Roman's Heart wasn't a book I will read again and again but it was a fairly good amnesia suspense story. Roman Justice as we know from the previous book is ex-military, runs a PI business and adores his niece. His brother Royal sends him for some relaxation to a rustic cabin where he runs into a woman who is clearly injured, scared and has lost her memory. Since there is loads of snow they are stranded with each other and Roman grudgingly takes care of her at first and coins the name Daisy on her, based on her underwear.
"Daisy" came to in a tree, with a parachute and millions of rupees with her. She has no clue who she is, is scared she is a criminal and is stranded with a man she doesn't know. Both of them fall for each other fairly quickly but Roman tries to stop it knowing that Daisy could be reacting to only knowing him and may have someone at home.
Soon we find out Daisy is Holly, daughter of a rich man and she was supposedly eloping. Roman does let her go, with her father but then decides to believe in the woman he fell for and go back.
The suspense plot is fairly basic, the man she was dating was a crook, she over-hears something and he tries to kill her but she survives so he cooks up a lie about their eloping as he still wants his money.
The book was a nice enough read. Off to read the 3rd book.
Second book in the Justice Way series. I liked the first half of the book where she hides in the hero's cabin and they are falling in love even though they don't know who she is better than the second half where they are trying to trap the bad guy into confessing. The relationship between the hero and heroine is pretty strong and is the best part of the book. Well written as always from Ms. Sala.
These older titles by this author are real treasures. This trilogy of the Justice brothers are among my all time favorites. They have it all. Mystery, intrigue and a memorable love story that you will remember long after you've closed the book. Do yourself a favor and read the other books in the series... Ryder's Wife and Royal's Daughter.
This was not as good as the first book in the series Ryder’s wife. That story the bad guy was not revealed until about 60% through. This story I knew who the bad guy was and who Daisy or holly was by 25%.
THERE MAY BE SPOILERS
So the story started out great with a woman hanging from a tree by a parachute with a million dollars in a duffel bag at her feet. The possibilities are endless on who she is and what she did to get the money. Unfortunately the author gave everything away by 25% of the story. It took everything I had to want to keep reading and unfortunately the story was not worth reading to the end. So by 25% you know Daisy is really Holly from a wealthy family and she was on the plane by force. You also know the bad guy was going to kill her but his brother saved her life by sending her out of the plane in a parachute with the money. The rest of the story I hate to say was filler. I read the whole thing but it just wasn’t that interesting. Holly’s dad brings the bad guys into his home to recuperate because Holly has no memory of what they did. The story was just blahhhh. I didn’t care about what happened.
The story had bad punctuation just like the first. Some sentences had to be reworked in my head since they did not make sense. I expect this from self published books but this was not one of those. The author needs to hire someone better to put her books into digital form. The other book Ryder’s wife was the same way. The story received three stars because the idea behind the story was good. If she had kept the suspense longer this would have been a great story. She is a good writer just this story had everything laid out to soon. There was nothing to make a person want to keep reading.
2nd book in series. Its Roman Justice's turn to find his woman. He takes a trip up to their cabin by Denver to get some much needed relaxation. As he's sleeping in bed the first night he wakes to a sound that shouldn't be there. He finds Holly coming out from under his bed. Earlier she found herself stuck in a tall pine tree in a parachute. She was injured and couldn't remember what happened. She was able to get down although it was a scary situation. She finds a duffle bag of money at the bottom of the tree. She's hurt cold and frighten. she's looking for shelter when she runs into Roman's cabin . The door is unlocked and she goes in to warm up. Roman is angry to find Holly there. He's not sure he believes her story but they get snowed in for days. As time goes by they learn more about each other (what little Holly can remember) and start having feelings for each other. When Roman finds out about the airplane crash at the same time as she appeared he figures she was on that plane. She finally tells Roman about the bag of money. She doesn't know if she's a criminal or what. He suspicious for a minute but then thinks she is no way a criminal. They find out who she is and contact he father that is in Denver searching for her. The two men that stole the money survived the crash and at in the hospital. As she gets her memory back flashes at a time she learns the Gordon stole the money and killed the person he stole it from. His brother Billy was with him but not involved with the murder. He's the one that tries to save Holly by putting her in the parachute with the money to get away from Gordon. This story is the journey to get her memory back and solve the mystery of the money. As they do this they fall in love but Roman is afraid to open his heart up to a woman again in his life.
Roman is the hard-hearted youngest brother, afraid to open up to a woman. He's had his heart broken and never wants to lose another woman he loves. When Daisy falls into his lap from the sky, he doesn't know how to deal with the feelings she arouses in him. When he finds out what she has in her bag, he is even more surprised and leery of her.
A little research, however, leads to the lady's real identity, and a mystery. When Roman escorts her home, the situation becomes even weirder. The Brothers Justice (Royal and Ryder) ride to the rescue and Roman has found the one person, small and mighty, who can get over the wall he has built around himself.
Second book in The Justice Way trilogy, Roman's story-it involves a cabin in the mountains, an amnesiac parachuting in with a million dollars and a snowstorm. Then it is all put together in a way that only Sharon Sala can write.
A well written trilogy by and Sala. I was very glad to read all three books. This is the second and I think the relationship between the hero and heroine was very strong.
I thought it was great. She lost her memory and could not remember much if anything. As things go go on it gets better and better dose she regain her memory well read the book and you will see how everything goes down.
This is the second book in the trilogy "the Justice Way". Our hero is a private eye whose heart has been trashed enough, he no longer trusts.
The heroine with amnesia plot has been done by others, but seldom this well. She never gives up, and isn't afraid put her heart out there in spite of having no memory of her past.
We've got two villains, a pair of brothers with differing degrees of evil. I wanted a happier ending for the nicer one.
The scenes in the story unroll in a way that keeps one turning pages no matter what household distractions call. I admire the author's skill.
Aside from all the "Oh no!", "Oh Roman!", "Oh my!", "Oh yes!", "Oh mercy!", "Oh heavens!" nonsense... it was a neat little story. Absolutely no mystery involved and the villain is entirely inept - so this is par for the course for Sharon Sala's Silhouette books.
