Myth Made Fun

What a wonderful collection of Greek and Norse mythology! Written in a conversational tone, the book uncovers the myths and gods of both cultures with a fresh perspective that blows the dust off other mythical tomes. I especially liked the chapter about Greek goddesses entitled "Girl Power" which deconstructs Athena, Artemis, and Aphrodite, "the trifecta of female deities" as the author refers to them. I also enjoyed the chapter about Everyman Sven who the author creates to depict the daily life of a traditional Viking for his readers, so that they might better understand the influence of the Norse gods upon ordinary folk. It is these kind of approaches that make myth fun.
