A silver fox walked into my office, and I knew I was in trouble. Christopher Archer—certified accountant, recently divorced, and totally straight.
He’s come to the rescue farm to clean up our finances, so I have to keep it professional. But it’s obvious from the start that this isn’t just numbers and forms.
What started as a fantasy becomes real. And one night together becomes breakfast in bed. I want to give him everything, my whole heart. But he’s afraid to share me with the world.
CHRISTOPHER:
Love plus marriage doesn’t equal happiness. Ask my ex-wife. For now, I’m by the books, a numbers guy helping a local animal rescue.
I should keep my head down. So why do my eyes keep landing on Derek Mack? We’re not even close to the same age. And he’s a man.
But with him, I’m just Christopher. He’s just Derek, beautiful and sincere. Except no one else knows. I want to be “out”, but I can’t even open the closet door.
This is the third book in the Rescue Farm series. It can be read as a standalone with no cliffhanger.
I love this author and love this series, but do have to admit that initially I was not sure I liked either of the main characters. Derek appeared immature, and Christopher was so far in the closet (and was quite comfortably being there). He knows he has strong feelings for Derek but only wants a relationship that is build on him staying in the closet. It took me a bit to warm up to them as such, but I am glad I stayed with it as I loved watching them realize love was worth fighting for. Both men learned what they could live with and what they were willing to do for love. I loved them in some place and in some places they infuriated me, but in the end a great relationship was born once they were themselves, accepted themselves, adn simply loved one another. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.
Struggling to own your truth is a worthy battle. Derek, is happy Jeff and Matt have found their persons. He is a bit envious and lonely. Christopher, walks into the rescue thinking of looking at a rescue cat. He notices Derek and likes what he sees. Chris joins the team as a financial advisor. He has prior experience with non-profits and hopes to stay ahead of the wolf in spite of Jeff's lack of strategic financial acumen.Christopher, is recently divorced and while not questioning his sexuality, is in the closet and doesn't really plan to leave it. Derek, doesn't like being a dirty little secret. What is he to do? Why is Chris more comfortable in his closet than out in the open? Is his choice, the closet or Derek? Can Chris find the courage to step out of his closet, away and then to Derek? Good choice explaining the dilemma with both POV. Does Chris have good reason for his stance? We, the reader get a chance to feel the emotions generated by the dilemma. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was not GFY trope because Christopher's gay but he was so deep in the closet, buried his attractions for men and married a woman name Mary instead. Poor Mary being married and tied down with a man who didn't true to himself and couldn't accept what he really was and at the same time trapped her in unhappy marriage for some time.
Christopher blame his job instead of himself for the reason why their marriage didn't work and Mary was the one who initiate the divorce, for fuck sake! Thank fuck, Mary had backbone to do the right thing and what Christopher did after his divorce, he had his 1st sexual encounter with a man!
Felt really bad for Mary and thankfully, she now finally found her happy ending with another man.

Another great book from Jason Collins It’s the last book from this series, the last partner of the rescue center to get his boyfriend Derek is loud and proud opposite to Christopher, who’s divorced from a woman and very deep in the closet. This situation doesn’t appeal Derek but he’s so in love that he keeps forgiving Christopher the dates outside their hometown Until Derek starts to push and push. Now what will Christopher do? Is Derek enough to Christopher to come out or will he stay deep in the closet forever? I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book for an honest opinion*This is the 3rd & final book for this series. Jeff is behind in paying bills, Derek tells him we must get someone who can concentrate on handling the books. Christopher is back in town after divorcing his wife. He sees the ad for the rescue days after he was there & decides to interview & gets the job. Derek is the last of the trio to find his person. Is Christopher the one? Who knows, read on. This was a great way to end the series. Well written story filled with plenty of emotion.
Well Served is the third book in the Rescue Farm Series. It was sweet but emotional. Derek is happy that his friends have found their HEA, but he is lonely. In walks Christopher, the men are attracted to each other, But Christopher is having a problem stepping out of the closet. Derek likes Christopher but he doesn't like being the dirty secret. It was sometime painful to watch both men struggle to find a pathway to each other.
The final book in the Rescue Farm series had lots of feels. For me, anxiety and frustration with Christopher were the top emotions. It was exasperating that Derek was willing to go along with Christopher until it felt like he was willing to do anything just to be with him. Christopher finally got his head on straight only because he was afraid of losing Derek. His grand gesture put him in a much better light and the ending was satisfying.
Derek is jealous of his friends' happiness because he wants a partner of his own. Christopher is taken by Derek, but he is not ready to admit to others, much less himself, that he likes men so soon after his divorce from his wife. Derek tries to push him but may push him away.
No one likes to be kept a secret but it can be so hard to step out of you comfort zone. I loved the dance of Christopher with Derek as they figure themselves out separately and together. I love Jason Collins books and this is an excellent ending to this sweet rescuing series. ***ARC review***
Another good story in this series. In this one, Christopher struggled to come out, while Derek didn't want to be a secret... I think the author did good job with it. Loved the ending.
