**This book was previously published under the book A Very Naughty MC Christmas Anthology, although it does have some new content. **
As a member of the Steel Vipers, Train is known as the quiet one. He rarely speaks up. He does what is expected. He supports his brothers. He is the one that others counted on.
So, when his buddy and club brother, Ghost, is wounded and needs help, Train is the first to volunteer.
The job was supposed to be easy. Find Drew and bring him back to Florida. Keep him under club protection long enough to tell them what the fuck was going on.
There is just one small problem. The club has no idea who Drew is or what he looks like.
All they have is Drew’s name and an address that leads to a small strip joint in North Carolina.
Okay, that might be a big problem. Still, Train accepts his mission and prepares to see it through. But nothing could prepare him for the sexy, raven haired beauty he finds dancing on the stage.
With every sway of her hips, he forgets he’s here to help his brother. He doesn’t care about anything else.
I'm just a simple small town country girl, haunted by Alpha Men who talk in my head 24 hours a day.
I knew I wanted to write when it became clear I couldn't be happy with just viewing other people's stories. I always wanted to rewrite them.
Like why did Jack have to die? Why couldn't Rose move her butt over? Because that was a huge piece of wood she was on, people.
Happy Endings should be fought for, but they should always happen. Mine might take some curves and twists, but they eventually get there.
Having published over fifty stories, it always feels surreal that this is my life. Hitting USA Today had me crying for days, but nothing is more special than hearing from readers that they loved one of my books.
Unwilling Protector is Train and Drew's tale. It is an instant attraction with twists, turns, action and oh yes, a whole lot of sizzling chemistry. Train is on a mission to bring home his injured brother Ghost, find the person responsible for his injuries and figure out who Drew is in the puzzle. What he isn't counting on is running into a sassy, smart spitfire of a dancer that gives him more than a run for his money! Great addition to the Steel Vipers MC. ~~Michele McMullen ~~
This is the fifth book in this fascinating series and is Train and Crew's journey. This is a well written flawless story which had me totally intrigued and hooked throughout. This story is filled with emotions, suspense, humour, intrigue, witty banter, and love which all leads to a riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I am always a huge fan of this author but I especially love her MC books! I loved the brotherhood and loyalty of the MC and it was good to see how life has been for Marcum and Toi. Train and Drew are fantastic together! The chemistry between these two was HOT!!!!
In Jordan Marie’s Unwilling Protector, Train, while searching for his brother Ghost, meets his lady Drew and instant love. She’s a sassy dancer that takes no BS and their attraction is explosive. Jordan is a brilliant writer and I love everything she has written. You will love this novella!
4 1/2 Stars! Insta-attraction and love in an Outlaw MC
Part of two series: Steel Vipers Outlaw MC and the Filthy Florida Alpha series. While it is not necessary to have read the previous stories to understand this story, I HIGHLY recommend it. There are multiple reoccurring characters, backstories that can’t be adequately explained and overarching themes.
⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including: adult language; derogatory terms; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, restraints, spanking for punishment and pleasure, sensory deprivation, multiple partners, etc.; violence stereotypical of the genre such as death, murder, attempted murder, fighting, assault, domestic violence, kidnapping, abduction, torture, attempted rape, betrayal and the physical abuse of a female.
There are several grammatical issues in this novella, but none were difficult to interpret. These mainly consisted of incorrect word tense / choice (i.e. lasts vs. lashes, trembling vs. tremble), missing punctuation, missing words and extra inserted words. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
I think this could have been a full length story versus a novella. There is good dialogue, strong chemistry, with some mystery, as I have come to expect with any Jordan Marie story. I just wanted more … I guess I am just a greedy reader!
In this story, Ghost had asked for some time away from the MC to get his head on straight after what went down with Marcum (leader of the Steel Viper MC) and Toi (their HEA is the previous story in the series). Marcum hadn’t heard anything from him in over a week so he asked Hound to hunt him down and make sure he was alright. He just received a call that Hound had found Ghost and he was in a hospital in North Carolina.
Train and Ride, along with a prospect set out right away to NC. They found Ghost had been shot in the back and had been placed in a medically induced coma. Hound asked that they meet him at a strip club not too far away. Train and Ride went there and found out that Ghost had a note with that address and the name Drew written on it.
As Train is looking around, his attention is immediately drawn to one of the dancers on a table up front. She is stunning with raven black curls and legs for days. Hound tells them that he has been hanging around for several days, but so far, he hasn’t been able to find a Drew anywhere.
Train is only partially listening as the dancer finishes and goes into the back. She never returns, so Train goes to the bartender to see if he can get her name. He turns Train down flat, so he goes outside to watch a side door. Within a few minutes she comes out and she looks even better. He could be in trouble with this woman, especially when she gives him some sass and pulls a knife … Yep, definite trouble and he thinks he wants to keep her …
This was simply an alright novella if you're in the mood for whiplash induced instalust that becomes you're mine forever vibes.
It was easy to follow but really had absolutely no substance. I did like the heroine Drew but nothing was special or unique about Train/Jack. His instant attraction to Drew was all superficial. And while Drew didn't fall in line with his caveman claim it wasn't because she didn't feel a pull of attraction towards him, sadly. It was more to do with the weak plot about her brother Ghost being injured and her stalker.
I usually love these types of mindless silly books with hardly any plot where you can turn your brain off for a bit but while some bits were funny I just couldn't embrace that these two were committed to forever.
Specifically, if the author had atleast had Drew throw a "hold up" at Jack when they finally went to have sex I would have felt much better. Because as expected they don't use protection and in that exact moment Jack is spouting off about marrying her and Drew agreeing and saying she wanted to have his babies.
And yes, usually I can enjoy that sort of nonsense for what it is BUT Drew felt disappointed in Jack when her brother got angry at Jack over him claiming his sister and asked if he told Drew how he earned that name in the first place. Train? Yeah, exactly what you'd think. And Drew was disappointed and sorta hurt by that but it's just shrugged off. And when they go to have sex for the first time literally maybe an hour or two later she doesn't even stall him to ask if he's clean atleast?! Yikes. That'd been the perfect time to have Jack say he'd been celibate for a while because he'd been waiting for her. After all, he told the reader he'd been looking to find the right woman to lock down for a while now anyway... Yeah, missed opportunity and definitely ruined the mood.
I might check out another book or two by this author regardless of this first impression.
This author is almost always a must read for me. I think only one or two of her countless books have ever gotten a bad review for me. This one was also one of the good ones. I really loved Drew. She was a really neat character, and I loved her bond with ghost.
I read a lot of MC books and I do know about club bunnies and the culture and everything else like that what I’m not OK with is people just being OK with it. I believe in people having the right to do whatever they want to have as many partners as they want, etc., and doing it safely, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t pause for a second when you find out.
The fact that she learned about how he got his name, Train, and then just immediately not caring just gave me a lot of ick factor. It just didn’t seem right and I think she really should’ve fought it more but it was just a lot of BBS. It would’ve been a five star book no question if she wouldn’t have just immediately given into him and maybe put up a little bit of a fight. I’ve had my fair share of partners, but if I’ve met someone who was named after the fact that he went through countless women back to back to back even I would hesitate and that’s where the problem lies for me in this book. There’s absolutely no hesitation. It needed another at least 10 or 15 pages of her fighting it because he’s kind of icky. Otherwise, though the book was good.
As a follower of Jordan Marie was beyond thrilled to be offered an ARC opportunity to review this story considering it was this genre that I discovered her amazing storytelling. If like me you fell in love with the characters of Dragon & Skull and their brothers then can guarantee Train you won't want to miss.
In "Unwilling Protector" Train meets Drew while in search of his missing brother Ghost. In the course of his investigation, he crosses paths with Drew whom he has an immediate attraction. However, she can't allow him to get close as she currently has her own drama hiding out from an ex who won't let her go. Someone close to her has already been hurt and she cannot risk anyone else. When Train discovers a link to Drew and makes assumptions he is torn, but things are not always what they appear to be. As Drew & Train's story unfolds I was so engaged that read the novella in one sitting.
Would love to see more of Ghost & Millie who appeared here, there is something between them that deserves further exploring please Jordan Marie 😍
For fans who enjoy reading in the MC world like me can guarantee you’ll fall for Train & Drew.
Filthy Florida Alpha's - Steel Vipers MC - Book 5 - Unwilling Protector - Jordan Marie
The fifth book in the Filthy Florida Alpha's series and we are back with members of the Steel Vipers MC and its great to see the guys back together. The club has changed not all the originals are around so when Ghost is injured when he is supposed to be on vacation, Marcum sends some of the guys to find out what has happened. Train is the main club brother this story is about and he is so sexy and so much fun. One look at his woman Drew and he is hooked. Drew bewitches him without even trying but she has secrets and she definitely keeps Train on his toes. She feels guilty about Ghost getting hurt, the risk to the club, she cares about them all and it just adds to her beauty. Their chemistry is electric and instant you can't help but want to see what happens next. Another great addition to a great series that just keeps you reading one book after another. I just wish this one was a bit longer, I didn't want it to end it was so good. One click it now it's worth it without doubt. Happy Reading. 5 out of 5 stars.
If you've been considering reading Marie's Filthy Florida Alphas series, Unwilling Protector is the perfect novella to persuade you to do so.
Train travels to North Carolina in order to figure out what caused one of his brothers to end up in the hospital. He's an over-the-top alpha through and through, and there's nothing stopping him from claiming Drew once he encounters her.
Drew was a BA in her own right, ready and eager to defend herself by any means necessary, and I fell in love with her right away. I can't tell you how many times I laughed and giggled at things she said as she was sassy and clever.
Marie's brilliance as a writer is on display once again, as her words will captivate you from beginning to end, whether it's a novella or a full-length novel. She has a thing for spunky women with sharp wit and sarcasm, as well as over-the-top, growly men that can nevertheless make you swoon.
Protector is an insta-novella with an enthralling blend of addictive chemistry, a feisty heroine, laugh-out-loud funny banter, suspenseful intrigue, and red-hot steam.
Unwilling Protector is book 5 in the already awesome series Steel Vipers MC written by the talented and amazing author Jordan Marie. From the author; This book was previously published under the book A Very Naughty MC Christmas Anthology, although it does have some new content. I've read almost all of Jordan Marie book for years but my favorites are her MC books & Ida Sue Lucas families stories. This is Train and Drew and WOW!!The chemistry between Train and Drew was off the charts! Another fantastic addition to the series, impressive and fast pace but full of love, brotherhood, funny banter with a bit of intrigue and suspense. A must read!! I hope for Ghost's book next!!!
This is why these two characters are my favorites out of all the books. They've been through so much, but the love they have for each other is a thousand percent the best; you can feel their love radiated from each other, and it shows. I'm a firm believer in love; it may not work for everyone, and this book may be fiction, but it all it does is make me believe in love again. Their story was truly a masterpiece written; these authors did not disappoint at all phenomenal read.
I've been a fan of Jordan Marie for years and absolutely love her MC books. This is the story of Train and his Midnight. Sent to North Carolina to find out why their brother, Ghost, was in the hospital the last thing Jack thought he would find was the perfect woman for him. From the start the chemistry between Train and Midnight was off the charts! I loved that he didn't give up when Midnight tried pushing him away. Midnight was in trouble but was not a weak woman.
I hope we get to see more of this couple, hopefully in Ghost's book.
Train and ‘Cilla’ were made for each other and this novella highlights just how right they are together. He is knocked for six when he sees her but when he gets to know her he finds himself totally smitten. Drew is more cautious but likes what comes in the big package called, Train! I loved her sassy, strong personality and she needed it to go up against Train. 😄 He knows she’ll keep him on his toes and vice versa. A true love story with jingle bells. 🔔 This is one of the best novellas I’ve ever read, it has intrigue, suspense, humour and a fabulous romance.
Part of two series: Steel Vipers Outlaw MC and the Filthy Florida Alpha series. This is the story of Train and his Midnight aka Drew. Train travels to North Carolina in order to figure out what caused one of his brothers to end up in the hospital. What he isn't counting on is running into a sassy, smart spitfire of a dancer that gives him more than a run for his money! Filled with instant connection, emotions, suspense, humour and love. While it is not necessary to have read the previous stories to understand this story, I reccomend it to get a better idea of what is going on.
It is with a heavy heart that I can’t give this book 5 stars. Like most I patiently wait for a book from Jordan and am always so excited when one comes out, however, not so much with this one. I honestly had to go back and reread Max and Marcum’s books just to see who the hell Train was. Don’t even get me started on the actually story. It started on a blind storyline, absolutely no kind of explanation, was anticlimactic at best and really just lacked everything a Jordan Marie book is. Maybe Ghost’s story will be better.
Now this author writes some of the best MC stories out there, and this one was fantastic.
Train and Drew's story was a scorching hott, witty, sweet and sexy little treat. Train was pure delicious Alpha male and Drew was a sassy little firecracker, they were explosive together....loved them.
I loved the little cameos from some familiar favourites too.
Train and Drew’s story is absolutely amazing!! It’s a sexy and crazy ride and was everything I expected and more. I loved we got to hang out with Marcum, Toi and of course Ghost. The whole MC is awesome!!
Jordan Marie completely blows you away with this one. You will also love the new epilogue and the beginning to Ghosts story. Which I’m counting the days for that one.
This is another book in the wonder MC series of Jordan. I love when we get to see other loved characters appear in subsequent books. This story is about Train and Drew. Like many of Jordan's female characters, Drew is strong willed and strong minded, and Train had no idea what hit him. Drew hiding her true identity to protect those she loves. Train showing how he protects his woman. Definitely recommend this book, and all Jordan's MC series.
Marie has a style and that is hot, dangerous alpha men and their equally sassy, no holds barred women they fall for. Train and Drew are just that and I love the fact these women don’t make it easy for their guys. Of course they eventually fall for their “charms” but Drew runs circles around Train before that can happen. It all boils down to who you can and are willing to trust. Let’s just hope it doesn’t burn them in the end.
I’ve loved all the stories in the Steel Vipers MC and this one is no different. Train is a super hot, sexy alpha male biker. Drew is sassy stripper who’s gotten into some trouble. Love there back forth and how when Train see’s her he knows she’s gonna be his. It’s a quick paced read and insta lovey. Definitely recommend the series. I can’t wait for Ghost’s story. Hopefully he’ll get his head out of his butt and Millie will give him a run for his money.
Unwilling Protector by Jordan Marie is just an amazingly sweet story! Drew is just full of sass and such an independent and protective bada$$! I thought Train was hilarious! He’s also very sweet and protective and I loved the chemistry between them right from the get go! Very enjoyable read! Jordan is a master at MC stories! I highly recommend!
Holy crap this was a fantastic book. It was originally part of a Christmas Anthology! I absolutely loved Train and Drew!! He saw her and just knew. They had an immediate instant connection. Now can I get Ghosts book next? My only complaint was i wanted more!!! Lol. You can’t go wrong with this book.
Jordan Marie writes the best heroines and Drew(h) was definitely an awesome heroine. I liked how she was sweet but also strong. Loved her sense of humor. Train(H) was a great hero and I liked how he knew Drew was it for him. This was a great short story and I definitely want to read Drew’s brother Ghost story, so hoping she writes his story soon.
I love that instant connection between Train and Midnight. And can we just take a moment to appreciate everything MARCUMMMM! Jordan NEVER disappoints and I'm here for it ALL. One click this beauty I promise you won't regret it.
An engaging story of love in an instant between two likable characters. The attraction was instantaneous. The chemistry palpable. The scenes steamy. Add in the drama and mystery and you have a very enjoyable read.
It's a quick read interspersed with Insta love and sex scenes. I think, if it have been extended, it could have been a five-star. Because it's short it was harder to get a grip on the main characters and motivations. Ghost seems an interesting character though.
Drew carried a lot of guilt on her shoulders. But when push came to shove, she handled her ex like a boss. Train fell in love at first sight, and he wouldn’t let Drew think they didn’t have a future. Very persistent
I love this story!!!! Train is fantastic and Drew is great! I love that's its short enough to read in one sitting, and the preview to ghosts book is AMAZING!!!
