A fun story of a boy discovering his size relative to the other things he can find in the world. He says about how he is able to know he is growing. A good story for early years to have them discover the relative size of things in the world.

It is easy to underestimate the importance of growing bigger when you are a child; of measuring milestones such as reaching the light switch or being able to see in the bathroom mirror. Tom Hopgood captures beautifully that need with superb understanding, showing children that whilst they may be smaller than their friends, they are also smaller than the sky or a bear. He illustrates things they are bigger than, like ants and mice and shows that just sometimes along comes the much needed proof that they are growing.
This book reinforces the language of comparison and measurement: big, bigger, gigantic, small, smaller, 'ginormous', massive, longer. It invites measurements and ordering.
The illustrations are soft and gentle, I love the bear and the page with ants!! Have a look!
