Taylor Kennedy moved to Napa, California right after graduation with her family where she attended college taking photography classes and met who she thought was the perfect guy, which lead her to marry very young and very quick which almost cost her her life. Now eight years later she is divorced and her ex is serving time, she has built her life back up and a thriving Photography business but it has defiantly taken some time. Now everything is coming to a halt as she receives a letter telling her that her ex-husband is being released early from prison. She wants to stay and prove that he can no longer control her life like he once did but her parents and best-friend Hailey have talked her into taking a little vacation and visit her best-friend back in her home town in Tennessee. Taylor doesn't understand what everyone thinks a couple of weeks will do to change anything but she will admit it gives her a little more time to think about how she is going to handle seeing her ex-husband again.

Adam Kageen and his sister Hailey were raised by their grandparents. Shortly after graduation his grandfather passed away leaving Adam to grow up fast and take over the family ranch. Determined to keep his family's horse ranch one of the best ones in Tennessee he has decided that getting involved in any kind of relationship is just a bad idea. His life is his grandparent's ranch and all of his time is spent working the ranch, his past experiences with women just proved that they wanted more of his time then he was willing to give. Then everything changes, his sister's best friend has decided to visit and she no longer looks like the teenager he remembered, no now she is a beautiful woman who's amazing green eyes look a little lost. Funny his grandfather warned him once that once you see the woman meant for you it's like lighting it just strikes and there is nothing you will be able to do about it hitting you.

However there was one problem Taylor needed to learn to trust again and realize her scars inside and out only make her more beautiful.

I really liked the idea of this book and was excited to dig in but I’ll admit, this was a tough read for me. There was so much stuff interrupting the flow of the story that I almost DNF and I’ll try explain why.
-The wording felt weird/off.
-We were in the heads of too many characters that it got confusing.
-The story was getting repetitive.
and
-There were no spacers or anything indicating we were jumping into a different scene. One minute the guys are talking in the barn and literally the next sentence were with the girls at a shop trying on clothes. And this happened throughout the whole story. Maybe it’s a formatting issue since I read the paperback version, who knows, but it was bad enough that I kept having to go back to see if I missed something or read something wrong.
Either way the storyline was really good and I did enjoy the family dynamics and the love between the H and h. IMO all this book needed was a really good editor and it would have been perfect.

Anywho,
Happy Reading Everyone🖤

Taylor survived a horrible knife attack by her now ex husband 8 years ago. She has been trying to heal and move on since. She just found out he getting out of prison 2 years early, so she goes to visit her friend in another state to get her head wrapped around it.
Adam is her best friends brother and he falls for Taylor the moment he sees her. Now he just needs to convince her.
These two characters are complex and strong.
You will love the story .

It could use editing but the story itself speaks to a lot of what happens in real life. Having someone you love traumatize you that deeply and you are so afraid to live again. Then she meets him. He has to get past her shell of protection to get her to understand you can love and trust again. I say look past the editing and see the story and characters. After almost eight years she feels everyone believes she cannot protect herself. She thinks the same especially when she looks in the mirror. She had almost died. His grandfather died leaving the ranch to him and he wants to keep it the best. When she appears at his ranch lightening strikes him. He had problems with women in the past. Seeing her makes him rethink it. See if it will work

I one thousand percent loved this book. Taylor and Adam were made for each other! This book is one you will not be able to put down. The writing is absolutely fantastic. The plot was amazing. It will have you on the edge of your seat wondering WHEN???? It will also have you swooning because Adam is the absolute perfect boyfriend. He's supportive, protective, loyal, and caring. He she's Taylor's scars almost lIke a superpower where she sees them as a flaw. I would 10/10 recommend.

Good story, but I didn't like how there was no spaces or markers in paragraphs so show switching from one character to another...

Taylor came back to her home town after she received some devastating news from her past. She went back home and stayed with her bff Hailey. U will also fall in love with Hailey's Grams..she is full of wonderful wisdom =)

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the relationship between Taylor and Adam.

I did like this authors style of writing Taylor's story.. I will have to say it took me a minute to get used to reading As the girls pov, the boys pov and then a third person pov. But after I got use to this style of writing I could read with ease = )

Soooo pick this book up soon and find out if Taylor and Adam get their HAPPY EVER AFTER or will her devastating news find her and destroy her?

DNF at the 25% mark and I'm surprised I lasted that long. The rapidly alternating POV and Terminator speak ("I will go and saddle one the of horses." "Alright, I will be right back.) was very annoying to me. At times the POV switches from Taylor's first person POV to Adam's to Ryan's to Hailey's and back to Taylor's within the same scene. All that head-hopping nearly gave me whiplash.
