A one-off in a club bathroom should have been it. A good time and amazing memories. To say Gem was shocked to see the stud show up at the coffee shop where he worked was an understatement. Now Grey has set his sights on Gem, and Gem wasn’t sure what to think. His boyfriend of two years dumped him for a shinier new model, and Gem was still licking his wounds, but when he discovered that things are not what they seem in Willow Point, Gem found himself running right into Grey’s strong, nonhuman arms.
Grey had been kicking himself for a week for not getting his mate’s name or phone number. He hadn’t realized Gem was his until after the human had hauled it out of the bathroom of The Manacle and split before Grey could find him. Now Gem was in his town, right under Grey’s nose the entire time, and there was a lethal threat after him.
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
I haven't read a Lynn Hagen book since 2015 and that plagiarism drama. I sort of got burned out on the MM Siren authors/series. This book is exactly how I remember her stuff, style and plot wise. While not horrible, it's not awesome either. It was okay? A quick read. I get the feeling, because it's part of the overarching universe she created, I probably missed a bunch of stuff since I stopped reading. I was able to get by okay though. Hopefully plot from other books isn't going to be vital to this series, because I don't plan on going back and filling in the gaps. I'll give #2 a try, at least. It seems a bit more interesting than this one was.
Follows the typical Hagen formula, which works for me. I like Grey and Gem. I like that Gem was had a little meat on his bones and wasn't the stereotypical twink. He was spunky and not a pushover.
I really adored the characters in Gem and Grey's life. They had personality and lots of heart. I'm reading these from a nursing home and even though I'm terminal with this illness, I truly enjoy the books and series of Lynn Hagen. It was action filled and never boring. Absolutely loved it.
This book is awesome and I love that it brings characters in from the other series - Prince Christian, Maverick, Zeus etc efc!! The action starts early and so does the love/sex I love when the alpha finds his mate how he turns imo a wolf teddy bear!!!!! Thank you so Lynn Hagen - Lori
