After reaching a monumental personal goal, Holly rewards herself with a trip to Scotland. Careful to keep her expectations low, she's knocked for a loop when she's presented with a flesh and blood fantasy in a kilt. Her tour of the British Isles shouldn't have included Fantasy Island, and she's not interested in playing pretend. But Mr. High and Mighty won't take buzz off for an answer.
Rule McEwan has been sent to an American woman for a specific reason. Too bad neither of them knows what that reason is. But he'll be damned if he'll leave her side until his golden opportunity for a noble deed presents itself. He's been promised a chance to knock the head off Bonnie Prince Charlie, and he will not give that up, no matter what the sharp-tongued lass does to frighten him away.
Each book in this series is too short because they're that good
Since time isn't an issue with our Highlanders (or witches) the toying with memories along with affections made these characters endearing and sweet. L.L. Muir... Your genius in allowing us to see the ending and beginning of loves life story(s) made me weep (once again). I don't know who YOUR George was, but I am honored to have known him, however his story came to be told.

In all 63 books I've never cried. I never cry as I was taught crying isn't proper only the weak cry. Tonight I cried for this book nd for these characters and this story. There are series of books where they are so predictable. This incredible journey of stories starts with this story of McEwan. It established the flow, the heart of the 79. Maybe it was that I read it in the dead of night, by candle light and being I sick, but it touched my heart.
McEwan will become the very first ghost released from the Moor and his story is to be incorporated into The Gathering. That said, McEwan is a grand tale about the highlander searching for the good dead that will free him while also providing longtime fans with a little more information about our favorite witch. Most highly recommend.
The only problem I ever have with a LL Muir book is that I read them to fast and then am disappointed my fun has ended. McEwan is no exception. To be honest, I have read better stories by. LL Muir about the ghosts but still the book was enjoyable. Please do read “The Gathering” first. You will be glad you did.
I'm a huge fan of both L.L. Muir and this amazing series. She picked the best authors to join her as I've yet to be disappointed with any of the books. Each of their writing style is different but the thread of love & loyalty are clearly there. As always, I can hardly wait for the next book.
It was OK. The “noble deed” wasn’t much, for all the hype it gets the whole time. It didn’t feel like it was worth the huge reward he was promised, that’s for sure. He was even made immortal so he could complete the quest without dying, but it was brought in the epilogue, it never factored in the story. It was instalove, no spice, and they had the chemistry of two good friends.
This is an amazing story. 2 strong men know the lives of there lives and what the cost would be to lose them. Ghosts are all among us. Mist are our beloved lost ones. Let us all find love.
I really don't know what I was expecting after reading the first then I could remember this bit and that bit throughout different and previous books. To say it made me feel special because I read all prior to this book. Thank you
Good read. Not sure about the the changes made in the series but time will tell. I did like these characters and the plot. A bit sad there but all turned out fine. Looking forward to the next installment.
This was such a great story! This is book two of the series and I can't wait for the next one. So engaging. I wish the Stories were longer, there is so much to the plot that if could be a full novel!! I enjoyed it very much!
Well, I can say this book was interesting, a bit of history (Culloden and Bonnie Prince Charlie) and had some funny but serious moments. I was so happy that Rule was able to help George.
