She and her very supportive husband of 45 years (whom she agreed to marry on their first date!) enjoy a busy social life and have visited much of the world. After calling Texas home for three decades, they now live in beautiful NW Arkansas.
Arlene grew up on a ranch in south central Oklahoma and still maintains strong ties in that area. She firmly believes that writing has afforded her the best of all possible means of earning a living, and credits a junior high school English teacher with proving to her that her dream of being an author was entirely achievable.
After 4 decades of deadlines and multiple-book contracts (for which she is deeply grateful), she is enjoying the ability to write exactly what she feels led to write on her own schedule.

"Single... With Children " is the story of Laura and Adam.
Adam is a single father struggling to take care of his three young kids (triplets?), but has no experience with them as he was in the military when his wife passed away. Going through nannies like tissues, things change when they meet the waitress Laura at a diner, and as she is fired, hires her as his nanny.
She soon bonds with his kids, and changes the whole household. But as sparks of attraction fly between the two, Laura is reluctant as she hides a deep secret from her past within.
Will she be able to stay with the family she oh, so loves?
Sweet story with a dad who learns to appreciate his family, three adorable kids and a kind and loving heroine. Mild angst, some family drama and few lovemaking scenes.
I wish this had an epilogue, but even without it a good read!

I liked this book. It had all elements to keep me attached inspite of the predictable mystery.
