Xavier Campbell needs a miracle. If he doesn’t want to lose the life he’s worked so hard to build, he must get married, and quickly. Trouble is, there is no woman in his life. Not even a friend with benefits. As a regular Dom at Eternal Eros, he gets what he needs and goes home. And a wife? Hell, no. This Highlander is single for a reason. So when his entire existence threatens to come crashing down, he realizes he might have to make some adjustments…or a bargain with the she-devil who beguiles him, body and mind, from the first moment he touches her. . Emma Morton wants a man. To play with. Watch television with. Cuddle with. And yes, God help her, she wants him hard, naked, and in her bed. More than once. What she doesn’t want is complications. Expectations. She is dedicated to her work, to building her business. She’s worked too long and too hard to change her plans for something as fleeting as love. No matter how much she wishes otherwise, life has repeatedly proven that romance is a myth. Pure fairytale.
But passion? Yes. She could definitely go for a ‘Single’s Night’ of play—and release—at the infamous Eternal Eros.
After one scorching night of pleasure, a reckless bargain is made. Marriage with an expiration date. A business arrangement. Nothing more.
But what starts as a farce becomes a bit too real and Xavier realizes this is no game. Telling Emma the truth would be dangerous…especially when he realizes he is playing for keeps.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Anya grew up listening to Cardinals baseball and reading anything she could get her hands on. She remembers her mother saying if only she would read the right type of books instead binging her way through the romance aisles at the bookstore, she’d have been a doctor. While Anya never did get that doctorate, she graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a M.A. in History.
Anya is a Bestselling and Award-Winning Author published in multiple fiction genres. She also writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance under the name, Maggie Mae Gallagher. A total geek at her core, when she is not writing, she adores attending the latest comic con or spending time with her family. She currently lives in the midwest with her two furry felines.
Emma is at Eternal Eros on singles night when she draws Xavier's marker as her Dom for the night. Xavier and Emma usually just bicker with each other but once they are alone together to talk through limits and negotiations for their scene, they both discover that each have needs outside of their kink that could be the answers to their problems. I enjoyed how Emma and Xavier worked through their problems and made a deal where he gets what he needs, she gets what she needs and sex is included. Emma just needs to marry Xavier and stay married for three years. What Xavier neglected to mention was that part of his deal requires he have a child by the end of the three years. That should create problems when that part of the deal is finally revealed. In the end, their bickering was really just their mutual attraction that both were in denial about. Their story was sweet and sexy and filled with desire. I also loved that a lot of their story was set in Scotland at Xavier's property. The epilogue was exactly what was needed for this reader's HEA satisfaction.
A great addition to this series is a spinoff from The Manor series, where we meet Gabriel Ryan and his BDSM club, The Eros Pit, in Denver, Colorado. The story will begin with 'Singles Night' at The Eros Pit with the Pagan Fling event. Emma Morton needs the release, an escape from work and pressure. Xavier Campbell has just learned that his granddad has passed away. In his will's stipulation, he has placed a burden on Xavier—marry within twelve months and produce an heir in three years, or the family estate will revert to the Scottish Preservation Society.
Emma needs this event at The Eros Pit, but what a shock when she draws her marker, and it is for none other than Xavier Campbell. These two have a way of getting on each other's nerves.
"Internal warning bells sounded that screamed: Danger imminent. Red alert. Engage offensive maneuvers."—Emma
"Out of all the submissives in the club, he had been saddled with the man-eating She-Devil."
The story's plot will have Emma and Xavier having a private scene together, which is precisely what each of them needs. It could be said they mesh well together. But Emma senses that Xavier is distracted and asks him about it—and he will tell her that his grandfather died.
Emma: I'm sorry. That must be difficult. Is there something I can do to help? Xavier: Appreciate it, lass, truly I do, but unless you can find me a wife in the next twelve months, I don't see how you could. Emma: I'll do it.
The story will have Emma saying that she will help—agreeing to marry him and stay married for the three years required to protect the Campbell land and the people's jobs in their town. She asks for a prenup to protect her business, and Xavier will have it drawn up, a marriage before a justice of the peace, and a trip to Scotland for the funeral and burial. The only thing he leaves out is the part about needing an heir by the end of three years—something his mother and brother warn him he needs to disclose. The trip to Scotland allows Emma and Xavier to explore their marriage, and the more they are together, the more they each crave. While each is falling in love, something they swore would never happen, they keep it to themselves.
Emma: What are you saying? Xavier: I care, lass, and it's worrisome, given my history. I don't let people in often. But you wormed your way in when I wasn't looking. Emma: I care too. And it's freaking me out too. I don't want to go back to the manor tomorrow. I want to stay here. With you. Xavier: Aye. Me too. We're bound to have fights, lass. We're far too dominant in our daily lives not to. Just know that you can claw and spit and hiss at me all you want, and I'll not walk away from you. I want you in my life, and not because of some will, but because I want you. Emma: I'm glad I drew your marker that night at Eros. Xavier: I am as well. I'd like to think fate had something to do with it. Because I think we've been circling each other for a while now. Emma: I'm all in. This. Us. Even though it scares me. Xavier: Me too, lass. It's you and me, nothing else matters.
"Emma was beginning to believe that marrying Xavier and coming with him to Scotland had been the best decision of her life."
But like all good things, one little thing leads to misunderstandings, secrets kept, betrayal felt, now two lives are in turmoil—will this be their end?
I loved the characters, the angst, the chemistry, secrets, mystery, and the new relationship. The story has dominance and submission, pain with pleasure, and explicit scenes with two people who are perfect for each other.
"Joy encompassed her days where sorrow had once reigned. And it all happened because she took a chance on a Highlander."
This was an enemies to lovers, fake marriage, BDSM romance.
I love every book from this author. She balances steam with real world situations and has all the feels. Plus her male characters are my favorites - alpha and kinky! Highly recommend.
Emma Norton lost her parents in a car accident when she was eight years old and was raised in the foster care system. As a result she does not allow herself to get too close to people and keeps her walls in place. She owns an art gallery and had been dedicated to building her business. She is a feisty sub who goes to Eternal Eros for a Single Night of play where she gets matched with Xavier.
Xavier Campbell manages the bar at Eternal Eros and is a Dom who does not usually participate in the special events. He is very wealthy from his family holdings back in Scotland. He left his home several years ago because his fiancee cheated on him with his best friend. His grandfather passed away and leaves him his estate with the condition he marry within a year and have a child within three years.
After doing their scene together Emma agrees to a business arrangement marriage to Xavier in order to get the money to fix her gallery roof. Once they marry in Town Hall, they travel to Scotland for the funeral and to produce the paperwork showing they are married. While in Scotland they spend time traveling together and end up falling in love. They have a misunderstanding but manage to save their relationship and get their HEA.

For me the fake finance genre is either a hit or a miss…this one was closer to a hit. Emma needed some money to make some costly repairs on her art gallery and Xavier needed a wife to meet the demands of his grandfather’s will.
Emma and Xavier both were part of a BDSM club so they were at least acquainted with each other. Emma not a true submissive in the sense of the word would submit if it fit her needs. Xavier said he wanted something different however he was drawn to her.
This was a fast get together they had a two-week long honeymoon trip to Scotland to prove to everyone involved in Xavier’s life that their fake arrangement was real.
What I did like was that they almost immediately decided to give the marriage a real go. They were upfront about most things. Xavier kept a secret and as we know secrets come out and cause a mess. It was just a matter of when Emma would find out…the secret was mentioned over and over again in the story.
It of course caused some serious angst for both of them, but thankfully that was short-lived to their HEA.
I don’t mind horizontal time however if you strip that part out of the story there isn’t much else to it. These two were like bunnies, I get that they had a small bit of a past but not enough for them to really know each other and for you to see them grow as a couple.
Xavier threw his money around a lot, a problem comes up lets throw some money at it, oh you are upset lets throw some more money your way.
Emma had a rough childhood and it did affect how she looked at things, thankfully it wasn’t a total angst fest.
A bit more meat to the story would have elevated it to a higher review as it was there was a shallowness to it that was covered in money and steamy times.
I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review.
Both Xavier and Emma have enough emotional and relationship baggage that it could sink a fleet of ocean liners; neither one is prepared to trust a partner anymore. Will this pair of commitment-phobes be able to get over their previous hurts, or will they only reinforce the lessons of their pasts? This story was a prime example of what happens when porcupines mate. All those sharp pointy defences stabbing outwards to keep everyone away, protecting the soft vulnerable hearts within. Oof! These two. I spent half the book wanting to cuddle them and the other half wishing I could smack some sense into them. I loved Xavier and Emma together, but their desperate need to protect themselves made them kind of frustrating at times. I may have only just finished reading this installment, but I already can’t wait until we can come back for the next dungeon fantasy night. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
This Dungeon Singles book was a good read with drama, sorrow and romance, even a mini tour of Scotland. Being Scots-Irish my self, I enjoyed a Highlander book boyfriend for a couple of days. The only thing that kept from giving it five stars is I didn't feel a deep connection to the characters as I have with previous books in the series.

Oh my GOODNESS!! So much yumminess! I just love Anya's writing and Midnight Highlander is no exception. All her heros have all the alpha male yumminess. They love and cherish their women through thick and thin. This one is an enemies to lovers only because Emma wants to keep her space from anyone who might try to push her limits and fix her hurts and she knows Xavier will do just that. Both of them have so much emotional baggage they are positive nothing good can come out of a real marriage. And the heat, oh my I needed an air conditioner the whole way through this book. Anya knows how to bring the steamy hot heat. I usually read her series in book order, but I've gotten behind and let me tell you you won't get lost if you read this as a standalone. Happy reading!
This is the 7th book in this series but it can be read as a standalone. Emma owns an art gallery and is focused on her business. She is a member at Eternal Eros and enjoys going there for some fun without any complications. Xavier needs a wife and an heir or he could lose his family fortune. He and Emma share a wild night together and he makes her an offer. What will happen when things become all too real, will the expiration date on this marriage come to pass or will it become real marriage? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and intense chemistry and sizzling scenes. I loved it!
This is a riveting, strong characters with a sexy interaction, very memorable read This was a simply fantastic read and I have to say that it grabbed my attention right from the very off and the proceeded to get better and better, in fact it was that wonderful I had to read it in one sitting simply impossible to put down until I reached the very end. Xavier has been put in a difficult predicament by his grandfather who he loved dearly but had put a clause in his will that decreed if he failed to marry in a year and produce a child within three the family estate and the main silica work which employed the majority of the people out of world would be given to a charity. Emma who grew up in difficult background has formed a very icy veneer which most men see as her being either frigid or cold, she has few friends and is now under threat of losing the only thing she truly loves and has worked extremely hard to build and that is her art gallery. The roof urgently needs re-roofing but it will cost over a hundred thousand and she simply has not got the funds and has no idea what to do. When she is at the BDSM club attending a special evening her Dom for the night is one of the owners Xavier, a Scot in every sense of the word who has always found Emma to be extremely irritating, he is however not truly sure why. When they are talking about their current problems Emme puts herself forward as a possible solution if Xavier is prepared to pay for the repair of her studios roof, he also agrees to pay her for the three years she will act as his wife. They agree it will be a loyal, solid marriage with them being true to their vows and agree to include sex in the mix. The one thing that Xavier neglects to tell Emma about at the very beginning is the fact that he also needs an ayre, this is something he decides to broach at a later date. Xavier is sure that Emma has been very badly hurt by someone at some time and is determined to discover all he can about his wife, what neither expected was that their action between the sheets and in their BDSM relationship was simply fantastic…. Without giving away too much and too many of the important surprises I will let you discover them for yourself and assure you that like me you’ll love every page. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing. . And we're back with my monthly Anya Summer's fix. I'm addicted. She's one of my favorite authors for a reason and the reason is that she writes goos stories out of thin air. All of her characters are amazing and everytime someone new show up, I expect a book for them. No exceptions.
This is is the seventh book of the Dungeon Singles Night series. A series focused on a BDSM club and its members. The couple on this one is Emma (who had a cameo on the previous book) and Xavier (who is a bartender on the club). They don't hate each other, but let's say they don't like each other either. Xavier thinks she's a brat and Emma thinks he's arrogant and they keep bantering on the club.
So during Singles Night, an event made so every available dom and sub could know more people and maybe click, Emma ends up with Xavier's marker so they'll have to scene together. Emma needs her scene because she's been through problems. Her art gallery is not doing really well and now the roof needs fixing and she doesn't have the money to afford it without going bankrupt. At the same time, Xavier needs a wife to claim the inheritance his grandfather left him, or everything the Campbell family built will go away... So, as two plus two equals four, they both decide to marry with a expiration date.
Of course they fall for one another. And it's fast... and hard. They fuck like bunnies! It's amazing how fast they decide to try to be real thing. Specially because everything Emma ever wanted was to be loved and have a family. The scenes are hot, the couple has too much chemistry for their own good and the Scottish scenario is perfect for every story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved Xavier as much as I loved Emma and the epilogue at the end of the book, made me diabetic. That's how sweet it was.
So if you're looking for a enemies to lover-ish, marriage of convenience with BDSM sprinkles, that's your book.
Emma is in a bind she needs to get cash so she can fix the roof of her art gallery and has know idea how she will raise the funds if only running away were and option but it's not what she needs is a night at her favorite BDSM club Eros it's singles night and she will ge able to cut loose what she dosen't need is to end up with one iritating Scotsman Dom Xesavior he always brings out the worst in her.
Xesavior has just gotten the worst news his grandfather has died and left a stipulation in his will as the oldest he must marry stay married for 3 years and produce and heir. Hes furious if he doesn't comply it all goes to a historical preservation society he doesn't need the money but family and friends in Scotland depend on him to keep the land and business going his brother Jasper suggests he find a sub that would do make it a business arrangement with benefits who would agree to that. His night couldn't get any worse until he's paired with the clubs most iritating Sub Emma or so he finds until everything clicks.
Once married and on there way to Scotland they decide to give there fake marriage a real try only past hurt and one big lie interfere with there plans can Emma forgive Xesavior's secret and get past her past childhood pain. And Xesavior he needs to let go of his own past and a relationship that burned him.
I liked the book it was funny and steamy both Xesavior and Emma help each other and make it work. This isn't a BDSM book in the true sense one because Xesaver is not harsh or overly controlling he is more caring at times and two Emma is not a true Sub she is more controlled and only allows Xesavior more control and surrender when she feels cared for by him.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Midnight Highlander is the seventh book in the Dungeon Singles Night series, but could be read as a stand alone. Emma and Xavier have always rubbed each other the wrong way, but when they’re paired together for singles night, they find they might be able to help each other more than just physically. Arranging a marriage between them to benefit them both makes logical sense, but what happens when their emotions start to feel very real and they both want more out of their arrangement?
Oh wow, I really enjoyed this book! There were some serious emotions felt through the pages, including some really delicious steamy scenes. I loved that there was a secret that hung over their relationship from the very beginning mixed with a woman with a past that makes her reluctant to open up her heart, and it spells a recipe for disaster. Emma learned young not to trust other people and has always relied upon herself to get things done, and the only place she feels like she fits in is at the club. I adored watching her slowly open up her heart to Xavier, to letting him possess not just her body, but her trust and emotions, too! So sweet! Xavier was dominant and such an alpha personality. I loved that once he realized how well they clicked together, he didn’t want to do anything to jeopardize the specialness of what they had, even if that meant keeping secrets. I loved their relationship together, I loved their passion and the ways they could truly be there for one another. There’s definitely a bit of drama in this book, but that made their HEA that much more worth it in the end. I am loving this series and can’t wait to read the next one!
Man, Emma and Xavier just about burn up the pages of Midnight Highlander! This book has one of those highly improbable yet utterly enjoyable setups where the hero has to marry and produce an heir to keep the family fortune—and yes, this is a contemporary romance! Xavier and Emma have been sniping at one another at their club for ages. But as a dom and submissive, they get paired at an event one night. Xavier has just found out about the demands of his late grandfather’s will, and Emma is in dire need of funds to repair and maintain her art gallery. So when Emma discovers Xavier’s problem, she’s happy to marry him for the money he’ll give her. But Xavier decides not to mention that second part of his grandfather’s provisions….
As a dom and sub, Emma and Xavier turn out to be perfectly matched, and those scenes about torched the innards of my ereader. Emma is a foster child with a history of abandonment, and in Xavier and his family she finds something she craves. They return to Scotland for his grandfather’s funeral, and she finds she loves that country as much as Xavier does. He, meanwhile, is stunned by the intensity of feeling he has for Emma and is thrilled by their burgeoning relationship.
I flat-out loved these two characters, which is great because this is basically a cabin/travelogue romance. Emma and Xavier explore both Scotland and their relationship together in an intense focus. The secondary characters are there to enhance who Xavier and Emma are as people.
So if you want a sensual romance with two gun-shy, strong, yet stubborn stunned to find themselves overtaken by love, you’re in for a great read with Midnight Highlander.
This is the first book that I have read from this sir and I was not disappointed in the least, in fact I was pleasantly surprised! From start to finish this book was captivating and hard to put down. It's a well written novel with a decent plot and main characters that have fantastic chemistry and match each other well. Emma is a strong, fiery, passionate and direct female protagonist and Xavier is the archetypal sexy, dominant highland hunk (I may be biased as I am Scottish!). Although this is a marriage arrangement story, Xavier and Emma are made for each other, definitely both benefiting from the arrangement. So when Xavier tells Emma of his dilemma during an Eternal Eros singles night, Emma is happy to help him out as this arrangement could be the answer to her problems too. It seems that Xavier's meddling grandfather has added condition that in order to inherit, Xavier must marry. However, whilst he explains the ins and ours of the marriage deal, he leaves out one important added condition, Xavier must also produce an heir during the marriage. If course you can imagine that once Emma discovers this hidden fact there are fireworks and this threatens to derail their burgeoning relationship. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will definitely be reading the other titles in this series. I would also recommend this book to others. So if you're into exciting, steamy, sexy romance books, with added BDSM, and a heart warming, satisfying HEA then this is the book for you.

Book 7 in the Dungeon Singles Night series features the sexy, brooding, bartender and Scottish dominant, Xavier, and the pretty, intelligent, sometimes bratty, art gallery owner, Emma.
Emma's greatest secret desire is to belong, to love, to have and be a part of a family. Fear keeps her desire in check. Xavier's holds back a piece of himself due to betrayal.
Due to his grandfather's death, as the oldest living heir, Xavier must find a wife in order to hold on to his family's land and holdings. Emma is in need of a money for costly roof repairs to her art gallery.
As fate would have it, Emma draws Xavier's marker during Singles Night. What follows is a journey to everything. Passion. Fears revealed. Specter of the past. Hurt. Forgiveness. Hope. Love. Belonging. Everything.
Ms. Summers takes us on quite a journey. Across the mountains of Denver to the bonny lakes of Scotland. Through personal triumphs and heartrending pain. Through risking it all for love.
If you are new to the series, you do not need to have read the first six books in order to enjoy this one. (Although I would encourage you to do so because they're so delicious!) Followers of Ms. Summers' work know what they're getting: a solid story, with BDSM elements; angst; unfolding of families and friendships; and a whole lot of love.
Another great addition to the Dungeon Singles Night series!

Xavier is the bar manager at Eternal Eros, he doesn't need to work because of his family money but likes to keep himself busy and enjoys what the club provides.
Emma owns an art gallery, she goes to Eternal Eros to de-stress and let go of her problems for one night.
She doesn't like Xavier so imagine her suprise when she ends up playing a scene with him on singles night.
Xavier's not in a great mood on singles night, his grandfather has recently died and he has just found out what stipulations he has left in his will for Xavier to be able to inherit and protect his family legacy, he needs to be married and produce an heir. When he finds out that Emma will be his sub for the night, he tries to show that he isn't bothered, but even though she isnt his favourite person he has always been intreagued how she would behave while under his control.
Emma finds out that Xavier needs to get married to inherit and she offers to help him as a business transaction as she needs funds to repair her gallery. But what happens when spending time together leads them to develop real feelings and when Emma finds out the part of Xaviers inheritance clause tha5 he hid from her. Both are hesitant to have real relationships because of their pasts, will they realise and confess their real feelings before it's too late.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend reading it.

'Midnight Highlander' is book six in Anya Summers' "Dungeon Singles Night" series. If you've read the blurb I'm sure the same thing went through your mind as it did mine, "Another fake marriage romance?" I will say I was a bit dubious after reading the overview but knowing and enjoying Ms. Summers' work and thoroughly enjoying the series up to this point, I thought "Why not?" And I'm so glad I did! Yes, this scenario has been written about probably a thousand times and I'm sure there will be more to come in the future but Ms. Summers has the initial interaction between Xavier and Emma at Eternal Eros on Singles Night. Both of them being alpha personalities, they've snipped and sniped at each other from the very beginning but this night fate decided to match them up as play partners. The initial scene had heat building and sparks flying when these two physically came together. Each of them has situations in their personal life that have put them behind the eight ball and they've come to a mutually agreed contract. One that will last three years. We tag along to Scotland, see the sights, witness the building of trust and the loosening of fears and insecurity except there's an important piece of the puzzle that's been left out of any of their conversations. This was an in-depth, intense, emotional journey that was beautifully written. And who wouldn't fall for a sexy highlander?.

I just have to say Anya really has done it again. Not a single book of hers has been a disappointment. In Midnight Highlander we get to see Emmas story. She has just left her gallery with bad news of needing a new roof. So to help get it off her mind she attends the singles event at Eros. She arrives and goes straight to the bar for a drink and her usuall verbal sparring with Xavier. Something about this strong willed Scott just sets her off. Luckly she knows he never enters the events to play with a new submissive. Only her luck has run out and the marker she drew was Xavier. Xaviers grandfather has just died. He, along with his brother Jasper, have just learned in order for Xavier to inherit the family land he must marry in a year and produce an heir in 3. While talking with Emma before their scene she senses something is off with him and learns of the passing and the first stipulation. She agrees to be his wife and in return he will set her up with money to fix her problems at the gallery. He keeps the second stipulation to himself for now. But will holding that in destroy what they will build in their relationship? Can a foster girl really find love in a Scottish Highlander. OMG read this book. You will not be disappointed. Midnight Highlander is the seventh book in the Dungeon Singles Night series and it is burning hot. The fake marriage with some smoking hot benefits BDSM story is about Emma Morton and Xavier Campbell. She owns an art gallery where the roof is in need of a lot of repair but she does not have the money. Xavier is rich but finds himself in a situation after his grandfather dies. The will says that he will inherit the land and the money as long as he is married for three years and produces an heir. Well this Dom is not too happy as he has no intention of marrying but now things are about to get complicated. Emma and Xavier know each other from the EROS club, a local BDSM club where they both go to play, he as a Dom and she as a sub. It is Xavier's brother who suggests finding a sub for a marriage of convenience with some fun benefits. It is singles night at the club and these two find themselves paired together for the night. Neither likes the other as they irritate and annoy each other to no end. But it seems that this night that annoyance transforms into a passion for each that just fits. So an arrangement is made that will change both their lives in ways neither ever saw coming.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Xavier and Jasper Campbell were making arrangements to go back to Scotland for their grandfather's funeral before the club was due open while talking to their mum, she told Xavier some conditions of his grandfather's Will. Xavier was going to have to marry and produce an heir within three years or the entire Campbell Estate and mine will be turned over to the Scottish Preservation Society. The news immediately put him into a funk so when he went out to work the bar, and his least favorite submissive, Emma arrived ordering a drink, his mood did not improve. That night at the club was singles night, and Xavier had agreed to be one of the Dom's to participate. All day Emma's luck had been in the toilet with it continuing there when she drew Xavier's marker as her partner for the evening. Could things get any worse for either one of them? You will not believe what these two got up to behind closed doors? For two people that could not stand each other before, they have a surprising chemistry and understanding of each other. Enjoy this unforgettable story between two very different people. One with lots and lots of family a the other one with no family at all. A real eye opener.

Can I give this 10 stars??? I LOVE Anya Summers, I love the Dungeon Singles Night, and I really, really love Xavier Campbell, woohoo. This is the 7th book in this series, but each can be read a stand-alone, but really, you need to buy this series. Xavier needs a wife to keep his family estate in Scotland or it will be turned over to the Scottish Preservation Society per his grandfather's will. Emma Morton needed money to repair her art gallery. When they are paired together for single's night, they both are not thrilled, they have never seemed to like each other. But when they have a surprisingly intense evening Xavier asks her by asking if she will marry him in exchange for a sizable amount of cash and she agrees. When they travel to Scotland, they discover more about each other, the chemistry is real between them, and they grow to love one another. Until Emma discovers Xavier hasn't been totally honest with her and feels betrayed by her dom. The book is so well written, these are great characters, the sizzle and steam is hot, and just enough drama. My favorite!!
I received an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
This is my favorite series by Anya Summers. I love this book so much I've kept my pre-order even though I received an ARC.
This is Xavier and Emma's journey. We also touch base with the other couples from the series but this could be read as a stand alone.
Emma finds herself in need of some costly repairs for her art gallery at the same time Xavier's meddling grandfather stipulates he must marry in order to inherit. In order to help eachother they agree to marry..... and have sex as an added benefit. There is not as much use of the Eros club in this book but there is still quite a bit of BDSM.
The story leads us through how the characters' experiences have led to them both being reluctant to grasp what is right in front of them. And how they can overcome their pasts.
I adored this book and could not put it down. I loved the HEA and the epilogue was truly heart warming. I can't wait until the next book in the series comes out!
This was the first book by this author that I have read and it did not disappoint. While this is the 7th book in the series, it was not a problem that I had not read the previous books. Xavier Campbell, is a undercover billionaire who works at Eternal Eros as the bar manager. Emma Morgan owns a art gallery and is a member of the club. Xavier's grandfather will not only requires he get married within a year, he must produce an heir within 3 years. Emma's art gallery needs a new roof, but she does not have the 100k needed to do the repairs. Emma and Xavier have always had a contentious association, so it surprises both when they are paired for a Single Night's event. The intensity between these the was off the charts from start to finish. A business proposal to marry to solve each other problems is proposed. Both have past scars that have yet to heal. The entire book was very engaging and intense. I throughly loved these characters and cannot wait for the next installment.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Emma Morton & Xavier Campbell. What do you do when you come from nothing? Well you fight and you guard your heart from ever being hurt. This is what Emma has done in her life. But when Xavier gives her a proposal she just can't refuse she hopes it won't mean her hearts on the line too. Xavier isn't looking for the wife, the picket fence and the 2.5 children. He likes his life especially as a dom, and so far there hasn't been a sub out there that has made him want to change that. Well that is until he learns the terms of his grandfather's will and everything changes. He is looking for a sub that is willing to help him out without wanting his heart in the process. Can they find HEA or when feelings get involved will one of them take off for the hills?
Another hit out of the park by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I love big burly highlanders so I might be a bit partial. Xavier is a Scot who works in his cousin's BDSM club Eros as bar manager. He plays but isn't looking for any commitment. Emma is a bit complicated as she grew up in the foster care system from the age of 8. She owns a successful gallery and also plays at Eros. When Emma pulls Xavier's marker at a Single's Night, he will be her dom for the night. When he confesses that his grandfather just passed away and he needs a wife within a year or loses his family estate and mine, Emma volunteers as tribute. Although they are extremely compatible in bed, both Xavier and Emma yearn for more from each other, but are guarded and not quite honest with their feelings toward each other and what each is hiding in order to make love work.
Loved it...both broke my heart just a bit...but loved Xavier's dominance and Emma's softness/submissiveness but was assertive with what she wanted.. I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Midnight Highlander by Anaya Summers was a page-turner. Ms. Summers had the right recipe for dominant/submissive contemporary romance: lots of spicy love scenes with a creative plot.
Xavier Campbell needed a wife to gain his inheritance bequeathed to him by his Scottish grandfather. Emma Morton needed money to repair her art gallery. Interestingly, Xavier and Emma appeared to dislike one another, yet the bargain was struck within minutes. Two days later, they were married. Lol, who wouldn’t want to marry a handsome highlander, gain a few million and go to Scotland? Fortunately, even with all the drama, love blossomed.
Xavier and Emma’s pasts added color to the story. Thankfully, their heated encounters were tastefully executed. The characters and settings were well developed. The story was excellently written and easy to follow. And the epilogue was sweet. Five Stars.
This is another great book in the ‘Dungeon Singles Night’ series and tells the story of Xavier and Emma. In order to inherit his birthright, Xavier needs to marry within a year of his grandfather’s death so he enters into a business agreement with Emma, an art gallery owner who is in need of cash to repair the gallery. He gets a wife and she gets a healthy bank balance, however, they both get more than they bargained for.
An enjoyable and entertaining book with a touch of BDSM and smoking HOT sex scenes, all of which makes a very easy to read page turner. The chemistry between the characters is electric.
Just an amazing series, can’t wait to read more. Highly recommended if this kind of romance is your kink.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book in the Dungeon Singles Night series is about two people who think they have things just how they want in life. Xavier and Emma are both passionate people but not about love. They even have preconceived notions about each other. One lucky draw is going tie them together for more than just a scene. They decide to intertwine their lives for a few years on paper but Emma doesn't know the whole story. When the original terms of the will come out, it jeopardizes the unexpected relationship they have built. I liked both characters and how they began to see each other in a new light. Their chemistry is off the charts. I enjoyed the storyline and you can't beat the setting.

Xavier needs a wife, stat. When Emma, who he finds quite fractious, draws his marker at singles night at The Eros Pit, he mentions it, never imagining that she will offer herself up. She needs a cash infusion for her gallery, and it is a business arrangement, after all. When he fears his lie of omission has lost her forever, he will do what it takes to woo her back, even if it means letting her go first.
This book is incredible. I have read the series in order, which I strongly recommend, and Xavier has shown up more than once as the crusty bar manager. I so looked forward to his story, and it did not disappoint. The author's prose is beautiful, and this story will linger as a book hangover. No complaints here. This is not to be missed.
