Nothing Stands In The Way Of A Man Determined To Help Another
King and Slater, both former weapons used by their country in war, both growing and evolving into men determined to be there to use their skills to help in situations of their choosing. They are content at the moment, living in a small Maine town with their wives and kids. They are relaxed, quiet, until King takes notice of an old town woman obviously upset, crying in her beer. That is all it takes, King listens to her story and vows to make amends, his way. What starts as going after some tough guys who ran over a dog quickly morphs into a global operation that surpasses anything King could have imagined. And the plan he comes up with to deal with every person involved will have you doubting our hero! But, just how often has King Ever let Any of us down? A fantastic adventure that takes you from Maine to the jungle of South America, with a dedicated hero intent on dealing with the wrongs being committed that can affect those in his community. This author keeps things exciting and surprising, giving readers a totally enjoyable experience.
I always enjoy the books in this series. Rogers IMO is one of the best writers in this genre. This book largely left out Jason's and Will's significant others. It moved slower than many of the other books on the series. It still had many twists and turns, and several plot surprises, but I wasn't glued to the book as I have been in the past. Compared to many other books I've read its five stars, but compared to others in the series it's not quite there.
If you're familiar with the duo of King and Slater you shan't be disappointed in Matt Rogers latest tome. Excitement, love, romance, and cat like reflexes added to corruption, drugs, and money. What a wonderful combination and another great story from Matt Rogers. I have read them all (some three times) and I have yet to be disappointed as I have watched my intrepid heroes grow and morph into men who care enough to send the very best - themselves.
I'm currently reading Book 14, "Smugglers". I love the series. I have only one issue. In chapter 7,in the last sentence, I didn't understand what Violeta said as to why she was drinking. The narration seemed mumbled at that point.
Can ANYONE, Please tell me what she said in the last sentence of the aforementioned chapter? I'd love to have someone email me the answer at: sutureman1@gmail.com . Please simply put "Violetta" in the subject line. Thank you.
I hope book 15 isn't the last book containing the "Dynamic Duo". <--- (Hint for Mr. Rogers)
This series off books are like old friends to me and I enjoy the fact that the " families " are finally able to handle a few things their "own way " ! I hope to have the opportunity to read some more of Matt Rogers' books before I sidle off to my own personal cloud with fully stocked kindles! Great job on this book and will be eagerly awaiting the next!
I've read every book by Matt. The action and character development is always fantastic. I love how King and Slater have evolved from weapons of war to older, wiser versions of themselves accepting new responsibilities and their aging bodies and expanding mind sets. Most authors can not pull that off over an extended series.
Keep up the great work, I look forward to the next phase in this world.
As the two protagonists age, I find myself liking them more and more. Less constant preening and more introspection on their lives and what is really important. I spent 17 years working with people that are similar and your healing slows... You a rent as fast but, you circumvent that with thinking more and more. You mellow and, that's what I see king and Slater doing. Slowing slightly and mellowing.
I love the action pack, deadly encounters! The plot was new and exciting. You will appreciate the research Mr. Rogers put into this books. King and Slater was excellent and a little hopeful, which might not be a good thing. You have to read and judge for yourself.
This time round Slater and King work the same problem, but from different ends. Meaning that for the most part they are solo There is still background family stuff going on, but the real change is the 2 of them going about the hunt separately. It's almost back to the early individual books and it makes a surprisimg and pleasant change
The premise was ridiculous. A dog is killed and a woman is scared to speak out. King goes on the offensive to investigate, assaults someone without knowing whats going on and without provocation, and is the cause of one man dying.... I couldn't read further because the lead in was contrived and didn't develop naturally.

I have loved each of the 14 books so far and can't wait for the next book. The action is nonstop and the characters so real you almost believe you are there. The author just knows how to keep you involved and waiting for more.
Will and Jason are just settling in for the winter, but a quiet word with the first resident to welcome the newcomers sets unexpected events in motion!
9ploots that twist and turn. Surprising you even when you expect something will happen, it's rarely how you think. Prefect amount of detail. Can't wait to see what those guys get into next time.
Thank you for another great story in this amazing series!
Thoroughly enjoyed this epic read, great plot and an assortment of evil characters with depth, action a plenty as per usual. Out of all the King and Slater series this one is up at the top of a list that I have enjoyed each and everyone….Thanks Matt 👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
King & Slater are always into it but come a little more human each time. “There ain’t’ the no end to doing right” and they seem to have great timing in doing right.
Another great one about my boys King & Slater boy do they get themselves in a hard time over the smallest of things and now I will have to wait for the next in this series!!!
