Super Gremlin
With an eye trained on Tatiana the entire hour and a half, Grim still managed to enjoy his night. She was the highlight. Watching her dance the night away with her girls without a care in the world covered him with an inexplicable calm. Enamored by her beauty and bubbliness, Grim refused to make his exit without getting in her ear. So, along with the second set of Ace of Spades, he sent a birthday note.
He watched as Tatiana’s eyes bulged after the waitress handed it over. She quickly read the contents before shaking her smiling face from one side to the other. On the low, Grim found himself smiling, too, internally. Seeing Tatiana blush was the closest thing to heaven he figured he’d ever get.
Come here, the note read.
When she looked in his direction to confirm, Grim nodded with a wave. Circling his finger, he made it clear that he was inviting her entire posse to his section. If it made her feel comfortable, he didn’t mind.
Turning toward the short haired, thick one that favored her slightly, Grim watched Tatiana whisper in her ear. The two exchanged words briefly before Tatiana led them out of the section and in Grim’s direction. Making room, Grim slid deeper into his booth to welcome the pair. For once, he was thankful for the corner section at Nectar. It gave them the privacy he was certain Tatiana preferred. Frankly, he didn’t give a fxck.
“Tatiana!” she yelled over the music, extending her hand to shake Grim’s.
“German,” Grim returned, opting to give her his government instead of the name the streets had given him. Though well-deserved, he felt as if its weight was unnecessarily heavy for the current conversation.
“German.” Tatiana nodded with a grin. “I would’ve never figured that out.”
“Don’t ever try to figure me out, love. You won’t succeed.” Grim shrugged.

Listen, I’m not a hold em’ down kind of chic. That has never been, nor will it ever be in my repertoire to sit and wait for a man who’s been locked up for any length of time. But, for Grim, I’d hold him down for a 20-year bid! He could get conjugal visits, I’d put my whole income tax check on his books, and I’d give him a baby. Did I mention I don’t have kids and I’m well over 45. Don’t ask me how old I am. Mind your business! Grim was slangin’ BDE throughout this book and I was soppin’ every bit of it up! His I don’t give AF attitude and his rudeness should’ve been a turn off but, it was the opposite. That shyt was unbelievably sexy and quite the turn on. And the way he wooed Tati, had me over here straight blushin’. I didn’t think men like Grim could be romantic. Now, I generally don’t condone jumping from one friend to the other but, Dro brought that on himself. How you gon' be a cheater, a coward, and still expect loyalty from your girl?!!! Sir, you got the game all effed up. I’m not judging Tati one bit. If anybody can get it was a person, it would definitely be Grim. He damn near burned the city down and was catchin’ bodies left and right lookin’ for Dro. Because, what you won’t do is betray Grim and think gon’ get away with that shyt. Dro learned the hard way you don’t come for a man you’re already deathly afraid of. His scary azz go exactly what he deserved. Super Gremlin was, surprisingly, a good read. I didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did but, I absolutely loved me some Grim. He was rough around the edges but, also gentle and caring. That’s an odd combination to find in a man in his line of work. Now, every time I hear the song Super Gremlin, I’ma think of Grim.

I mean, damn, if she likes it, I love it. To each their own. But holy shìt. Grim was exactly what his name was...Grim. He literally gave less than zero shìt. Even the way he started dating Tati...anyways there's not much I can say about this. It was wild. The "G" behavior in this book was loud AF. Tati was a real one for associating herself with Grim, cause girl whet!?
This was my first read by this author, and let me tell you, she's a great storyteller.
Read this wild story.

The Grim Reaper!!!! Whew this man did not come to play!!! He had no soul nor was there any b!t$# present in him. Tati said I need a real street n!gg@! Not one that’s gone piss himself while being robbed at gunpoint🫣! But ma’am you came with all this energy when Grim wanted to get with you but sat comfortably while Dro did you dirty for two years….make it make sense sis! Grim was so soft on Tati…I love when a thug shows their soft side! You can feel the love and sincerity behind their actions! German was everything!!! 🥰🥰🥰 Grim was ready to go to war over Tati! 1 things for sure and two things for certain, don’t play with a man’s heart and Tati was his! Dro…..YOU TRIED IT 🐸 ☕️ 🤦🏽♀️

I love Grim. Even though him and Tati met in a fckd up way there was a connection felt. Grim was all BDE. He was crazy just how I like them..with his pyromaniac self 😏🤣

Grim was everything!!!!!!
Whew Grim was everything!!! He is literally the reason for the stereotype that girls love bad boys, because everything literally everything about him was sexy. This fool didn't have a care in the world after realizing his boy Dro, he had been riding with since childhood had played him while he was in prison. When he got out he had nothing and had to get it out the mud all over again. He didn't trip cuz he knew who he was and everything in him was gone make sure he succeeded just to get his revenge and he did just that.
This man was ruthless and it made sense why punk axx Dro was scared for his life. He patiently plotted for years to slowly disassemble Dro's life. Taking Tatiana was an unplanned blessing. Never in his life had he ever needed someone. Tati's switch to the winning team made sense to me because Dro was an entire fake in the streets. I was heavily side eyeing his boys for giving him a pass. Clearly none of them was bout that life. Grim was in fact that dude and the way he lit up the town with a nonchalant attitude just made him that much more appealing. When he told Dro I'm willing to die about it, referring to Tati, good lawd I mean it was the sexiest scene. Something about him, no everything about him was just...swag on 100. If you can't tell he definitely made book bae status. Do yourself a favor and become a fan of Grim, but not too close cuz he is definitely mine atp.

Audiobook: Yasmine Johnson: We enjoyed Yasmine. Her voice had a honey like tone to it that flowed nicely throughout the story. She did a good job making distinctive voices for each character and her inflection also made it easy to understand what was going on in the story. As audiobook listeners those are things we really look for in our audiobooks. The narration over all was good and we look forward to hearing her in her next book.
German “Grim”: If, “hood troll” was a person it would be Grim. He was loudly disrespectful with his ish lol.
Tatiana: If, “hot girl” was a person it would be Tatiana. And Baby Girl knew she was that girl.
This short read left an impression. We read this book at different times but had so much fun and laughter coming together to talk about it. The way Mercy B wrote this was cool and gave the story a different vibe. Grim had us so tickled. He quickly showed he doesn’t care about nothing except for Tatiana. He woke up every day and choose violence. Tatiana seemed to be the perfect healing balm to his angry soul. This was one of the sister’s first story by Mercy B, so she wasn’t ready for all the craziness to unfold. This won’t be the last story for either sister, however. This short story was a joy to read.

4 ⭐️ Short and Sweet and I ate it up !!! German was a crazy mf who knew what he wanted and was about his s*** . Tatiana wanted a real street man and she got one with Grim 😩😂 . He stood on business at all times !! This was a fun read and I definitely would re read again !!

Whew! Mercy B is becoming one of my favs and I ain’t mad at it AT ALL! GRIM baby! He is the epitome of BDE and compassionate gangsta put together and baby I love it. He knows what he wants and he doesn’t hesitate to go after it. It nothing like a man that lays everyone DOWN to get the respect that he deserves. I enjoyed this story and i loved the way Mercy B weaved this story with the actually song. Talk about inspiration. I love it and I can’t wait for more by the author. Her urban stories just speak to me! I love the period rep. Very realistic. There are a lot of grammatical errors and misplaced words in this story. It didn’t take away from the overall vibes but I hope moving forward the author plans to place a little more TLC on her work.

The only reason I continued to trudge through this story was because I got tired of downloading highly rated books and not rating them when they failed me. I do have a reading goal to reach. But this was not for me. It's disgusting to me that a woman would bed a man knowing nothing about him. And if all the woman's friends are jealous of that, she's traveling in the wrong circle.

Mercy B did her thing!
Mercy B and urban romance go together! Grim is that man! Whew 🥵 he has the right energy! I can’t blame Tati for getting with a real one☝🏽 Excellent use of music, the tone of the book matched the song perfectly. Every time I hear the song Super Gremlin I’m going to think of Grim now. I look forward to reading more from Mercy B.

Short cute story. A lot of culture references. Some grammar issues and wrong words were used. Not Tati freezing up when Grem told her to move but she was turned on when she got robbed and judged Dro lol. There was definitely a twist at the end I wasn’t expecting. I feel like the author totally missed an opportunity to use the super gremlin lyric “switched like a p***y lil b****” in chapter 12 when the author wrote “… he’d switched on him like the shiesty a** n***a he was.” But she followed up with the lyric once he got back in the car. Nice quick read.

Tati thought she had a real street nigga that would protect her until he didn’t. Imagine getting robbed and getting wet because the ni**a is everything you want in a man all while your man pissing on hisself scared.
When German grabbed Tati by the neck in that parking lot I knew it was over for Dro scary ass.

His aura, his thugness, his protective instincts was just so attractive. Tati just couldn’t resist him. Shooo any woman can’t resist this man. He was just that n!gg@. Tati was instantly attracted to this man and I see why. I’m not even faulting her for moving the way she did. As a woman when a man can’t protect you; you lose all respect for him. Grim was soft for Tati also. They was so cute. I want more of these two. Respectfully Dro should’ve stand 10 toes down. But everybody can’t be loyal I guess. I loved this book.
