Dani Sinclair was a 2008 RITA® finalist in the RITA®: Contemporary Series Romance: Suspense/Adventure category for her novel Midnight Prince. She was RITA finalist for her novel Better Watch Out, won a Romantic Times Magazine Reviewers’ Choice Award for Best Harlequin Intrigue of 2000 for The Specialist, and was nominated for a Career Achievement award for Series Romantic Suspense.

Ms. Sinclair and her husband reside outside Washington, D.C., where they share their home with four indoor cats, a small feral colony and the varied wildlife that passes through, stopping to feed at their bird feeders on a daily basis. They are active volunteers with a local animal rescue group and urge everyone to be responsible pet owners.

Surprisingly good. It didn't feel dated even at 10 years. Cassy (Dr. Cassiopia Richards) is drawn into a continuing investigation of her father's murder and theft of a deadly toxin that happened 4 years prior. Gabriel Lowe was the military security assigned to protect her father but instead thought to have killed him. The suspense was good, well-paced and believable. We are in on the action throughout the story as Cassipoia and Gabriel stay one step ahead of the person trying to find the missing toxin and murdering anyone who gets in the way. I really liked the dialogue between the MCs - snappy and fast-moving. Their relationship moves fast also, but always makes sense.
This is another older book that I really wish the author could go back and revise - adding 50-100 pages. The overall pacing of the book is good, but we could get a bit more description, more backstory on some of the supporting characters (who mostly all end up dead), and definitely more of the motel room scenes - wink, wink.

Gabe loses his memory when a bomb explodes outside Dr Richard's house. The government is unable to prove he is guilty of killing Dr Richards. Cassie decides to break into Gabe's house to try to find the missing toxin. She leads the murderer to Gabe and they end up on the run together.

Romance, suspense... interesting story.

Another good contemporary romantic suspense with lots of suspense and action.

Please note that despite the clever choice of title - there are no vampires, shifters or princes involved...

I loved it. I really liked the Heroine. She was strong and sassy. The hero was truly a good guy. The story was exciting. The book wrapped up well.
