What an abomination. Gore porn galore. Not a fan of this weak-ass splatter-fest. But nothing is as awful as the artwork. This artist needs to go back to the minor leagues. I've never seen The Rhino drawn so badly. It's just plain bad. And the writing? The author just had a hard-on for killing people in rancid ways. Also, the "bad guys?" They're supposed to be a terrorist group of angry white guys. But then why are they the ones spouting off about climate change and wealth inequity. These New York writers just can't help themselves can they? Who would willingly pay for this? "Hey kids! Do you like acid burns while being lectured to? Well then this hot pile of llama shit is for you! Like melting skin? Like heads rolling? Like garbage tier writing and artwork? Look no further, True Believer!" Marvel Comics....just shut down already.
Finally!! A tie-in to DEVIL'S REIGN that has some meat. Yes, it's tangential to the main event, but it's connected more tightly than either the MOON KNIGHT or SPIDER WOMAN tie-ins are.
In the grand DEVILS REIGN scheme, it's probably skippable, but the team dynamic offers some fun. If you're planning to read the upcoming THUNDERBOLTS limited series, this might be a vital prelude. Time will tell, I suppose.
This is an interesting start to a 3 part run. So far it feels like a side mission which is part of thr Devil's Reign event and, as such, it helps flesh out Fisk's New York and new regime.
The artwork isn't fantastic and some scenes feel forced but the overall drift of the main narrative is interesting enough to give me hope for issues 2 and 3.
