This is a beautiful cookbook! I received this book as a giveaway and it has a thorough selection of recipes. The recipes are geared towards people with food sensitivities and intolerances, but many could be adapted and made with “regular” ingredients. Very much so looking forward to trying these recipes out.

Okay, so first things first. We LOVE Siete Foods. My son has a severe anaphylaxis dairy allergy and is also allergic to wheat and soy. Siete is a staple in our house and I was so excited to get their cookbook! My son loves to cook and loves ones that he can eat and make everything safely! (And those can be hard to find and actually have decent food.)

But oh the disappointment. We will not stop buying your products if you included the tortillas, the cookies, etc. But my son wanted to learn to make them at home! We wanted to be able to have tortilla days and Mexican shortbread. Including the recipes would not have stopped us from buying you, just would have been a lovely treat and my 6 year old is devastated that none of these are in here.

There’s a lot of stuff we are excited for. All the recipes look delicious! The savory empanadas (hidden towards the back) are going to be attempted by the 6 year old this week and he’s very excited. (Don’t worry, he has parental supervision.)

But it just is majorly missing some elements we know and love. There’s not a single cookie recipe from a company that makes multiple varieties and is a fan favorite in many houses. No tortillas. No chips! No dairy-free queso.

We love you still Siete but this left us sad. And I think will be a bigger disappointment for those who live in food desserts, are unable to afford your products (I know we can’t go making many of these recipes often because the tortillas alone are so $ but worth it), or those who live in areas or countries that don’t sell Siete. Allergy friendly food and nutritional food should be accessible to all. I know your brand believes in the healing power of food and I find the accessibility and inclusion missing from the book really shocking.

My family loves home cooked meals. Being Haitian, we have our staples, but lately, I have been trying to shake things up a bit. With my kids still being young and very picky eaters, I’ve been trying to introduce new flavors to help expand their little palates.

That’s why I was so excited when Harper Perennial sent me a copy of 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 by The Garza Family. This cookbook is filled with over 100 gluten-free Mexican American dishes, all beautifully photographed and organized into sections for breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, sides, desserts, condiments, and even full menu ideas for parties and other events. 🇲🇽

Last night, I made their 𝑨𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒛 𝑪𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐 recipe, and in under 2 hours, I was able to feed my family of five using simple, affordable ingredients. The recipe was easy to follow, flexible enough for me to add my own little flair, and it still came out absolutely delicious!

I loved that every recipe included a short story or note about its significance: who it came from, why it’s special, and what it means to their family. That extra layer of love and history really shines through in their recipes. 😋

But of course, after cooking, it was time for the real test! Would my three picky eaters actual like it? Well, I’m happy to report that not a single grain of rice was left behind! The girls loved the 𝑨𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒛 𝑪𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐! I can’t wait to try more recipes from 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞! 😃

If you are looking for quick, flavorful, filling, family-friendly meals, you definitely should check out 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. 📖

Thank you so much Harper Perennial for the #gifted copy. 🙏🏾

I want to express my gratitude to @sietefoods and @harperperennial for the #gifted cookbook.

I was absolutely thrilled when this cookbook arrived in the mail! As a huge fan of Siete products, particularly their almond, chickpea, and cassava flour tortillas, I couldn't wait to dive in.

This cookbook is nothing short of extraordinary. It's packed with over 100 delectable Mexican-American recipes, thoughtfully organized into categories such as Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, Sides, Desserts, Condiments, and Drinks. The stunning photography paired with the recipes creates an irresistible allure. Plus, it features five expertly curated menus, perfect for impressing family and friends at your next gathering.

What truly sets this book apart is the beautiful Garza family story peppered throughout, alongside charming family photos. The detailed descriptions of various chilis make it a breeze to identify them during your grocery shopping. Each recipe includes serving sizes, preparation times, and a heartfelt story from the Garza family, adding a personal touch that enriches the cooking experience.

I can't wait to whip up the Arroz con Pollo as my first dish, and I’m especially excited to tackle the Tamales with the step-by-step instructions provided. This cookbook is sure to become my ultimate resource for exceptional Mexican-American cuisine.

Grab your copy in stores now—this is one culinary treasure you won’t want to miss!

I have something different for you today, a cookbook! I adore cookbooks, to cook from, to get inspired by, and to read. This book is a beautiful one, with full page photographs, and I enjoyed both reading and cooking from it. The instructions are clear, detailed, and easy to follow. The recipes are varied and I was not familiar with many of them. I especially liked that there were options for a variety of dietary preferences, gluten free, dairy free, plus vegetarian options. I made several recipes, Salsa Cruda and Mariachis. Both were delicious and are being added to my regularly make list. If you enjoy Mexican-American food or cookbooks that don’t shy away from various dietary preferences I recommend adding this book to your cookbook collection.

Thanks to Harper Perennial for the free gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I just spent some time with The Siete Table by The Garza Family, and I have to say, it’s more than just a cookbook. It feels like an invitation into their home. The recipes are warm, vibrant, and full of the kind of flavors that make you want to gather around a table with people you love.

What I loved most was how personal the book feels. The Garza Family shares little stories and traditions along with the recipes, which made me feel connected to the food in a whole new way. It’s not just about what’s on the plate, but where it comes from and the memories tied to it.

The recipes themselves are approachable and thoughtful, with a mix of classic Mexican-American dishes and healthier twists that still taste amazing. I’ve already tried a couple, and they were both hits in my kitchen.

I absolutely love this cookbook, my brother loves all the siete products so when I saw this one in the store I browsed through it and fell in love. I made the caldo de pollo and my dad said that my abuelita would be proud of me ❤️
I absolutely recommend this book, I use my own tortillas so I’m not really looking for a recipe for that, I just wanted a good gluten-free Mexican cookbook that could help me make recipes since my abuelita isn’t here to show me how to make those foods. I’m looking forward to making more recipes this week!

Really lovely book with stories, not too fussy recipes, and great pics. Would rate higher for me if it were vegan, but they do give instructions to make the majority of the recipes vegan if they otherwise feature meat, eggs, or dairy. Many recipes are vegan by default.

Will check it out from the library again…maybe to make tres leches cake??

Nourishing Mexican-American Recipes From Our Kitchen
The Garza Family
Founders of Siete Family Foods

I am a Mexican food lover. If I had to pick only one ethnicity based food, there’s no doubt that this is it for me.

This isn’t your typical cookbook!
I loved reading the history and the background of the Garza/Campos family - their stories, the evolution and development of the family business, the family background.

The family’s brand, Siete, took a distinct trajectory when one of the sisters (in their family of seven “siete” developed an auto immune disorder and they began researching a more healthful way to address food and nutrition needs.

The cookbook is full of delicious recipes, including options for grain free, even vegan adaptations. It’s got information on peppers, spices, and so many things. I didn’t think about drying my hibiscus flowers 🌺 for tea!

Many thanks to @harperperennial for my copy, I’m truly grateful!

I struggled with what rating and review to give this cookbook. If you have read some of my other reviews, you will know I am not a fan of marketing tools disguised as cookbooks. I was a bit hopeful that this Mexican-American gluten-free cookbook from the family behind Siete Family Foods might buck that trend but alas, there are no recipes at all for any type of tortilla, none whatsoever!

While the Garza family states right from the start they are responsible for the Siete Brand, it should come as no surprise that many recipes call for use of their products. To their credit, they do include "or tortillas of your choice" in the recipes should you not want to use their gluten-free versions.

For what it's worth, this is an okay gluten-free Mexican-American Cookbook, that leans vegan-ish at times and includes a good amount of pictures of finished dishes. Recipes are not complex and the book itself would make a nice gift for less experienced cooks who are seeking gluten-free Mexican-American recipe options.

I settled on a rating of 2.5 stars due to the lack of any tortilla recipes but since this site doesn't permit for half star ratings, I rounded up to 3 because the authors were completely transparent about who they are and what their company makes.
