Sakuragawa Miyako is a graduate student at Eito University against the wishes of her family. She finds out that the prince of Istria Wilfred (WIll) is studying abroad and is at Eito University. She wants to get close to him only in the hopes of finishing her thesis on his great grandmother, Queen Ritsuko, but does he have other ideas!?

I want to start off saying that yes I was one of those kids. I read smut/mature mangas in middle school. And this was one of them. It's been a few years since I first opened this series and read it- boy has my opinions have changed about this.
All in all, the people around Miyako (besides maybe her best friend) are all manipulative. I think that is what bothers me the most. That she allows everyone around her to pretty much get away with manipulating, talking down to her etc. It is disgusting. To be honest, she deserves better. And Wilfred isn't that.
I guess I'm passed my "being in love with alpha/possessive men" phrase because nothing about this book can redeem it for me in my eyes. I went into this book looking for nostalgia from my youth and got hit with all these others reasons why I will never read this series again.
Miyako is writing her master thesis on Princess Ritsuko - a Japanese girl who married into the Estorian royal family. As it happens, Ritsuko's grandson Prince Wilfred has come to Japan to study abroad. Miyako has her mind set on getting an interview with him to complete her thesis, but Prince Will shows her a different face than the one he wears in public.
In a broad sense, this is your typical royalty falls in love with commoner story, including the fact that Miyako is one of the very few characters who isn't interested in Will being a prince - well, beyond that fact that she wants information of him. The main aspect that's probably different from most of its kind is the fact that Will is said to be a bit of a pervert. To be honest, beyond the fact that he likes large breasts - which is also what made him notice Miyako initially - I wouldn't say there's anything perverted about him. It does make for a more comedic start to this series, though.
Private Prince became much stronger with the later volumes. While the first volumes were more on the comedy side of things and thus quite fun, I struggled to connect to the characters. Miyako is obsessed with her thesis and pretty dense about a lot of other things - Will was definitely the more interesting of the two. Once both had gotten over their pride and admitted their feelings for each other, the plot became more serious and I appreciated how the characters handled all the obstacles thrown in their way.
Rather than being all lovey-dovey, both had their share of doubts and had to give some serious thought in regards to their future. Miyako wanted to continue her studies and felt like this was not possible if she were to remain in a relationship with Will, and of course, he had a lot of things to consider given his title and all. I felt like their relationship developed well and all their worries and solutions were both mature and realistically done. I also started to appreciate Miyako's character a lot more once she wasn't in such denial about her feelings. While I still prefer Will as a character, she did show a lot of backbone in regards to her studies and research.
Private Prince also has a great supporting cast. Miyako's friend Chiri is easily at the top of my list, she makes such a great and supportive friend, has a fleshed-out personality and is an actual functioning part of the plot. For better or for worse, I also liked how Miyako's mother was written. She is far from a pleasant person but she does also show that she loves her daughter and she added some more depth to Miyako's side of the story.
Originally, I only read Private Prince because I enjoyed other of Enjouji's works. It is still not my favourite of hers, but it's a fun story, especially if you enjoy romances with royalty and don't mind Will's quirks about large breasts which seems to be a running joke throughout the series.
Of course they gotta throw in the obligatory arranged marriage plotline. It was awful suspicious that this wasn't a thing earlier in the series. And of course Miyako only decides to grow a backbone when it comes to Will when it's for something he can't actually control. And for something that ends up being super-duper fake. And of course there has to be a pregnancy scare thrown in as well. Oh, the cliches.
The ending was very meh. Of course they got married, but their characters were never resolved. The prince just became more open about secretly being a dick. Miyako just accepted that she won't be able to go to Japan ever again (For what reason? Dunno, but they said she can't, so whatever.). She's still letting Will lead and whatnot, but at least she's happy, I guess.
Well, at least the manga never dragged or felt padded. It stayed true to the story it was trying to tell, which is more than a lot of manga out there.

(stejná recenze u každého dílu) Pěkná a roztomilá kresba. Musím kresbu opravdu vynachválit, protože byla opravdu úžasná, jelikož i u sourozenců, kteří normálně vypadají velmi podobně, byly detaily obličejů tak dobře nakresleny, že od sebe byli odlišní a přesto si zachovali podobnost. Vím, že to nedává smysl. :D Líp to vysvětlit nedokážu. Princ Will a miss Melouny tvořili hrozně roztomiloučký pár. I když se mi nelíbilo, jakým způsobem dostal Will poprvé Miyako do postele. Review (for the whole manga): Didn't really enjoy this manga series. Too cliche, perhaps. Just liked the art. As usual for this mangaka, there are some explicit scenes (nudity / 18sx) in this series as well.
I will review the entire series here, since, all volumes have the same rating. I can't understand that the same author who made My Happy Marriage?! Wrote this manga, the plot makes no sense, the characters are annoying and dimensionless. The frustration was more than the enjoyment.
It ended in a fairly typical way, marriage and a baby. This isn't to say that it wasn't nice, but not an ending that was very moving. By the time you got to the end, you felt like you were finally let off of the continous loop of: inheriting the hotel, not inheriting it getting married, not getting married can have her career, not have her career having a baby, not having a baby
I would also like to point out that condoms aren't fail-safe. You can still get pregnant with using them properly, every single time. It seems that whenever there is a pregnancy scare, it's always related to that one time without protection. Both parties using birth control methods can still conceive if they are not also practicing abscence. But whatever, this is manga we are talking about. There aren't even STDs in mangaland. Anyway- this issue is not just seen here, but in many of the genre. I just get a tad urked by it. You have this opportunity to talk about contraceptives and their effectiveness, but it's lost by just using it on the guy's side as a pregnancy only preventor. I'm done, no more babbling I promise
Series Review: This manga is a very cute and funny series that makes a quick and light read. The plot is not very original and often cliche but entertaining none the less. The characters are likable and often humorous. I recommend this manga for older readers as it has mature moments and those looking for a light read.
Bir はぴまり~Happy Marriage!?~ (1)etmedi gözümde...
I had fun reading this whole manga series, made me laugh a lot. Though a bit disappointed it was a short series (wished there was more) but glad it ended on a happy note:). It was an interesting, enjoyable and a fun read;))))!!
This is a far as I get in this series so this rating is 4 the whole series. Funny, selfish and smut. The prince was such a moron at the beginnig, but what can I say ? when he fell in love? he really fell hard! was a lovely story with hot scenes.
