Die Französische Revolution

Rate this book

The exposition is short, and, to my opinion, requires a substantial foreknowledge. Surely, a book of such a small format about an event of the dimensions that large is forced to avoid any detailed descriptions. But, for instance, a bit more detail on Robespierre, rather then introducing him already as the leader of Jacobins in 1791, would have been very welcome. It is understandable when a professor who worked in some field for decades takes many things for granted for everyone, but I always supposed that the "Wissen"-Series is aimed on eager to learn "analphabets" rather than on students revisiting their lessons.
