Without a Past has a deranged killer who believes he is smarter than anyone else. Through his killings, he believes his competence will be recognized and his due place in history will be recognized. Dakota is put under a lot of pressure to find the culprit and she has to use all his psychological knowledge and skills to reach the culprit. A good plot, and a good and well-written text that left me willing to read the following book.

The third book in this series did not disappoint. I love how we get the point of view from both Dakota and the killer. I can't wait to read Without Pity and to see if we find out what happened with her sister and The Watcher.

new author, new to me series, slow burn, flawed heroine, books are best read in order, bingeread while on vacation
