Anne McAllister has written nearly 70 romance novels for Tule Publishing and Harlequin Books.

She has won two RITA awards from the Romance Writers of America — for COWBOY PRIDE and THE STARDUST COWBOY — and has had nine other books which were RITA finalists.

Her books have also been finalists for the National Readers’ Choice Award. She was named Midwest Fiction Writers “Writer of the Year” and also received Romantic Times’ Career Achievement Award as “Series Author of the Year.”

It’s the relationships that interest her most and the question about “where do you get your ideas?” has always astonished her as she has more ideas than she knows what to do with!

I love Jace and Celie since the previous book in the series and I was looking forward to their happily ever after.

The first half of the book was very good. Jace had been Celie’s former fiancé’s best friend and was partially to blame for her being jilted.

Their bantering was fun and it was sweet to see Jace’s efforts to make up for the past. He ended up going on a cruise ship after her and dutifully ate his humble pie.

Towards the end, the book dragged a little and I was not convinced she still had a reason not to marry him.

Another sweet read in this beloved series.

Argumento:

Anne McAllister creates fantastic male characters and in A Cowboy’s Pursuit there are two that shine out. Firstly, there’s 90 year old Artie Gilliam, who owns the hardware store in Elmer, Montana and who is a bit of a matchmaker. Former rodeo cowboy Jace Tucker is in Artie’s sights, starting off with helping Artie in his hardware store, where Celie O’Meara is also helping out. Celie and Jace have had a bit of a hate relationship for the past ten years after Jace had to tell Celie the day before her wedding that her fiancé wasn’t going to show up. I loved the way Artie stage-managed Jace and Celie and not-so-gently nudged Jace into going after her when she decided to take a job on a cruise ship. Jace is all cowboy from his boots to his hat and boy, is he a fish out of water when he arrives on board! Celie is easy to love too. She’s had a crush on Jace for years, even though she hates him for the wedding debacle and isn’t too keen on the way he teses her. I loved her surprise at finding Jace on board during the ship’s safety briefing. This book takes you on a wonderful emotional journey with scenes that wil make you swoon and others where you’d like to hit one or the other over the head to knock some sense into them. It has been an absolute pleasure to read.

This was a quick fun read. You have to love a man who will go above and beyond to chase down a woman. And that’s what happens in the story. Jace Tucker and Celie O’Meara have a long history. Jace had to deliver some information that was unpleasant for Celie. So even though he was just the bearer of bad news, he somehow got blamed for the whole incident. But he’s bound and determined to have Celie see him for the man that he is.
Celie just needs to get out of town and away from Jace. She does this by taking a job on a cruise ship. Well, Jace says that’s not gonna happen because it’s a singles cruise ship and he’s definitely out to change Celia‘s mind about him.
Jace is all cowboy, so he stands out quite a bit getting on this cruise ship and his cowboy hats, blue jeans and boots.

It’s a fun, loving story and I think you’ll definitely enjoy it.

I received this ARC in return for my honest review.

A Cowboys Pursuit by Anne McAllister is a re-release book now listed as part of the Cowboy, Come Home Series. Having not read the book when first published years ago I cannot say if it has been revised recently.

Celie O’Meara and Jace Tucker have a long history where Jace is blamed for something that wasn’t his fault. He was the man caught in the middle. Celie left town but now is back. I guess I like Jace more than Celia who seemed to believe that one should shoot the messenger. Not exactly fair to Jace now. An interesting romance as Jace and Celie work through their differences, come to an agreement and believe it or not fall in love. Well, Jace may have been halfway there years ago.

A Cowboy's Pursuit by Anne McAllister
Story starts with Celie and she walks away from her wedding to Jace. There are lots of rumors around and misconceptions...
Story also follows Jace who is a rancher working on the family ranch. He's not gotten over Celie and he aims to just find her and bring her back home.
She works on a cruise ship where single mingle to find their partner for life. He does track her down and there are some twists to turns to this story.
Didn't think I'd enjoy this but it's a really great read. Can't wait to read more from the author.
Received this review copy from Tule Publishing and this is my honest opinion.

I voluntarily read a advanced reader’s copy of this book for an honest opinion.

A Cowboy's Pursuit by Anne McAllister, book five in the Cowboy, Come Home series. The story might have taken me awhile to grab me but once it did I really enjoyed the characters, dialogue and settings. I've enjoyed past books in this series and books I've reading by Anne McAllister I would totally recommend anything written by the author.

Jace Tucker and Celie O’Meara story was an interesting read. I enjoy their story from start to finish. Celie leaves to put some space between her and Jace. Jace isn't letting her go that easily. Will he be able to win her heart? I suggest you pick up this book and find out. Great read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
