She swore off love forever. But fate works in mysterious ways…

Chloe Davis is a free spirit with a passion for yoga and dreams of adventure. But when her life on the road lands her in the quaint and quiet town of Rockport, Texas, she finds much more than she expected… and quickly finds herself thrown head-first into a puzzling mystery.

Still reeling from the loss of his wife, detective Blake Thompson is in no mood for drama – or silly things like tarot reading and yoga. After the headstrong and enigmatic Chloe stumbles into his office with a report of strangely stolen belongings, he dismisses her stories as rambling nonsense. Nothing weird ever happens in his town… but as he begins to dig deeper, a series of confusing events leads him to wonder if Chloe is onto something, after all.

Caught up in a perplexing case that causes their fates to collide, Blake and Chloe must put aside their differences if they want to unravel the truth. Blake swears he can never love again, and Chloe is a hopeless romantic who’s committed to the life of a free spirit. But try as they might, a spark begins to simmer that threatens to turn both of their worlds upside down.

Can this unlikely duo uncover the secrets of this beautiful and quirky town? And can Chloe put aside the pain of past relationships and bring herself to love again?

As a fun and lighthearted contemporary women’s fiction book that artfully blends wholesome romance with a puzzling mystery that’s full of twists and turns, the Rockport Skies is a delightful read for anybody who wants to escape on an idyllic small town adventure. When I thought this new series was a pure romance story, I found that it’s another mystery story from Grace.

This first book was fascinating! Honestly, I am eager to read the rest of the series as I want to know how’s thing getting on with Chloe and Blake.

My first impression to Blake was complicated. Personally, I admired him. However, his unfriendly attitude towards Chloe made me sad.

For Chloe, I kind of sympathise her. Particularly when Blake misunderstood Chloe and condescended to her. I almost cried, every single time. In my eyes, Chloe was a woman who had a pure heart and who just ran away from an abusive relationship. Also, wanted to be friend with others and be loved.

After finishing the first book, I am now crossing my fingers and waiting for the next book to see what will happen next.

I received an ARC as an ARC team member, this is my voluntary and honest review.

Quick read. The story is broken up into different books and this one ended on a cliffhanger. This story is interesting, the writing is a little confusing as times like an editor didn’t catch some mistakes, and I feel like there is a major plot-hole that I will address in the next paragraph. But I am interested enough to continue on to the next book.

In the 4th chapter (pg 19) Blake’s POV, he says he returned Chloe’s purse to the B&B owner. Why are they hunting all over town for her purse? Blake had it, he took it to the B&B, gave it to Toby, told Toby to give it to Chloe. Why wasn’t Blake’s first reaction (when he finally decided to help) to tell her to ask Toby or go ask Toby himself? Did I read this too quick and miss something or interpret it wrong?

I love Grace Meyers's book. She knows how to get your attention & keep it. This is quick start of the mystery & doesn't waste any time getting right into the story! Chloe had just broke up with her boyfriend & leaves New Mexico behind. She decided to head to San Francisco, but needs to make a stop in Rockport, Texas. As soon as she gets out of Jeep she feels a calm, comforting feeling that this is a good place. She goes to the B & B and checks in. Then her purse is stolen & she has no money, no ID nothing. Now what? She had only met the retired police officer, Blake Thompson briefly so she ask him to help her. Meantime she teaches yoga so she will have some money. Everything that was of value was in her purse. Now what? What will she do with no money, no credits cards & no help! She has no friends there, except the retired police officer, but he doesn't want to get involved. What is she going to do?

I received this ARC copy for free and giving you my honest opinion. She always leaves a cliff hanger right when it is getting good! I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Lost Before You is the introduction to Chloe, a middle age yoga instructor fleeing from her abusive ex-boyfriend, and Blake, a retired police detective and single parent of a fourteen year old son after the death of his wife. These characters are diametrically opposite of each other but are undeniably attracted to each other. Chloe encourages Blake to help her find her missing bag but they end up with a mystery.

I just finished this first book in the Rockport Skies series. Grace has arrived in town and was going to just stay a few days. At her first yoga session and tarot reading Blake, a retired detective, show up as a favor to a friend. He is intrigued by this flower-child hippie and hopes she is leaving town soon. After a possible theft the two find themselves working together to solve the mystery. Sparks begin to fly before they solve the theft and a possible missing person.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my own opinion. I can’t wait to read book 2.

A Romantic Surprise

I loved this little tale about our favorite Texas town. Lynne and I frequently went to RocKport during our courtship. RocKport was a favorite birding destination for us. Our first Christmas together was spent at the old Surfside Motel. The only place to eat was the Whataburger. When we later decided to marry, we chose to do it in RocKport, eloping from the Texas hill country to keep a date with the JP there. The Surfside Motel went all out to host our wedding party. Nowhere but Texas!

Chloe Davis teaches yoga and reads tarot cards. She is an attractive 42 year old who dresses like a hippie. She just came out of a failed relationship and is on her way to California when she stops in Rockport Texas. She meets Blake, a retired police detective who is helping her investigate a robbery, but what happened to the suspect?

First of all, I wouldn't consider this much of a book .... Long short story maybe. I hadn't yet made up my mind as to the characters when bang! it stopped. -- Reminded me of the old Saturday afternoon matinees where just as you got to the cliff-hanger it stops and the "tune in next week for the next episode" .... To be honest, I feel a bit cheated by this tactic .. and don't really want to be suckered in again. -- I don't mind series books but there should be some sort of reasonable ending.

I love Grace Meyers books! Easy read & wholesome.
Free spirited Chloe & Blake meet in a small town that she happens to ride through during her travels California. Blake finds her intriguing but can't wait until she leaves town. Or does he? Chloe's bag with some personal things goes missing & being a retired cop decides to help her find it.

This is the first book in Grace Meyer's new series Rockport Skies. Loved the hippie and the retired detective working together. Chloe and Blake are the perfect main characters. There is, of course a mystery involved. Another page turner, it grabs you from the beginning and won't let go. Can't wait for book two.

Very disappointed in incomplete story in book 1.

Ten chapters and in the middle of the story the book ends? the book is over? Then you are instructed to continue the story in book 2 which requires purchase?
I am disappointed in everything.

When when will I learn to make sure books are standalones? Ends on a cliffhanger so you'll get book 2. I can't bring myself to waste any more time because it's poorly written.

A great start to a new series. Quick and easy
To read. Chloe, fresh off a bad relationship is on her way to California. She lands In Rockport Texas and settles in a b&b. She sets out to teach a yoga class and do Tarot readings. This brings her in touch with retired, widowed former police office Blake. Initially, the two seem to be as opposite as possible. Chloe enlists Blake’s help searching for her missing bag. As the pair teams up a mystery occurs

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion
