A wonderful collection of nonfiction journalism and personal essay comics from The Nib, as always. I especially enjoyed Maki Naro's "Ode To My Rice Cooker", "Fatteh, My Father and Me" by Yazan al-Saadi and Ghadi Ghosn and "The Industry's Backbone" by Gerardo Alba and Ally Shwed. I was also very happy to contribute 6 watercolor food illustrations to this issue!

As always, a nice collection of reporting with cartoons. It always feel less like comics and more like illustrated text, but that's how the non fiction cartoons have started to become. Maybe they have always been that way. But that's a quibble. The stories about food and the issues of access are fascinating, but kind of sad and frustrating. There were some positive stories, but the bulk were skewed to what is not so hot. I understand that's what's happening, but I would have liked a tiny bit more of a balance.

Me encanta!

Yes, I am reading these late, but I really do enjoy the comics that make up The Nib. So much to learn and appreciate. This issue is no exception.
