The red wolf thrall brings grown men to their knees.
All it takes is one look from an omega red wolf shifter, and men mistakenly believe they have found their fated mate. Kings have been dethroned, businessmen have lost fortunes, and heartless murderers have fallen helplessly in love under the curse of the thrall.
Kai knows his feelings for Noah, a handsome red wolf shifter, may be nothing but pheromones and magic. But what is love, if not magic?
Kai’s going after him anyway…
Red Wolf Thrall is a contemporary shifter romance set in the world of Heron Manor. It includes knotting, MPreg, and a love story between two omegas. A shorter version of this book was previously published as When Two Omegas Dance.
Really cute! Amy does write very appealing stories. Omega omega relationships aren't that common in the mpreg genre, so it's cool to see one. And it was very sweet too
The good + Kai's persistence + The good communication about everything + Noah's respect for Kai's gender identity + How well Kai communicated what he wanted and didn't want during sex + Loving parents + Kai not trying to erase Noah's past
The neutral o I liked Joe, but I feel that he could have done more to help Noah by being more open to him o The ending with Ezekial was kind of... lame?
The bad - Their first child being a boy was a foregone conclusion, even before conception. Would having a daughter really have been so bad? - - Reading the 'bonus story' was required for tying up loose ends - The blurb falsely claims this book contains knotting
I liked a lot in this book. It was cute, and I really liked Kai. Noah was also cute, even if this sometimes seemed like a case of healing trauma by magic dick. Well, and caretaking, because Kai was very good to Noah. The stuff with Ezekial had a very disappointing conclusion (that I had to find out in a bonus story instead of the actual story, which made it obligatory to read and not very much 'bonus') and the baby stuff didn't work for me. Overall, an okay read, but I won't read it again.
I feel like I say this every time I review in Amy Bellow's book but seriously, if you have not read and Amy Bellow's book yet what are you even doing with your life?? I mean the books are full of smut, swoony characters (Ari!!), mutual painting, what more could you ask for?! I will say this one was kind of angsty but I am very into that.
I think my favorite thing about these books is how the world is so intertwined yet several of the books are clearly standalones. A lot of the characters are mentioned in Fairy Daddy but you don't need to read that to read this. I mean you should but that's neither here nor there.
This is my version of book candy. A highly emotional story (you're gonna feel this one) full of sweet moments and smutty delights with a beautiful HEA. Kai and Noah were everything, and now I really want to move to Vermont. Five stars because Ari is going to get a story right? No but seriously, Ari is going to get a story, RIGHT? I know Amy reads these things.
this book was very sweet. i was obviously here for the omega/omega dynamic, and even though i didn't really get what i wanted, since kai pretty much felt like an alpha to me, i still enjoyed the story.
however, compared to other amy books, i would still recommend snuggle season more.
If you’re looking to read an Amy Bellows book this fits all boxes. If you’re looking to find the opposite of one of your favourite tropes: two dominant alpha(type)s fighting it out then you’ll be a tad disappointed.
Kai is an omega but identifies more as an alpha-omega and is more dominant Noah however is a more submissive omega so we don’t have the two more submissive types fighting it out to be in that role
4.5 Just like the first novella I really liked this one, The family aspect of it and the take on omega there are only a few minor changes from the novella that I have a little problem with otherwise this was still a great story.
Amy Bellows can do no wrong in my eyes. All her characters feel real and unique. Her books are also interconnected but she writes them truly in a way where you don’t necessarily have to know the larger shifter world to enjoy the one you’re reading (which is so rare!). I love the spectrum of sexualities she portrays and the beauty of love is always top tier. 5 stars.
I got this book as an ARC last night and finished it this morning, I just couldn'tput it down. I really liked Kai and Noah, they were just so well written and I really liked their story, two people facing huge life changes and fears finding love and trust in each other while still being capable of standing alone. The story itself was a fun read even if it did end far more quickly than my heart was ready for! And I honestly have yet to read anything by Amy that I didn't like so take from that what you will
I mean, not gonna lie, I didn’t enjoy Noah and Kai’s story very much. It felt very clinical and I got bored reading it. I enjoyed Joe and Kellan’s short story at the end way more than the main one. I’d rather read a book on Joe and Kellan. But anyways, I was bored although I’m a big fan of Amy Bellows’ works.
2.5. I was hoping for something like Snuggle Season, which I really liked, but this wasn't it. There was too much omegaverse/shifter worldbuilding in such a short length.
Title - Red Wolf Thrall Author - Amy Bellows Genre - MM Romance, Paranormal Published - March 2022 Pages - 235 Pages
Noah is an omega red wolf shifter, the problem is one look from a red wolf shifter omega can make you believe you have found your fated mate. Noah has faced this issue too many times to count. So he's secluded himself away from everyone. On top of that, he's forced to live in a compound with other red wolf shifters who are overly religious and would not react well if they found out he has no interest in alphas. Kai is a wolf omega, ballet has always been his life but when his contract isn't renewed he doesn't know what to do with himself, he decides to become a stripper. Taking a job at the local strip club that's where he meets Noah. Kai is convinced Noah is his fated mate but Noah thinks it's only because of the red wolf thrall. Is fate on Noah and Kia's side or is it just the thrall?
This book is a supernatural MM Romance. This book has shifters in it. I have always loved shifter books and I especially love Amy Bellows books. I loved the characters in this book, I felt so sorry for Noah, he literally has nothing and he's had his heart broken so many times all he wants is to be loved. Kai is exactly what Noah needs, I was rooting for the two of them right from the start. I found the characters to be likeable and relatable. I thought this book was well written, easy to follow. I enjoyed the authors writing style and as always I can't wait for more from this author.
I thought the plot was interesting, kept me hooked, the pacing of the story was good throughout. Really looking forward to more from this series. I'm hoping Sam gets his own story and also Doc. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys MM shifter romances and looking for an amazing five star read. But be warned once you read one of Amy Bellow's books you won't stop at one.
This is a paranormal shifter romance with mpreg. Although it’s not part of a series per se, if you have read other books by Amy Bellows, you will recognize a few of the previously background characters come out from the shadows.
There is something about this book that leaves me feeling raw, emotional, a bit sad even rejoicing in the ending. This book takes place (mostly) in the fantasy version of Anchorage, Alaska; it is a city I am actually pretty familiar with so I was pleased that the author gets some aspects of the attitude of living there right without throwing out on the page random terms or expressions of Alaskan culture that so many fiction writers mistakenly do. If it’s on the page, it has a purpose to this author in their exceptional world-building and great character development!
I won’t give you a recap of the book, you can read the back-of-the-book blurb for that, but I will say that this author’s “omegaverse” where men can have babies, people can shift into animals and there is a world of magic beyond comprehension, is shockingly addictive. This isn’t your typical love-at-first sight, fated mates story (this is a whole genre in of itself if you are not aware), but the depth of complexity of emotions and the relationships makes this story feel powerful, effecting me deeply. There is something about fiction that allows us to open our minds to ideas, concepts and beliefs that we mind close our minds to otherwise. Take a chance on this book, let yourself marinate your mind in the world of Heron Manor!
So we have the story of Kai & Noah who are both Omegas & are only attracted to omegas. Kai is a ballet dancer & has always landed Alpha roles, as apparently there is a shortage of Alpha's for this role. As it turns out, he is not being brought back for the next season so he is now out of work. He decides to become a stripper & the club that he & his friend goes to has Noah stripping there. He is a red wolf shifter & apparently his pheromones makes others believe that he is their true mate, but after a time, it wears off & they become angered with their feelings thinking that Noah has tried to trap him. Kai knows immediately that Noah is his true mate. Noah also lives in the red wolf sifter compound which is like a cult. Reminds me of Waco where the cult lives & they buy & hoard guns. Noah's dad is an Omega & he kind of knows what is going on, but hasn't said anything to Noah. I want his dad's story as he needs to find someone to love. Noah's dad had died years previously. We get to watch our two boys grow to become friends & then lovers. I loved that Noah's dad accepted him as he was as well as Kai's fathers accepting what he did & not hold it against him. The butterflies, oh was awesome. You will need to read it to find out what I mean. Even though this is set in the Heron Manor world, it is not necessary to read the other books, but why wouldn't you :)
Arc provided by the author in exchange for an honest opinion
I love the world that Amy Bellows' has created with their stories and this one is a stand alone in this universe. What Amy brings to the table are people or relationships that don't really fit into one specific mold and Kai is a beautiful example of this. He's comfortable with the label omega but not all traditional aspects and Noah respects Kai's needs and boundaries. This is a super sweet tale between these two characters where trust and family is found. I think grief is another major theme that runs through but is dealt with in a very compassionate manner. Noah grieves for the loss of his alpha father and community while Kai is processing the loss of his dream of dancing ballet professionally. This is a beautifully emotionally fulfilling story and left me feeling warm and hopeful. There's something magical about this story and I can see myself rereading this one!
As always, I find myself drawn to the side characters and want them to get their own story. Sam is Kai's best friend, and though human, he has a large personality. I also would like to see Doc find his much deserved HEA as well.
Another sweet romance from Amy Bellows!!! Low angst and lots of shifter magic!
Kai, an omega shifter who’s only dream is to be a ballet dancer, is cut for the upcoming year in his ballet company. On a lark he decides to become a stripper. Noah, an omega with the ability to convince other shifters he is their fated mate makes money for the religious cult he was raised in by stripping. When these two meet sparks fly, but how can they know if it’s real or just the thrall of pheromones. It’s an exciting ride and sexy as all get out as these two dancers come together.
These characters are well developed and will endear themselves in your heart. You will laugh, cry and cheer for them! Not a lot of hard core angst, but enough to keep you turning pages to see what happens next. You will get so invested in these characters finding out if they are true fated mates or the victim of red wolf thrall.
This is one of my favorite writers for shifter and MPreg m/m novels…do yourself a favor and don’t pass up this stand-alone novel.
Can’t wait to see if Montpelier becomes a base for a new series as we get introduced to several new and interesting characters!!
Red Wolf Thrall by author Amy Bellows is set in the world of Heron Manor. I liked that this story is written in dual POV lets me get into the mindset of both characters.
Kai is a ballet dancer. He is being let go by his company and needs a job. He thinks he can strip but he needs some help. He is an Omega, but he is muscular on who wants to be an Alpha. He might be young, but he knows what he wants and is not afraid of going after what he wants.
Noah, he is a red wolf shifter. He is also the most popular dancer at the strip club. He is special he can make any Alpha think he is their mate. He never gives private dances because of this. He is a smart man who is super sexy. He knows Kai is his mate when he meets him.
I liked these two together. They each have what the other needs. I liked they are both Omegas but such different ways of looking at being Omega. This is a great story, and I am glad I got the chance to review it.
Fantastic!! Kai and Noah are both Omegas. They both are only attracted to Omegas. When Kai looses his job as a ballet dancer he goes to a strip club where Noah works. Noah is a Red Wolf shifter whose pheromones are enticing and can make you feel enamored and trapped. Kai knows that Noah is his mate. Kai and Noah hooked me right from the beginning and didn’t let me go. I literally couldn’t put the story down, sooo freakin good. Overall, fantastic! The story was really well written, the pacing flowed smoothly, highly recommend. The story kept me engaged and I literally could not put it down. I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My review is solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Noah and Kai, oh my goodness these two had a wonderful chemistry. I love the mix of flirty sweetness and steamy moments. That this is fated mates between two omegas was an interesting take, I’ve not read anything similar in this genre. I loved all the details and history we learn from Noah about his red wolf shifter culture, so well done. Both Noah and Kai are dancers and the play between Kai’s ballet and Noah’s pole dancing was amazing, the author is able to really paint the visual here, the descriptions bring the dance to life. I loved these characters and their road to their happy ending was quite lovely. Highly recommend, wonderful writing, complicated characters, and the richly drawn wolf shifter universe was excellent!
Although I’ve read almost all of Amy Bellow’s books, they still manage to surprise me every single time with how unique and wonderful each story is. This is no exception, with a beautiful, at times painful, but always magical story about two omegas. As ever, there is chemistry and romance, but there is also family, a wonderfully created omega verse and more. Although this is a standalone, it also continues to add to the Heron Manor/Alaskan pebble gifters world, which just gets more wonderful with every new story. I completely recommend this book (and if you haven’t already, go read the other ones too!)
I read the original shorter story that was expanded into this story, so I was curious to see what was added. I absolutely loved the world building! It’s something that Amy is amazing at. It added so much to the story and added more depth to the characters. As always, I loved the balance of sweet romance and life challenges. Kai and Noah were just the sweetest guys. And there’s some great bonus content after the epilogue!
This can be read as a stand-alone, but the world building does tie into other books.
Lance West is quickly becoming one of my go to narrators. He did this wonderful story justice. 🎧 5* I read the original shorter story When Two Omegas Dance and enjoyed the extension about Noah his dad and Noah his boss and friend. I love that the author always creates and expands on her wonderful creative paranormal world with various interspecies relations, shifters who love who they love, mpreg and little ones. I alwats find nods and links to 'our universe' a.k.a. real world.📚 4* Overall 4,5*
I received an arc for the book via the author and received an also received an audiocode for the audiobook. I leave my honedt and personal review foe both.
there is just something about these worlds that Amy Bellows' writes that i am just addicted to.
i really enjoyed this from start to finish. there is also a bonus story about Noah's omega father at the end, which was a nice surprise.
i am excited to read the other book in this series. this is definitely a series of standalones you don't have to read these in order, so if one book appeals to you more than you can skip all the others to read that one.
Also Lance West's narration was great, i think the soft-spoken narrators work for Amy Bellows' books, there is just something whimsical about them haha
Two omega shifter boys from very different worlds meet each other working in - of all places - an Anchorage strip club. Noah is from a local and very insular religious community where omega/omega pairings are taboo, while Kai is from a small and very open minded Californian town.
And speaking of Kai's hometown: The whole butterfly fertility thing they practice is just so beautiful. I remember it was mentioned in another book (the Pebble Shifter series?), but this one goes into much more detail about how it works. Very moving. Also, I hope Amy is serious about writing the warlock/healer's story at some point.
I first read this story when it was When Two Omegas Dance and adored it but I think this expanded version is extra special. That paired with all the other worldbuilding we've seen across Amy's stories just made me fall in love with Noah and Kai even more. Amy's stories bring out all of my feelings and this one was no exception. If you're ready to feel happy, sad, hopeful, and in love with some fictional characters this one is definitely a good choice. And make sure you don't miss Noah's dad's story!
Having read the previous short, I already knew I was going to live this as well. My expectations were blown out of the water. Getting Noah's backstory was absolutely wonderful and helped solidify many unanswered questions. I loved the fact that while being strong enough to support each other through their individual issues Noah and Kai were also strong enough to stand alone as well when needed. They were both exactly what the other needed. This was beautifully written, full of equally sweet, tender emotion and page melting chemistry.
I loved it. This book was everything I had been waiting for. The dynamic between Kai and Noah was so enchanting to watch. I loved watching Noah discover who he was and Kai figure out who exactly he was with Noah. I do wish there had been more nesting like in her previous books. I think that would be the only downside to this. But other then that it was amazing. Another great one by this author.
