This can be read as a standalone, but you will understand the characters more if you read the series. It makes you identify with the characters more.
To find out what the story is about read the blurb above the comments.
When the hero feels he must visit a family he remembered from a mission to make sure they are doing ok, he doesn't know what he's in for. When he first wanted to visit the family, he wasn't in the US. Then when he got back, they had moved and he's been too busy to go see them, but now this mission allowed him to be close enough and check on them. Only to find the person's widow and child are in need and he's there and can help them, while getting to know them better.
The heroine has a busy life and its always a struggle since her life was turned upside down. She's had to sell everything to get as much of her ex's debts paid, but it wasn't enough. She's moved back home to help her brothers while getting a degree so her and her daughter can have a better life. However, things around the place keep going wrong. Now, the person who knew about her ex is here to spend some time and she's trying to forget about that and move on but he's not letting her do that either. If he helps them out, she will feel like a charity case and she's had enough of that.
Can the come to an agreement? Will they act upon the attraction they feel for one another? Are the accidents that have been happening accidents?
I like the plot, while using an older story line, but kept throwing new little problems which were different and made you want to keep reading. I'm not that taken by the heroine's brothers and at times they annoyed me. The hero and heroine did seem to have some chemistry but I think the hero really fell for the little girl in the story than the mother.
The plot was interesting like I said above. Good work from the author.
Four solid stars for this "Wingmen warriors" story. Two good characters, bot Bo and Paige are strong, hurt by life but ready to go on and there is a sweet but hurt too little girl, scared by her dad's death and prone to be ill with a different malaise every day.
This book is lacking of action but plenty of sweet scenes!
Very sexy and short book. I really do love my men in uniform romances. The mystery in the book was enough to keep the plot flowing and the raw sexual tension between the two main characters was close to snapping most of the book. Great lunch break escape.
