Gossip is the life blood of most any small town. How do you combat something like that when gossip is so much more interesting than the truth? Bruce Cartwright was willing to feed the gossip mill if it got him what he wanted. It had been six months since Melanie Jarvis had seen him when he showed up claiming they were married. If that was true, why had he just now come forward? If it was a lie, what was he hoping to gain? But she was just a pawn in his effort to get what he wanted. Rik O’Shea wanted to be part of Melanie’s future. That wouldn’t be possible until they discovered what Bruce was planning. Could they get it figured out before she was kidnapped, or worse?
A typical read by Suzanne Floyd, but one of her best. The story was more interesting and the plot thicker than some of her other books. It’s always a who dun it with a happy ending for the main players… what’s not to love ? We need more happy endings with less gore and less real evil characters… sometimes just enough is enough to have a good story !
So full of life lessons, consequences, family drama, love, and joy! It is a true rollercoaster ride that shows how life can be if you own up to your mistakes, lessons learned throughout life and growing with the challenges life throws your way! Exceptional book!
