Some wolves attack when their prey is at its weakest. Some charge fiercely. Others…knock softly.
When Greg Slater returned home from college for winter break, his whole world changed. After rescuing his high-school sweetheart, Tina Dibari, and helping sentence his best friend, Rene Dibari, to life in prison, Greg fell in love for the first time.
Fifteen years later, life isn’t easy, but Greg and Tina are working on their marriage. But an old fear has come back to haunt them…
Rene has escaped prison, and he’s thirsty for revenge.
As shocking truths unfold, Greg and Tina face a ripple in their faith and in their home. Tina starts doubting her faith and seeks comfort in a friend with lustful intentions. Meanwhile, Greg struggles to navigate this new unrest in their relationship.
Unfortunately, evil stops for no one, and three very different wolves are after the Slater family.
Will Greg and Tina’s love be enough to keep them together, and—more importantly—will their faith hold true when the wolves come knocking?

When Greg Slater rescues his high school sweetheart, his life changes forever!
Greg Slater and Tina Dibari were high school sweethearts, but she broke up with him when Greg decided to leave. She thought he would spend their last summer before college together, but instead, he was leaving to work for the Idaho Forestry. Of course, Tina knew now that she had made a big mistake. That summer, she started hanging around the party kids, and then Rene Dibari made a play for her. She jumped at the chance but soon found herself pregnant, so obviously, they married. Over time though, Rene changed; now he was into dealing drugs and hurting her. She had had so much going for her, and seeing Greg today made her realize just how much she still loved him.
Greg didn’t intend to look up Tina when he came home to visit the family; running into her and Rene was an accident, so why did he decide it was good to stop by their house tonight. Tina answered the door, and deep down, he knew why; he still loved her. Seeing her now, like this and hearing the hell she was living in! He wanted to bundle her up and take her to her parent's house, but he needed to step back a little. Then Rene came back, accusing them of playing around, then Rene brought out the gun, and the story begins.
Join Greg and Tina as they face trying times in their marriage and her faith…
What did I like? Greg may have been confused regarding Tina, but he never turned his back on her, as many men do. It was refreshing to read about how their faith brought them through something that terrible.

This was a book of romance, suspense and forgiveness. Parts of it I absolutely couldn’t put down. Some of it went into long needless descriptions of things that I skipped through. Making the right decisions in life and following God’s plan for you lead to a happy life while others chose their own path that led to destruction. All in all it was a great book! I’m glad I read it. I will read others by this author.
Great story of revenge that is broken by love and God's grace.
A bitter man blames everyone else for all that is wrong in his life. Even love for a daughter cannot help this man who blames everyone. Christians Greg and Tina are childhood sweethearts who struggle with the grace they know is theirs from God. Fortunately God never gives up and the ending of this story is sweet and totally expressive of the far-reaching effects of God's love for us.
I did enjoy the book. Definitely worth reading. I did think the coach was a little naive when he insisted they had nothing to worry about. I also thought the wife, Tina 's, behavior was over the top. I can't imagine a grown woman being so foolish and easily manipulated. Still made a great story though.
I've read most of Pratt's books. This is not the best. Way TOO much repetition. Too many things repeated numerous times. This book should have been, could easily have been at least 20 per cent shorter.
Great Christian fiction. Interesting story about past failures and forgiveness, about a family sticking together under challenging and heartbreaking circumstances.
I thought this book was great , it took me away from my usual reading. The story line was great and the characters were very well. Written. A book not to be missed.
