DFN - because just in the first few pages I’m finding a journey that should be done “per se” with experienced teachers, shamanic or yogis. I also find that this kind of conversation, direction, etc can lead the the ‘new age girlie psychosis’ leaded most down a road they aren’t mentally prepared to.
This book has too much content I did not want (fluff). Entire chapters, or large chunks of chapters featuring journal prompts and exercises, suggestions on connecting to the divine, spiritual practices, travel suggestions. (The marketing / jacket for the book should have made it clearer that this book is also supposed to be a guide on how to explore your past lives.)
I'm really only here for the past life regression excerpts. I like how some of the chapters were divided by period. I find this incredibly fascinating:
3: prehistory hunter-gatheres 4: Mesopotamia Babylon & the Persian Empire 5: Egypt 6: Greece & Aegean 7: Europe 8: America's 9: Roman Empire 10: Asia & Australia 11: before the before & Lemuria 12: Atlantis & lost or sunken worlds 13: outer space & other worlds
And I did not mind some the context the book provided for each of these time periods / places (e.g. discussing ideas around Atlantis), but some of this rambled on too long.
It all took away from simply immersing yourself in reading the past life regression excerpts (peppered throughout the chapters in italic quotation paragraphs). And there was lengthy or unnecessary commentary on the past life regression excerpts.
This book could be condensed by 2/3 to be a more concise, cohesive, enjoyable read.
Dr. Shelley Kaehr provides a clearly written guide to understanding past lives in her newest book, Past Lives in Ancient Lands & Other Worlds. Even if you’re new to this subject, you’ll find this guide an easy-to-read and understandable introduction. Her writing is friendly and conversational as if she is personally sharing the information while you’re both sipping cups of tea in a comfortable parlor. Then, using well-conceived exercises, she guides the reader through the history of the world from prehistoric times forward to outer space and other worlds. These exercises teach you to access a guide that will lead you to visit ancient and exciting places. In this journey, you may meet people whose stories may impact your own history. The book is fascinating, well organized, and clearly written. I’m particularly impressed by how Dr. Kaehr weaves through the history of a time and place into a brief yet concise description that, on its own, is powerful enough to make you feel as if you are a visitor in that time and land. For anyone interested in this topic, I doubt if you’ll find a better guide than Dr. Kaehr’s work.
Shelley Kaehr has a writing style that despite containing a plethora of information is very easy to read. She offers up two ways of reading this book. One, as an entertaining and mind-expanding read; or two, as a tool to help you tap into your own past lives through past life regression. I initially read this from cover to cover and now I’m going back and doing the journaling, exercises & regressions. I am following the author’s wise advice to record all the exercises/regression scripts instead of trying to memorize them. It’s a lot of work but very rewarding. I’ve read a number of books on past life regression but never one that addresses so specifically different places and time periods. Part 3 is just mind boggling! I’ve not read information that addresses regressions to consciousness or to different planets & galaxies. Surprising information but then again, not. Part 4 is reviewing your journal entries, putting the information all together and doing a regression. All in all this is an amazing book and well worth reading.
Have you ever been somewhere new and experienced Deja vu? Maybe it was really a memory from a past life. If you can relate to these two sentences, then this book may be for you!
The author takes you through the process of recalling those past life memories, journaling them, and healing past hurts from them. This is a book that could be exactly what you are looking for. However I would advise you to read the warnings in the beginning of the book as there is a difference between a past life memory and illness vs the reality of the here and now.
Explore past life experiences from ancient Egypt, the Roman Empire, Lemuria, Atlantis, planets beyond Earth, Persian, Sparton. The exercises teach you to access a guide that will lead you to visit ancient and exciting places. By recording the exercises/regression scripts it will be amazing to go into those lifetimes. In this journey, you may meet people whose stories may impact your own history. Like the movies of Persian, and Sparton that help me understand or even yet lived in those lifetimes. Though, this is only my opinion.
