...and Shumaker, a spy from the agency was involved, which spoke of cover-up...so she was heading to Mexico to lead investigation. Meanwhile the SEAL team, Nash, Mason, Zak, Logan and Flynn got orders to go to Mexico since they were onboard that night...Flynn caught site of Devon when they were talking to their Guardian contact, Shumaker. He was pond scum, having issues with the team, but they had no recourse if they wanted to protest their patrol on the Kraken...but there are lots of twists, turns, deceit and lies in this page-turner along with a love story between a higher-ranking JAG officer and a tall, blond and lethal shark shifter...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Flynn had resolved himself to living alone for the rest of his life, his mission with the Kracken would just have to be enough. It would have to be. Then he saw her. Devon. There was a connection unlike either one had felt before, but can he trust her? She is a JAG lawyer, sent from Washington to Mexico to investigate the death of an Admiral. What they have is special, and both of them will do what it takes to keep it. This story is well-written, and the characters are memorable. That comes as no surprise, with two master storytellers behind it. Devon is a particularly well done character. Used to being the one in charge, she has searched for a Dom to submit to in the bedroom, and has happened across the perfect man for her. Spicy scenes abound, and the overarching plot line carries throughout the series. Because of that plot line, this should be read as part of the series, and not as a stand alone. This one is well-worth the one click.

'Savage Predator' is book three in Delta James and Felicity Brandon's "Masters of the Deep" series and like the two books before it, this one grabs hold and doesn't let go until the end. Each book can be read as a standalone but truthfully, I think anyone just coming into the series will enjoy it more knowing everything that brought this team and us to this place. Flynn is just as described: determined, desolate, and dangerous but he's also a Dominant Alpha Oceanic Whitetip shark. Devon is a JAG attorney with the Navy who has been sent to Mexico in order to find out exactly what happened to the Admiral, why it happened, and who did it. It's a good thing she has friends in high places when needed. She's also a submissive in her private life which sets off a beautiful D/s relationship. Their matched intelligence, their perfect chemistry aligning, and their fierce determination to get answers brought this book an exhilarating experience as I flipped through the pages. There's only one problem that could become a sticky wicket …. She outranks him!
Intriguing read, book 3 of a series and while it can be read as a standalone story, I do think readers who’ve read the prior two books would enjoy it more thoroughly. I enjoyed the book and the romance between Flynn and Devon, but the overarching storyline that connects these books as a series was more than a bit confusing.
The events in the book seem to have taken place over a 3-4 day period, but reference an event that took place a few days prior to the beginning of this book.
The intimate moments between Devon and Flynn are sizzling and involve light D/s play. I was a little shocked how Devon greets Flynn when he meets her in her hut at the resort; however, it definitely grabbed his attention and got things heated up quickly!
This is a pretty quick read and it kept my interest mostly because I haven’t read a romance with shark shifters before.

Savage Predator is the third book in a series of stand alones written by Delta James and Felicity Brandon. This series has been a wonderful reading experience written by two adept authors. I’ve read every book thus far and plan to continue until its conclusion. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself.
This book is the story of Flynn and Devon, two very strong individuals who come together to create something special and worthwhile in their lives, despite the dangers lurking around the corner of their perceptions. In this romance Devon knows just how to treat Flynn and Flynn reciprocates in kind. This was such a fun read!
As is usual with these two authors the story is cleanly written and keeps the reader’s attention throughout. The world building is very concise, the plot engaging and the characters fully fleshed out and interesting. And as is usual with these two authors I highly recommend their work!
I always enjoy books written by Delta James and Felicity Brandon, two very good authors who I always try to read. When I saw they were writing The Masters of the Deep series together, I knew I had to read it. This is the third book and it tells Flynn and Devon's story. He is part of a team of protectors whilst she's a lawyer for JAG assigned to investigate who killed a VIP. I must admit that after watching various seasons of NCIS and JAG I was confused as to why JAG was investigating and not NCIS. That said I loved the book.
I did like them together, especially their strong connection which was there right from their first meeting and I definitely wanted them to be able to be together. The plotline is exciting and had me hooked and captivated from the very start. I loved the characters, he's strong and caring whilst she's so determined and fierce together their chemistry sizzles!!!
The best one yet! I was so excited to see that Flynn was a real dom and didn’t just bully/force Devon into submission. It was also really nice to have the main female character, Devon, already have experience submitting and that she willing did it for Flynn. I have so many issues with some other alpha characters that punish their partner for breaking rules they didn’t know were rules that it was so refreshing to see a man act as a real dom and set expectations and discuss safe words with his submissive. The suspense around the guardian project and the kraken has continued to escalate and I’m curious to see where it all goes. I was hesitant after the first two books in the series portrayed the sharks as more villain than hero but this book made them seem more like a real seal squadron and like good guys who happen to like some kinky things. I hope the rest of the series follows Flynn and Devon’s lead with the consensual submission and BDSM relationship.
Devon (h) has been sent to Mexico to investigate a murder case which Flynn (H) and his fellow SEAL/shark shifter friends are a part of. Devon is a really strong female JAG and it's great that she's a really intelligent woman who's been put in control of the investigation. Flynn is the right amount of control/protector that she needs in her private life away from work. The D/s sex scenes between Devon and Flynn come at you fast and furious and are oh so delightful! Though I am going to say that I wasn't thrilled with the notion of punishment in from of his friends/their partners. I'm not sure that I liked the characters - for some reason they just didn't spark it for me. The storyline is interesting and definitely kept moving along with the intrigue. I have not read the earlier books in the series and am kind of torn over whether or not I want to.
In book 3, we get Flynn's story and like the other 2 books before this one, I'm completely on board with this. Devon is a smart and sassy woman and Flynn is instantly attracted to her. We're still trying to figure out who killed the admiral and there is still a lot of stuff going on. Can Flynn and Devon make it work between them and what happens when she finds out just who Flynn is? I'm loving this series so much as I never thought anything about shark shifters would be something I would come to love. There is so much going on that the reader gets drawn into the story. While this can be a standalone, it really is best to start with the first book so that you will understand what is going on with the guys and what their mission is. By far, this is going to be one of my favorite series this year!
Oceanic Whitetip: First to Greet You When the Ship Goes Down!! 🤯
I love this concept, really I do. Exotic shifters are my favorite shifters, and aquatic shifters are truly the most exotic.
Sadly, this entry just didn’t work for me. You have a shifter that doesn’t shift much that you ever see nor interact with. That’s built into the cake if you’re writing a story that seems completely landlocked. Devon, our romantic lady lead seem to become the “s” in the BD without much background or character development.
I hate giving less than stellar reviews for an author I so enjoy. This one just didn’t work for me.
It’s well-written though and plenty for a regular reader of paranormals to enjoy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Great story especially for someone that is truly spooked by the deep blue sea and its hidden predators, but this is one predator of the sea worth the bite from!
As usual, Delta James creates such irresistible hot male characters and sassy feisty females and this book falls into that successful formula she is known for in creating such entertaining "hot" paranormal romances that will entice you to continue reading until the very end and still wanting more! A story although book 3 of a series is very much a book that can be read on its own and easily followed but like any good series its always so much better if you have read the previous titles to get the bigger overall picture.

I love this series so much! Each story is a stand alone, but I recommend reading them in order. Out of the 3 books that have been released in the series, I feel like this one pulled me in quicker. The characters have very strong personalities and I love their explosive connection. The danger and excitement kept me intrigued, and I love that the authors left some questions unanswered. Honestly, these are two of my favorite authors and I would read anything they write. The combination of Military men and Shark-shifters is fresh and original, the story moves at a good pace, there is the perfect amount of tension and steam between the characters, the storyline is amazing, and it's wonderfully written. What's not to love?
This was an amazing story. Flinn and his 4 Seal brothers are part of a secret project. Each man is unique in his own way. The story is about Flynn finding his other half in the form of Commander Deven. Both are strong characters that find each other in this story and bring something wonderful and love into their lives. There is danger, duty, honor, action, BDSM, shark shifters, murder, passion and love. I love Deven's reaction when Flynn turns into a White Tip shark and she ends up swimming with him. I can't wait to read the next story in this series. Will they ever find out who killed the admira? Will they be able to outwit Mr. Green and his cronies? Highly recommend!.

There’s trouble a-foot, with the SEALs from the Guardian Project at the heart of it. Flynn, the oceanic white-tip shark and light heart fun guy, takes one look at Devon, the JAG lawyer sent in investigate the assassination, make eyes at each other, and things spiralled hot and heavy from there. I loved how Flynn and Devon seduced each other - it was clear that they were both completely into the power play, even if the outside world was messing. Things are getting exciting for the Shark shifters - I’m excited for the next book in the series (Wicked Predator).
Book 3 in the Masters of the Deep (Flynn’s story) and WHOA each book is getting better, with the mystery surround the assassination of the Admiral, the JAG corp are sending in one of their top investigators...Devon Bradford. The connection between these two strong characters is pretty instantaneous and the steam factor was through the roof but added with the intrigue and suspense of the background plot and I found this to be a book that is hard to put down and I know I can’t wait to read the next book to see what will happen next….

Savage Predator by Delta James and Felicity Brandon is book 3 in the Masters of the Deep series. This one is the story of Flynn and Devon. He is part of a team that protects the Kraken. She is a JAG lawyer sent to figure out who killed an important man. When they meet, there’s a strong connection. But, there could never be anything between them, could there?
Exciting, captivating story that had me hooked from the first page!! He is strong, yet caring. She is fierce, determined, but needs a strong hand. Together they sizzle!!! Great story!!
I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the third book in the Masters of the Deep and I can’t get enough of this series or the shark shifters. They are fantastic and I was thrilled that Flynn was finding his match in Devon. Devon is a Commander in JAG and has been sent to uncover what really happened to the Admiral. She doesn’t expect for Flynn to sweep into her life and change everything. Flynn and his brother in arms have been called to Mexico. There are many secrets that they both need to uncover though. Will they discover what is really going on?

OMG! This series book three: Master's of the Deep only gets better, the authors Delta James and Felicity Brandon have really splashed us with water to get our attention. Flynn is a sharkshifter he is a Seal from the USS Kraken with his Seal brothers they all take turns to patrol. Devon is Commander Devon Bradford to all the seal's she had to work with Flynn. The chemistry was hot and steamy with a lot of spice. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story.
