Hey Goodreaders! I am the author of this book. Please like this review so it remains prominently displayed for as many people as possible.

I am here to let you know that, unfortunately, there are three content mistakes in the first print edition of this book (the eBook has been corrected):

Pg. 19 / Chapter 1 (this should be fixed on an insert that arrived with the book):

-The first sentence in point four was omitted. It should be "We strive to increase the amount we act in our lives in support of our wellbeing." followed by the sentence that appears in point four.

Pg. 183 / Chapter 11:

-The first “old belief” should be: “Family is everything. If I don’t live up to my family’s expectations, I’ve failed.”

-The second “old belief” should be: “My parents messed me up for life and that is totally their fault. They should have done better and known better. I am trapped in what my family believes about me.”

Pg. 224 / Chapter 15:

-“As I affirmed to myself each day that I have not had effective coping skills, that thought began to pop up when I was anxious, like a reflex.” Should be “As I affirmed to myself each day that I have effective coping skills, that thought began to pop up when I was anxious, like a reflex.” (It is supposed to match the affirmation that is listed above it on this page - "I have effective coping skills.")

I'm so sorry about this, folks. I found these while recording the audiobook. Thank you for taking the time to read Worthy As You Are (or consider reading it)!

Thank you, Llewellyn Worldwide Ltd, for the advance reading copy.

The themes and concepts in this book may sound laborious to many but I am sure unless you try you will never know how useful and how effortless these activities are once they are carried out.

The contents are well planned and to the point.
The writing does not waste words. Three sections of the book that anyone will find something useful and practical from each section but I will suggest you to read in order from the first section to the last.

I did find the second section the best for myself. It is everything. The affirmative talks are the best. They touch most important topics I would say for everyone, for all age groups.

Do pick up this book. It’s really helpful.

Worthy As You Are / Updated Review

I read this book three times because it is really worth it. The first time was when I received an advanced copy in June 2022, and one more time between September/October, then again a chapter or two each week between February and March 2023.

Worthy As You Are is a beautiful compilation of the thoughts and profound insights of our favorite yogi and healer, Durgadas A. Duriel. In Worthy As You Are, Durgadas reflects deeply on everyday issues and the value these have on each of us who wear the same race and face the exact times of occasional peace and occasional uncertainty.

Durgadas is a certified holistic practitioner. Starting from this essential foundation, the book in its entirety is perceived as an extensive, deep, and accessible seminar that leads us to integrate our emotions and experiences in everyday life, to perceive and understand how we are Experiences often influence our actions and reactions, as well as the way we interact with everything around us.

Durgadas covers topics such as body image, self-love, acceptance, communication skills, depression, and anxiety, using a powerful analogy with a gardener of our mind that sows, cultivates, and harvests our emotions.

I had the chance to lend this book to two work colleagues, and they were both fascinated; one of them returned the book to me after only reading a few pages to go out and order his own copy and a second colleague read it entirely and later she orders copies to share with her partner.

The author's approach encourages us to cultivate deep healthy relationships. Still, before running to find a relationship with someone else, the author invites us to cultivate a healthy and fruitful relationship with ourselves, to prepare ourselves for the world, not out of fear and surrounded by shields, but from compassion and open to possibilities, with healing and compassion at every step.

A challenging, thoughtful, and practical book steeped in compassion. I highlighted so many paragraphs and I know this is a book I'll return to repeatedly. The techniques it offers are scientifically sound, simple, memorable, and impactful. I plan to try out many of the affirmations as my brain continues to chew on this book. I particularly appreciated its perspective that mental healthcare is vital and you can't replace it with spirituality or "just thinking positively all the time," but spirituality can and does often help when dealing with mental illness.

Thanks to NetGalley! I immediately was drawn to the title of this book because I’m currently on a self-love journey at 44 years old. I enjoyed how the author gave very detailed information about tools to achieve self-love such as using affirmative language and also various exercises to work with Spirit. I would suggest this book to someone who is familiar with healing terms and language as it was a bit wordy at times.
