The twenty-first book in the Mountain Life Western Adventure series from Charles Ray!
When a gang of outlaws have plans to open a brothel in Bear Creek to tempt locals and to sell them opium in the bargain, Caleb is determined to stop them. There are six hoodlums but Caleb has Snuffy, the brown bear he and his wife adopted as a cub, which puts the odds decidedly in his favor. In the shadow of the mountains, Caleb and Snuffy fight to save the town.
I've been writing since my teens. In addition to writing for several newspapers and magazines in the US, Europe, Asia, and Africa, I've written two books on leadership and a number of fiction works. I'm also a published poet, photographer, and artist. I write in several genres, reflecting my broad reading tastes. I spent 20 years in the army, retiring in 1982 and becoming a diplomat. I've worked in about 10 countries and traveled to about 30 more, mining each for material to write about.
Another short story with plenty of action. Dog and Sunffy become the main actors. Follow Caleb s ability to communicate with animals and their ability to understand. A enjoyable tale for all ages.
Another great story of the adventures of Caleb Johnson and his trusted pets. Anyone coming into his neck of the woods with evil on their mind, will meet up with Caleb's pet bear.
